Not sure if this should be a five-star for the service experience or a one-star rating as the store is so large with to much eye candy. But we'll go with a five-star because of the great service. Allow me to share our shopping experience. I have never been to or heard of 'Floor & Decor'. But my buddy that wants to replace his kitchen floor took me to the Milpitas store. And upon walking in we were overwhelm. While I had read up about DIY vinyl flooring, I had as of that time never touched or compared actual samples. So, I asked for assistance. A few minutes later Joey Marquez came to our rescue. We knew the grade, thickness and general color we wanted. Joey helped us narrow our search and recommend transition pieces. He also told us where we could obtain additional inventory at their other stores, if needed, as we purchased all their boxes of the flooring we selected. (I think we have enough) Joey scanned our purchase items on the floor and arranged for a fork lift delivery to our car while we paid. Customer service has gone bad here. It's not the same as it used to be. My contractor asked me to return some Bostic grout as he said the product was defective. It was a small item compared to +$4000 tile that I just bought from them. They refused to issue a refund and told me to contact the manufacturer! I was about to buy about $7000 worth of hardwood floors from them today, but I will go with Lowes instead. They still have a good product collection at a reasonable price, but for that customer service, I'd rather not buy anything from them if I can find it elsewhere. read more

Went here to look at the tile selections in person as I had some research online first. It was honestly overwhelming and it was difficult for my very pregnant self to be looking up at their displays. They were about 10-20 feet in the air. I was interested in bringing home samples of some of the individual tile samples, but the specific one I was looking for unfortunately only had a single tile left. Overall 5/5; Service 7/5; Price Excellent TLDR: My floors were super late due to COVID (6+ weeks) but the team at F&D were incredible at keeping me up to speed (via text!) on where my floor was in the shipping process (including boat shipment updates). When they arrived, the operations manager drove what he could up to my house himself so I could get started on the weekend as opposed to waiting for standard delivery the following Tuesday. I was doing some tile shoppings over the weekend. I said good morning to one of the sales associates and her response was shxt you scared hell out of me and walked away. We went to the store for tiles. Before going, we checked online. System said the inventory has 150 in stocks but then when I went to the store, it only has 30. Due to the inventory variation, we changed our plan to buy a different 50 marble tiles and numerous of them have chips or defects. I told the same associate we would like to check before purchasing. She then said I need to pay before checking. The sales associate attitude to the customer is unacceptable. Inventory system is a mess up. I was happy to hear that Floor & Decor was in the Bay Area. A few years ago I ordered tile from their LA location online and was happy with the overall process and product. To visit this store in person is a completely different experience as you can see from the other reviews. If you know what you need and just need a few boxes of tile, I think this place is good. However, if you need assistance of any kind regarding a quick question on an item or question about literally anything else, do not waste a trip. Frankly, I would highly recommend Granite Expo in San Jose. Newly opened and they are super patient, helpful and the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

On Sunday, 5/17/2020, I picked up a tile order of over $2,500 from this location at around 1100 hours. When I brought my large order home, I opened a few boxes of tile and saw that some were broken down the center as well as corner chips on others. I immediately called the Milpitas Floor & Decor from where I picked up my order and told them that I had broken pieces along with over ordering some other tile pieces. I called the 408-904-0131 number and spoke to a gentleman over the phone. Whoever I spoke to over the phone told me that I could return and exchange any tiles ANY time I wanted to as long as I had the receipt. Well I clarified with him and asked again, "anytime?" He responded yes any time. At about 1300 hours, I loaded my truck with the broken and other tiles and headed back to the Milpitas location to return and exchange them. Keep in mind, I picked up my order TWO hours prior. When I arrived a manager, Christian, told me he would exchange my broken tiles but were unable to accept returns due to COVID reasons. I asked him if he were able to receive and exchange broken tiles, why was he unable to take full on returns? Christian told me it was company policy and that we could make full returns in about two to three weeks. I told him I spoke to someone over the phone and they told me they would accept exchanges AND returns ANY TIME. I asked Christian to show me this company policy and he said they didn't "have it" on writing and I would have to contact customer service in Georgia. I asked him how calling Georgia would help me return items and he just shrugged. Is a rep in Georgia going to come to my house and pick hundreds of pounds of tile up? Furthermore, I asked Christian as a manager, to contact customer service for me and he said I would have to do it. As a manager, I would assume if he called, I would get better customer service and the ability to have some direction in when and where I can return these items; Christian refused. Christian kept saying "I'm done arguing with you." Arguing? Why the F would you be arguing with a customer any way? Along with all of that, they gave me a