Tons of selection choices, nice wide isles and many large tile displays so you can better see what it will look like installed. Prices are clearly visible. The employee assistance is awesome! Every person I came into contact with, sometimes it was the same person more than once, was there to assist you and to make sure you were finding what you need, even when you are not sure what you need. Their designer, Sofia, knows what she is doing! She confirmed my choice of backsplash and helped me narrow down the floor tile to flow with my overall design. My wife wanted to visit Floor and Decor to get a vision of flooring and tile options for a multi room remodeling project that we have at our home. I was hesitant about enduring another big box store experience. I envisioned lots of choices but very little customer service. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed when we encountered Christian. He was knowledgeable about the large selection of products. What impressed us the most was the customer service he provided. He was able to ask the right questions that greatly assisted us in narrowing down our choices. He voluntarily retrieved samples of the tiles we were considering and suggested we look at them next to the flooring we were attracted to. We never felt rushed or pressured. That sense of customer service extended to our check out experience. We got in line to pay for tiles we bought. While the cashier station light was illuminated it turned out that it was closed. Instead of making us move to another cashier they opened the register for us. As a result this store will be our primary source for the materials we need to complete our current and future projects. read more

Very convenient to buy and return items and prices are reasonable, if not cheaper but good quality. I bought all my materials here when we remodeled our home and our rental. I am doing a bathroom remodel and went with the homeowner to select the tile. We were helped by a young woman named SheCorya. We were blown away by her product knowledge and customer service! When I went back with the contractor to purchase the supplies, I was sad to learn that she was off that day. Another associate name Stephanie jumped right in and helped us calculate amounts and finished helping us get everything we needed. She even went the extra mile to locate some additional inventory and called me to let me know that she had found it. They both TRULY went the extra mile!!! Saturday, 11/16/19 is the grand opening of this needed big box store for those wanting to get their renovation itch scratched. Went yesterday at noon, the second day this location in Milpitas has been in business. This Floor and Decor is an absolute gem...the large parking lot, the helpful and friendly knowledgeable staff, the logical store layout, the useful "inspiration tables" that you can lay out your choices as you ponder what to eventually buy, to the large flooring sample displays the size of a door instead of usual inadequate displays that you cannot get a good visualization of what it would look like in your home. Leon, the tile smarty pants, is on hand to help you with any questions, hoist boxes of tiles and input your order so all you have to do is waltz up to the register, pay and roll out. Bryant, the wood flooring guru is a fountain of knowledge and very personable. We must have been asked if we need any assistance by every staffer that walked by...their enthusiasm is infectious. Finally, when we were checking out we had one of the register trainers, Jamie(from another location but on hand helping out the new store) help us and she caught a few errors in our purchases like the wrong color of grout, the needing of a "pencil" finishing edge for our back splash tiles, and silicon tubes...so even though you have everything ready for check out you still want a knowledgeable person to review your purchases for omissions and offer suggestions. You may not have so much attention lavished on you but we fortunately shopped when they were fully staffed and gearing up for their Grand Opening, their morale and excitement high. Jeanette Palacios was fantastic in helping my parents and I choose material for our bathroom remodel. We showed her photos of our existing bathroom with several inspiration photos, and she immediately found several different tiles/floor/mosaic options that would fit with our existing vanity and our inspiration photos. She was very friendly and patient, and answered all our questions and was flexible in finding new options and colors as we discussed what we had in mind. She took us to look at all the materials on the floor, and we walked with us throughout the store to find all right colors and textures we wanted. We even came in a second time to ask her for some more opinions and she was equally knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. I highly recommend Jeanette as a designer to help you with your projects. Store is nice and new. They have a lot of products and staff is super nice and friendly. Little disappointed on prices. There are very little sale items and multiple employees kept touting they have the lowest prices and that they would price match. I bought a Kerdi drain and some Kerdi band cause I was in a pinch and needed to finish a project and I found that it was around 15% cheaper on Amazon - tried to price match and was denied. We were really excited when we first discovered the Milpitas store with samples in stock to preview. But if making a purchase from them is as challenging as it is, then I'm really nervous of the after-service as mentioned in so many of these reviews. I came in today with my already decided upon 1000 sq/ft + stairwell flooring order ready to be placed and just wanted help with backsplashes for our kitchen and flooring, counters, sinks and tiles for our two bathroom renovations. Today, Saturday, was my only free time to get these orders placed. A recommendation to Floor and Decor; if someone makes an appointment then please show them some respect. Particularly if they are driving from an hour away. I had an appointment but the previous couple was still discussing their project with whom I was suppose to meet with at our meet time. Absolutely no big deal as I mentioned for them to take their time after insuring that I was in the right location within the store. After about 20 minutes, I then see the representative helping some other people in detail. A bit frustrating but ok. Then after another 15 minutes I see her helping another couple in detail. Floor and Decor, you have a great way of being disrespectful of people and their time. I then asked another employee if I could speak to the manager, Mike I believe, informing them of this situation. Guess what; they had no idea where Mike was and seemingly unsure of how to find him.....but would pass along the message. I made this appointment as I noticed from being in the store earlier in the month that it is very challenging to find someone to help customers. I understand that representatives get pulled away with questions from customers but here is a good solution; Just mention to them that you have an appointment to keep. The good news is that I did find some good ideas that I decided upon with so much free time to wander the store again. The bad news is that I did not get a single item from Floor and Decor but now sourcing elsewhere. read more

