The Davis and Woodland Ace Hardware did not have any, nor did the Woodland Home Depot. Who knew that the Dixon Ace Hardware would carry them and have them in stock. They set one aside for us and we immediately made the trip to Dixon. The capacitor was waiting for us and the sales person mentioned that they are the only ones in the area that carry items like that. We wandered about the store a bit, it's larger than the Davis Ace. My husband was also looking for a specific drip irrigation plug but they didn't have it in stock. Two sales members helped us look for the item and then they explained that the store will be doing a major re-do in October so they are starting to reduce inventory and the plug seemed to be one of the current reductions. Even so, the store was orderly and well stocked with other items. Our $40 purchase in hand, my husband installed it once we got home, saving probably hundreds of dollars if we had called a HVAC company to diagnose the problem and replace the capacitor. The shop is large, with an open floor layout. The furniture inventory is in pretty good condition. I didn't see broken, non functional items. They had furniture: lighting fixtures, living room (interior and exterior), dining room, bedroom, and office. RH furniture is mainly larger pieces not meant for mobility and smaller spaces. The products are beautiful and pricier due to the quality of the materials, size, and additional craftsmanship. The outlet prices are discounted from their retail pricing. From what I can see, the discounts seem comparable to the as is conditions. The majority of the design look is modern classic. They do have statement pieces screaming other styles such as bohemian and eclectic. On my last visit, as I was walking about, the 3 various sales staff walked past me without acknowledgment. Well on the plus side, they did seem to have enough staff to cover the number of customers on the weekend afternoon I dropped in.

Otherwise my experiences with customer service and inventory at this location have been very good! In particular I like their gardening section. They have lots of healthy looking plants in the clearance section! They actually water their plants. Most of the time it just seems to be making room for new arrivals. The associate calls it "the happy shelf". The employees I've interacted with have been great too! The gardening section people are nice to talk to. They actually also garden and so can tell you tips or about their own experiences. The nice thing about their plants is they have a one year guarantee. So if they die you can get a replacement or refund. I think all of the plants I've bought from Lowe's have survived so far. I can't say the same for the big orange competitor. Tip: If you're buying mulch you can simply tell the gardening register person and pull your car up to the curb for assistance. No need to load and push around a heavy cart yourself! When I went into the main store two associates helped me find a tape measurer. That's without me flagging someone down for help. The prices also seem to be fair and they often have good sales. I bought major appliances here after comparing with a couple other stores. Delivery and install was good even though it's contracted out.

Sophia, a counter salesperson, pleasantly greeted me and asked what I needed. When I told her, she remarked that she remembered having helped me with a similar order...a least six months earlier. I talking about less than $5.00 of merchandise. I was impressed. She then led me to the parts I needed and explained how to piece them together. I also needed one other thing that was harder to locate, but she patiently found what I was looking for, then took care of me at the register. I have to add that they are so convenient if you are on the freeway. They are right off the freeway at the first light.