customer service number 877-675-0002 that DID NOT WORK. If they were able to take exchanges, WHY NOT RETURNS? I'm tired of businesses blaming things on this COVID ordeal. This is plain out extremely POOR customer service. Their team is in disfunction and obviously are not communicating with one another. When a customer calls and they tell me one thing, and I arrive to only be turned away with HUNDREDS of pounds of tile telling me I can't return them, its OBSURD. I'm not returning half eaten pies or worn underwear, its F'N TILE! I will never again go to Floor & Decor. And I highly advise people not to as well. if you need something quickly, don't order online. despite the website saying there was plenty of the tile I wanted in stock, and me paying up front for said tile, I'm still waiting over 24 hours later for order to be "fulfilled". My expectation for order online/pick up in person is that it should take a few hours (Home Depot, Lowes and everywhere else are able to do this) Trying to speak to a human being at the store was a lost cause. I eventually "spoke" to a chat message and was informed it could take a few days and if I needed quickly, I should cancel the order and come and order in person. Why offer online order/store pick up if this is in fact the case? update: 2 days later and waiting for online order (of in stock item). I stand by my comments above. Update 3: after trying for two days to get someone on the phone (I called and it rang for 5 minutes, then hung up on me- multiple times) I spoke to a person who said there wasn't stock to fulfill my order, so, I paid in advance, had to wait 72 hours to speak to a human only for them to tell me "nope". They suggested I call another store. Great. I called and asked if I could pay over the phone and pick up that day and they said "no, you have to order online". unbelievable. My contractor kindly offered to drive out of his way to another store and take his chances and we got most of hat we needed. No thanks to the online ordering system or anyone at the store(s). Avoid, Avoid, Avoid..... Read the reviews of other people. The place is beautiful and the staff seems friendly.......However read the reviews of the people that actually bought something here, and the followup service they got.....Once they made the sale, they drop you like a bad habit. My family has expireced this exact thing.....We bought the product, now we cannot get it from the store because of this Corona thing....I understand their safety, but hey, make it available to us, our complete remodel is dependent on this, and we are being HELD HOSTAGE. This is unacceptable and unreasonable. I work for a contractor, and if I conducted myself in this manner, of not returning calls, or taking care of my customer, I would be fired.......Maybe this store should consider getting an entire new staff??? Here is a story for you: I drove from the Floor and Decor store in Burlingame to get tile that they had in stock in Milpitas. I was helped by Amber (who would get 5 stars for helpfulness, and why they got 2 rather than just one.) They had 39 square feet in inventory, which is what we needed. They had 9 ft on the shelf and 30 were up somewhere that required a forklift. Unfortunately, the forklift guy was too busy to get it down. I asked if they could ship it to the Burlingame store and they said that they could, but I would have to pay for shipping. I asked how much it would be (figuring $20 to not have to come back again would be ok), but they said $165. So, they wanted to charge me $165 to ship $500 worth of tile 30 miles because their guy was too busy to pull it off the shelf. Amber was very nice about it, but their customer service attitude is unbelievable. read more

I bought real wood flooring for about 2200 sq ft plus stair bullnosing in Feb 2023 (about $25,000). They have a very large selection of all kinds and we went there thrice before finalizing. The people who helped were experts and honest as well, pointing out pros and cons of our choices. They gave samples to take home ($5 deposit). So the initial part of selecting and buying was nice. It went downhill from there. We wanted it delivered, but due to some confusion, they expected us to pick it up, so the flooring arrived in the showroom. I went back to pay for delivery. The checkout person refused to pull up my order, saying I should go pick up the flooring at some other counter. I kept saying I need to make a payment and not pick up. I finally asked to speak to the manager and they said 'they are with a customer' and didn't call anyone. I roamed around the warehouse after 15 mnts and found someone who brought me right back to this counter and asked the same checkout person to pull up my order and take my money. Absolutely disgusting customer experience. The delivery was scheduled and didn't arrive. I got a call (same checkout person ). They said parts of my order were not ready. I reminded them I ALREADY KNOW my entire order is sitting in the showroom. They kept muttering about missing order. Then they asked me a series of questions (is this a house or apartment, street width, low hanging wires etc.) which they had obviously forgotten to ask when I paid. THIS IS WHY IT WAS NOT DELIVERED. I then got a text from logistics (which I hadnt gotten previously). I don't know if this is incompetence or they were just being a jerk. But I lost 4 days of productivity. We needed a few more boxes of tile from our local store in concord, but they were out of stock. After ordering and paying for tiles from the Milpitas store (which said they had them in stock) last night online, our contractor was told the tiles were not in stock at pickup today. Their kind employee Aiden drove all the way to Stockton to pick up the out of stock tiles and delivered to them our home because they knew the tile portion of our project was finishing up today and we had already placed the