Brought two dogs in today for grooming. This is my second experience here and both have been negative experiences. I want to start with the first visit. The dogs had a basic grooming for their first appointment and a trim. One of my dogs had excess fur shaved on their front paws. They did not mention it when we picked them up and we only noticed when we were at home. I didn't think anything of it. Maybe it was an accident. Second visit is related to the pictures. My dogs claw is completely gone. They had it bandaged when we picked her up but I could tell in the visit when picking them up that it was wet with blood. The person there explained this happened when they muzzled my dog because they were screaming. Not unusual for shibas as a breed but mine has never screamed in my care. The incident was explained as my dog wanting to remove the muzzle and their nail was caught on the muzzle and they ripped it out. This does not look anything like that sort of scenario. This looks like neglect. They were not careful in clipping the nails and they removed the whole thing and it bled. Anyone can walk in the store and see how they clip the dogs nails. I even witnessed today there was a dog on the table and they were very careless in the clipping of nails and they were on the phone. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I will call the place back for a refund of the visit and the vet bills will be forwarded to the clinic. The person there said they would cover it when they were explaining what happened. If you can't give the dogs your full attention or care don't answer the phone or work there. read more

Our go-to spot for our Morkie. The whole crew just loves her and they're so good with the doggos. For holidays like Halloween/Christmas, she always leaves with a themed bandana, and sometimes they even take photos of her to give to us *tear*. I think no dog enjoys getting groomed, but this place makes it as painless for her ass possible. Here's how much I appreciate Paw Spa's empathy and commitment to calming my rescue pup's nerves: We moved 1.5 hours away and tried to go to a new groomer. Big nope (PetCo; shoulda known). So we're gonna ferry all the way *back* to Paw Spa. They get down on the floor and love him up for a few minutes, and that. Is. Everything. His cuts are adorbs (see photos!). These guys take great care of our labradoodle puppy! We started taking him here when he was very small to get him used to the groomer's. He doesn't mind going even! In terms of haircut, I do think he's sometimes a little too fluffy ("Bob Ross" is his nickname after the groomer) but the haircut keeps well until his next appointment. read more

A friend of mine referred us to this dog salon. I looked up the website, and I saw adorable pictures of dogs with their cute little haircuts. For the first and last trim, we took our 7 month old maltese/shih tzu to Petsmart's grooming salon. Her trim was uneven, and she looked so scared after we picked her up :( But that wasn't our experience with Magnolia Paw Spa! We called to set up an appointment, and once we had arrived we had all her vaccination paperwork ready. After filling out a form, Julia came to talk to us about what we wanted done. We just asked for a basic trim and grooming. After coming back to pick her up, my dog didn't look scared at all! Julia explained everything she did for our fur baby which was nice because Petsmart literally just hands over your dog like it's a receipt or something... Lol. But anyway, my dog was so clean & well groomed! Her nails were cut and filed, her paws and face were trimmed to perfection, and she looked so happy! They also put a cute little bandana on her. I'm so happy I found a lovely place to get my dog groomed! I will definitely continue coming here, and I highly recommend that you guys bring your dogs here as well :) read more

