I've been a loyal customer of the West Elm Outlet in Vacaville for many years. I've purchased both…read morenew and slightly damaged furniture from this store, and I've generally had good experiences. Last week, I purchased a media console. I carefully inspected it before buying, but unfortunately missed damage on one corner. After bringing it home, I discovered that one of the doors was far more severely damaged than I had realized. As soon as I was able, I brought the damaged door back to the store--just seven days after the purchase--and simply asked if they could exchange the door for one in better condition. I wasn't asking for a refund or a brand-new unit, just a replacement door. The store refused. Their explanation was that if they accepted it back, they would have to heavily discount the item. That response made little sense to me because they had already sold it to me in that condition without making the extent of the damage obvious. Long-time customers deserve better customer service than this. Instead of trying to help find a reasonable solution, they chose to stand behind a rigid policy. I left feeling that customer satisfaction wasn't important. I'll be much more cautious about shopping at this outlet in the future.

I was really grateful as the store and parking lot was so busy. He smiled at me, greeted me and asked me if I was finding everything okay. I found a large mirror I was interested in and I felt comfortable to come to him and ask questions. I had to adjust my car to make sure mirror would fit. He held the item at cash register for me as it was the last one, I came back and shopped a bit more and he happened to be my cashier. He also told me I could drive up and he put the mirror in my car for me. What a huge asset to Kirkland's team. I didn't see any other employee on the floor until I was rung up. The ladies were behind register just ignoring MANY customers in the store. Just an observation from a Store Manager.

The design aesthetic is modern Scandinavian - minimalist, simple, stylish and functional but with quality materials and craftsmanship. If you like midcentury American style, you may like this style as well. I find it to have similarities. But get this... the pricing is even cheaper than majority of the scratch n ding furniture outlets (RH and WS) and comparable to the others. Before you pay more for a scratch n dent, check out Scandinavian Designs. The showroom is in a beautiful stand alone building with its own parking lot. It's easy and quick to get to off Interstate 80. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. No hard selling and following eyes. The showroom is beautifully staged and customers are encouraged to sit n test. The square footage is impressive. Lots of inventory.- bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and office furniture; lighting, bedding, rugs, and art/home decor. One side is the showroom that had "final as is" furniture sales including home decor items (art work, vases, figurines, etc). On my last visit, they had bird figurines marked $5.
