I literally was so scared at first to try this because the thought of going into a pod with water and closing myself in was intimidating but all jokes aside it was all in my head you have full control of the pod being open and closed and it's extremely relaxing and the staff is super helpful and informative and walks you through the entire experience before you start making the experience that more comfortable. I literally felt like a brand new human being after floating I was extremely relaxed and my body felt super at ease it was extremely therapeutic 10/10 experience and I would highly recommend anyone to come here and experience floating. Also if the pod is still not your kind of thing they also have a open cabin that doesn't close that you can float in and after you complete your floating sessions they also have a wellness lounge where you can reset and relax and have tea and get into the groove before stepping out into the world. read more

We had an incredible first time experience at Float8. Our friend recommended us to try floating, which was a novel concept we decided to explore. The facility has different size floating pools (futuristic pods or wider cabins with standing room). The water contains high levels of epsom salt, which is soothing for the skin and allows you to float with ease. There is a spray bottle of fresh water and wash towel in case you get salt in your eyes. They have vaseline for any open cuts/wounds on the skin. The ear plugs and vinegar squeeze bottle were very helpful, too. The entire process was meditative. First you take a shower with aromatherapy products, then float for an hour in the cabin of your choice, then shower again, and finally enjoy a cup of hot tea while journaling/coloring/relaxing. We tried floating with sensory deprivation (no light or sound)...such a raw feeling floating in the abyss. It was a foreign, but familiar feeling akin to a fetus engulfed by amniotic fluid inside a mother's womb. You're able to fully relax and only hear the thumping sound of your own heart beat. There are also light and sound buttons inside the pod if you prefer that. We loved the entire experience and highly recommend everyone to give it a try! This was my second time ever floating at Float8. It's far enough from the house that I won't/can't go regularly but my buddy sent me a text with their free Veterans Day float for vets and I knew I wanted to get out there. So read that last line! Float8 cares enough to provide a free float on Veterans Day. And, that buddy who referred me goes often and it has helped him immensely! Back to your regularly scheduled review-- Walking in, the ambiance is automatically relaxing. I'm not sure of what I was smelling but it was so calming. The staff greeted me and squared me away. Note: if it's your first float, you'll watch a video and sign some waivers. I had some chamomile tea as I waited for my pod to be ready. Once in the room, a quick shower and in the pod I went. Now, my previous float was 5 years prior. I've suffered from anxiety for years and, should you suffer as well, just give it a few. The calming aspect of floating soon takes over. Laying there floating, it seemed like I was the only one in the world. The only thing I can compare it to, when I woke up, was coming out of anesthesia. 60 minutes felt like 60 seconds. But my body felt like silly putty after. The drive home I felt clearer, relaxed, and refreshed. That feeling carried over into the next day and here I sit, hoping your give it a try! read more

My husband treated me to a float for my birthday. This was my second time floating, but first time at this location. Upon arriving, you are greeted by a very excited staff who explains the entire float process and answer any questions you may have. My only complaint was the pushiness of the staff to get me and my husband to sign up for more floats and membership before I had even floated. The float room is very nice and has a shower located right there for you to rinse off before and after. The entire building has a lovely scent of lavender and peppermint which is very soothing. The tank itself is pretty straight forward, with a button for light and button to turn off or on music. I floated for an hour and it's just about the right amount of time. I had my first float at Float8 and it was an incredible experience! As a very anxious person, I was shocked at how easily I was able to relax once I got used to submerging my ears under water. The tank I was in was very large, more like a small room rather than a pod. There were also two buttons inside the tank, one for music and one for light. As a first-time floater I was happy about having the light button so I could turn it off once I got more comfortable. The staff member who showed me to my room was very nice and gave a lot helpful tips to help the float session go more smoothly. The waiting lounge and shower areas were also very comfortable. Where to begin, my tank water smelled like strong ammonia, still hoping it was not someone else urine i was floating in. My skin felt itchy and dry afterwards. After two hot showers my skin and body still felt incredibly dry and itchy. Wondering how often the water is replaced and if they are even replaced with fresh or treated water? or any chemicals used? I never felt this itchiness before and i have been in many public pools. Unfortunately, these type of businesses are unsanitary. read more

Meditation is a good thing and it can be done effectively while floating in the dark, easily accomplished by anyone with a decent-sized bathtub. So doing it in public and paying for the privilege seemed a little silly to me. I also found it hard to breathe as you are enclosed inside a pod and the steam rising off the water interferes with your oxygen intake. read more

I had been thinking about trying a float for sometime. I was somewhat apprehensive that morning and a bit uneasy for the first few minutes of the float tank, then I settled in. I love this entire area along the train tracks and the variety of establishments in the area. I tried out Float8 in the hopes of experiencing something I haven't patronized in the area yet but I was disappointed in my experience. The smell was of stagnate water and the staff weren't to freely, for the price you would think they can give their equipment a deep cleaning or cycle the water more. read more