I've been taking my long haired Collie (Like Lassie) to Angie for years. My dog loves her and feels comfortable. The results are amazing. I always request the deluxe service (and deshedding if needed because a Collie's coat is very difficult to maintain). There is parking, the dogs go out for bathroom breaks, all staff are lovely. Updated! In the event you just want to know - should I take my pet here? The answer is yes, absolutely. Bottom line: You will not realize how great this place is until you have gone elsewhere. The magical transformation of your pet will amaze you. However, you may want to read the entire tail to fully appreciate how awesome this place is. I have a long haired collie (Exactly like Lassie!), my best friend. She sheds heavily twice a year, and despite my best efforts, really needs a true professional. No sparkle, panache, ugly bandannas, sigh. It was actually more expensive. With no bathroom breaks. THE OTHER PLACE TURNS TO THE DARK SIDE: (They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named) Last fall, my girl was in desperate need of a full grooming. Playing off leash with her friends, rolling in something funky... she was shedding, dirty, and her rear was so matted it looked like she had gained 10 pounds. Of course, she was delighted. She went in for a full grooming at the Other Place. I had planned I to corral the balls of fur during the day, when: ---------- I received a message an HOUR later she was ready. ----------- Huh? Impossible. It takes 10 minutes just to get a 75 pound dog with that much fur WET. I was suspicious. So suspicious, in fact, I called Angie immediately. I was afraid she would not remember me. To my astonishment, she had perfect recall of every detail of my dog's entire grooming life! (Take that, Hermione!) I picked up my girl from the Other Place and rushed her to the Spa. My dog looked decent. She was dry. This could only be Voldemort's handiwork. My dog wagged her tail as Angie checked her out. All the employees came out to see her and welcome her back. We've been coming here for a while. The cuts are nice enough (I'd give the cut 4 stars for a basic cut, they're not putting our dogs in show cuts) and the location is convenient for us. They are expensive, but I was willing to pay for the convenience of location. My complaint is about customer interaction/service. This is not the first awkward customer interaction, but this one pissed me off enough to YELP it. I brought my two dogs in mid-week after a weekend of playing on the beach. I had washed my dogs and I used a professional blower at home to brush and dry them the weekend before (this helps with matting). I don't do a perfect job, I'm not a groomer, but it was decent. When I picked up my dogs (after paying $200 w/tip for both) a groomer came out to inform me that one of the dogs was cut shorter due to "extensive" matting. I knew that one dog had some mats on her legs and behind her ear, but it was not "extensive" and it could be brushed through or worked out by a professional (or me if I had more time). I wasn't bothered by the shorter cut, but curious about what was "extensive" about her matting. So, I asked where the "extensive" matting had occurred (as to pay more attention next time I wash and dry). The groomer I could see asked the other groomer behind the wall, "Where was the dog matted?". The response from behind the wall (knowing I was able to hear everything) was a woman, who in a super condescending voice said, "Oh I don't know..." and then proceeded to list every body part on a dog. My dog had some mats, but not in the way that the faceless groomer so snottily listed. Treating customers in such a condescending and non-professional manner is childish and leads to 2 star reviews on YELP. read more

We now live 50min from Magnolia are unable to bring our dog in last-minute for a same day waitlist dropoff appointment. This is literally a grooming factory- very disappointed. Two successful visits and pup looked great. Then third visit, I brought him in and my dog was very distressed upon arrival; Literally had to push him through the gate with groomer pulling on leash. Something just not right obviously with a bad vibe/memory feeling. Then was called that my dog had diarrhea and had to be picked up. He was only washed after almost 4 HOURS being stuck in a kennel. Appointment was at 830am; call to pick him up at 12:15pm!!! Unbelievable. Completely upset stomach due to stress as per Banfield vet (bill:$340). When I arrived to pick him up, I heard him barking in a very distressed way and male groomer shouting at him after each single bark. I walked him as soon as I got outside, significant amounts of blood came from his anus. Something he never has had ever before. Went home and same thing happened several more times; as said, I had to visit vet and it was found that stress colitis and more than likely anal gland puncture/ collateral damage had occurred NEVER ever again will take him to the Magnolia paw spa. read more

Now we set up appointments about every 6 weeks for a bath and nail trip. They are very loving with out 90lb dog and she is so happy to go there. She has been places before where she didn't want to go in and I won't go back to those places. The staff is always super friendly and nice when I am there and even on the phone. I have taken my dog there twice and although the groomer did a fabulous job and was very nice the front desk people have an attitude. The first time I was 15 minutes late (got lost) and she informed me that this was not acceptable. When I went to pick her up they were very short with me. I decided to try and trim my PomChi's fur myself one afternoon and turned him into a disaster! I unknowingly shaved an exclamation mark into his side and took his fur way too short on one side. In tears, I called the Paw Spa and Angie was so calming and friendly. She took my poor pup's tragic cut and cleaned him up so beautifully; and did an amazing job. The fur is growing in nicely and I will never again make the mistake of thinking I can groom. The staff at the salon were great and making an appointment was a breeze.