order and paid for it at the Milpitas store! I've been searching for tile for a while now. I finally found it on Saturday. I asked an associate for help since there was no tag identified the tile. I was told it was discontinued and that he would go find out if they had any in stock. I waited about 40 minutes, and the associate never came. I then found another associate, Nyah she was the most helpful person I've ever met. She not only found a pallet of the tile, but she also made sure the warehouse associate, Jose was able to load it before we left (I had shared with her that we drove for 2 hours). And we enjoyed working with the designers which is a free service! We never had issues with finding someone to help us get the tile and their return policy is also generous within 90 days. Worst customer service experience I ever had in my entire life. I wanted to purchase one extra 48x48 Atlantique Porcelelain tile because one of mine came chipped. So I went to the store and try to buy it in store. I found the tile display but behind it was the wrong tiles (Maximo Magnus). Then I went and ask the lady in front. She simply said it is just out of stock without even checking... I told her it says in-stock online and provided her with the SKU. She then ask someone on phone, and she was told that it is just underneath the wrong tiles. So I asked her is there anyone going to move those wrong tiles because each of them is 70+lbs. And she just asked me to simply move them. Realizing talking to this lady is complete waste of time, so I have no choice but to move each of the 48x48 wrong tile all by myself. There were like 15 of them, so I had to move a total of 1050 lbs all by myself. Not a single soul there helped me while the two ladies in front are just sitting there chatting and looking at their phones. I've had some good experience at other Floor & Decor locations but this one is truly the worst. read more

My wife and I came into the store in Sept. 2020 to just brows the store. At which time, The Pro Mananger John Ngo approached us and immediately offered us his assistance. After we advised him what we were looking to do, he took his time and showed us around the store. He also suggested items to us... The most important thing was that John was attentive to our need(s) as the remodeling went on (as we needed more tiles, or exchanged some decorative tiles because it didn't match, etc.). John was there every step of the way. Edward was also helpful in fulfilling our needs with the hardwood floor... Overall, we were extremely satisfy with Floor & Decor in Milpitas. My first review was about making 11 calls to Milpitas store and no one not only not answering but hanging up. I have enough eveidence and I did show this to the Ajit the representative in the Milpitas store. I have saved the proof. I had to call SL showroom to help me get in touch with the Milpitas store. Not only that after all the below experience I placed order on line and went in store to pick up. The associate at the register was so so exhausted or did not want to help, we could not figure out. Asked her where to pick up the tiles she said find a specialist or something or I forgot what name she used. Asked her to page someone she said we need to go find ourselves. Requested her to call some associate to help us, she refused. Requested her to call manager, she just did not. I asked her again where to pick up and she said just because you paid it does not mean you get delivery same day. Duhhh! My order showed delivery ready and she did not even look once. Asked her name as she had no name tag, she closed register and walked away??? Seriously. I told her I would take her picture and let her manager know and she yelled back, or give me ur name and she walked away. Meantime my husband had found looking for help and met Ajit who then helped us locate where to pick my order and make the rest of the purchases. She was either discriminating because of how we look, color or she was having a bad day. In which case she should just take time off. She literally denied help. Even the other two customers behind us noticed. Use your cameras to see her interaction with us. I had no other choice yesterday as my order was already placed or I would have gone to the San Leandro store. This review is going back up in google and yelp. Training ur staff is important. I've been working on renovating my master bathroom and had some ideas about what I wanted to do with the tile design. However I simply could not make my final decisions because something was bothering me about my choices and I couldn't quite pinpoint what was wrong. On my 5th visit to Floor & Decor in Milpitas I decided to approach a member of the staff for some assistance. Walking up to designer Prasanna yesterday was like receiving a gift from the universe. She listened very carefully to what my project entailed, closely looked at my tile choices, and started to come up with superb ideas to enhance my project. Thankfully an appointment had just canceled so she had time to walk around and show me some tiles that worked beautifully with what I had in mind. As a trained designer Prasanna brought expertise to my small project that I simply could not have done on my own, and after about 20 minutes of talking and showing me options we had changed up all the elements that were not working for me but still kept the general ideas I had originally come up with. I am very amazed that this service is free in the store because it was a professional design consultation with the added benefit of being able to look at and put together tile combinations right there. If you are struggling with a project on your own, or you just want to get a professional look without spending a fortune, you can't go wrong with the design assistance at Floor & Decor, and if you are fortunate enough to get Prasanna to help you then your project will look fantastic!