I ordered some samples to be shipped to this store for pick up and one of them is a special order. I came twice after receiving notification from Fedex that the order is delivered and my order is complete. The first time the staff said they can't find it so I have to wait. The second time I came in and instead of giving me the porcelain tile sample they gave me the ceramic tile sample I already picked up from the first visit - worse the staff claimed that this is the porcelain sample when the SKU matched with the ceramic one. Then she said the order is messed up because of a crew from a different shift. Since they don't have the porcelain sample on site, I decided to get a refund instead of dealing with this a third time. It's a new store so they just need to get a better system in place and improve their staffs' training. read more

In need of design help I made an appointment with Mary Boltz. I wanted suggestions for backsplash tile in kitchen and bath. We recently updated our 23 year old cabin in Tahoe with granite countertops and sinks in the bathroom. Mary spent time showing me tile options as well as the other necessary items to do the job. The showroom has so many options and was overwhelming. I was very impressed with Mary's time and energy she put into helping me. I highly recommend her services! read more

Terrible experience with their return process. First of all their employees are completely clueless about their return process for any return falling into categories outside their standard return policy. For return over their standard 90 days and with presence of receipt they had me wait for their entries into system until system generated a box which directed customer to call a number (their 3rd party return verification). This process also generated a return denial message as well as return receipt. When I asked if there is nothing to have items (unopened, resalable and in perfect new condition), I was told I have to call 3rd party number but I was not given the generated return receipt! It took me at least 10 phone calls (I needed to go back to store in order to collect return receipt, I had to call back as each time they asked for certain numbers which were not readily available) to hear from 3rd party the same reason for my return request as I was given in store (beyond 90 days)!! To add to this headache: 3rd party verification is in India, if you are lucky to understand their employee over the phone you would struggle with terrible voice quality as it is coming from bottom of a hole. read more

I was referred to this flooring store by a person who uses it regularly in his work. I went to the Milpitas store, but assume the others are similar. It is a gigantic warehouse that is clean and inviting. The displayed samples are easy to see, and several "rooms" are set up to allow the customer to see what the products look like in a real space. I had looked online and knew what I wanted, but it's hard not to wander around and look at everything. I asked an associate to help me. She looked like she was in the middle of something, but did not say she couldn't help. When I mentioned I could wait if she was busy, she went to get another associate. Carolina came right over and helped me find the tile I had chosen. I didn't want white grout, so she also helped pick out a complimentary color that was a little darker. The website allows you to choose a specific location when looking for products. I'm not sure how often inventory is updated, but I was able to see that the Milpitas store had ample pieces of the tile I wanted to purchase. We went to the store to purchase flooring products . i purchased the flooring and informed the sales mgr Michael that i needed a step down 1/4 rounds ! he informed me to order online as they were special order after purchasing floor i went to order th estep down they tried to charge me 279 dollars to ship and to call customer service.After talking to customer service she informed me that they have a problem with the vendor and it would be 3 months to deliver to store . michael knew this but did not inform me before purchase so now im stuck on my project and will have to return all flooring wont use them again read more

We ordered flooring the end of September and still haven't had any word on when our order would be available for pick up! We have gone to the store several times since placing the order and have been told early November to maybe mid December and still guessing!! So we tried a different location just to see if we'd get a different answer or could learn more and an employee told us that this store has made us wait too long & basically did us wrong because they should have outsourced it, especially giving us an original pick up date of early November!! We appreciated his honesty since we heard from a relative who also said their location did the same and outsourced their order. He kindly checked and found that there is or were 40 boxes of what we need in Texas! He said that they should also waive the delivery fee for this inconvenience. It only took the other location a few minutes of our time to see what was really going on. Unfortunately this Milpitas location lacks customer service! read more

So the Chief Executive Merchant sent me a message that they would like to discuss what happened. I sent my information in so they can contact me...here we are 6 days later and no response from them... I even resent a message to them trying to reach out to a live person but NOTHING! ..its 1/21 and once again no one from the store called, like promised, to tell us if our paid order arrived. ...Here are a few of the many excuses: "the manager should have called you, ohh it's on the truck but we cant locate the truck, oh the supply is in Texas-we will fed ex it, oh this is a corporate mistake as there was backorder and corporate did not tell the employees at the store, the texas store did not send it out, has no one contact you???, we will have to look it up to see where your paid order is, i am not able to get anyone to help you-come back a different time, we can not track orders, I am not sure what has happened but we would like to get your order to you, even a would you like to cancel your order ..." I think Floor Decor is running out if excuses-just get me what I paid for. CONSUMERS: this store likes your money but can not fill the order that we have been waiting for for a few months now. It would be nice if the store would actually contact you rather than send a generic message with no intent of talking to customer. I just want to finish our flooring that started before Thanksgiving holiday but Floor Decor will not provide me with my paid order trim!! Go somewhere else if you want your floor to be complete! My husband and I are in the process of remodeling 3 bathrooms along with our laundry room. We stopped by to visit the store and were blown away with the options they carry. This project had me very overwhelmed in regards to picking out materials that would aesthetically go together and flow. This store offers you FREE design service with a professional designer. We made an appointment and had the luck & pleasure of being assigned to Jeanette Palacios. She took the time to get to know our taste and welcomed looking at our Pinterest board to get an idea of what we hoped the end product will look like. She is VERY knowledgeable in regards to materials in every price point. She was very patient in listening what we liked and offered various options to support our vision and budget. She truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We were having so much fun picking out materials that we went over our designated time frame. Jeanette went to the extent of staying an extra hour after she was off on her personal time to finish picking out everything we had in mind. We came home super excited to have picked out materials for our entire project and can't wait to show her the finished projects! read more
