Sean was my rep for a pretty big house project of mine. My laundry machine leaked and damaged some flooring which had to get cut out and dried. Unfortunately the original linoleum tiles I had weren't in production anymore, but Sean and his team were very helpful in helping me pick out the next best option, and at the same time keeping my kitchen floor looking almost the same. The outcome of the whole floor replacement was perfect, and it looks amazing. The folks who actually came by to do the work were very nice and efficient as well, the whole process of stripping the old underlayment and installation of new material took a total of 2 days. They were booked for a couple months and I was unfortunately looking at an ugly kitchen for a while, but definitely worth the wait. read more

I can't say enough great things about Janka and the team at Floor Dimensions. We had gone down there last year after hearing from neighbors how much they loved their carpet. I walked through the door, and immediately latched onto a beautiful Shaw carpet that had 20 year stain warranty and protection (I had forgotten this, I just like the feeling of the carpet). Flash forward 14 months. I had some weird stains on the carpet in one area where it looked like someone had spilled something all over the place, but I knew it wasn't me and I didn't know where the spills came from. I called a pro carpet cleaner, they cleaned it, they went away for a couple of days, but then came back with a vengeance. I then called Floor Dimensions, and asked what I should do to get this cleaned. They asked for photos of the stain and the original receipt. Next thing I know, Janka is calling me to schedule a carpet inspector, and shortly after that she calls me to let me know that Shaw is going to replace the carpet. I was (and still am) stunned. These guys were great from the get-go, but they really do stand by their product. Thank you all for a fabulous experience. Floor Dimensions installed new flooring in my small bathroom, 30 sq ft. I would be careful providing your credit card information to this merchant. I gave them my cc information over the phone for the initial deposit without any concern. After the job was finished they went ahead and charged the balance from the quote along with an additional $275.00 without ever contacting me. Most merchants would contact the customer for authorization before putting through a charge, especially if the amount was more than the agreed upon price. I guess they'll keep my cc information on file for any future employees to access? read more

These guys are the absolute best!!! I contacted them through YELP! Seriously, about an hour later, I got a message answering my question! I immediately contacted them, they immediately scheduled an appointment and a day or two later, Jordan came out! First, he was on time, second he was honest, and gave me pointers on how to stay within my budget. Then I go out to the store- they have beautiful samples of all floor materials (carpet, wood, pergo, tile, padding etc!!). I was able to actually touch and see what I wanted! Adrian was also great! They were so accommodating and made every effort to get my job done quickly. Joni (I think that's her name) called often just to keep me updated and to check to make sure I was happy! We had an amazing experience all around with Floor Dimensions! After removing a broken washer revealed a disgusting mess underneath the pedestal, I started looking for a quick flooring solution (so I could do my laundry again!) Floor Dimensions responded immediately, and sent Justin out to do a visual inspection and give me knowledgeable advice on our terrifying laundry room floor situation. Sean helped me get a lightening fast estimate, pick out my vinyl flooring, booked the installation and was extremely helpful and friendly through the whole process. The crew was awesome! Kao showed up early, was very polite and friendly, and started work immediately stripping off the 20+ year old vinyl, evening out the surface with multiple layers of a kind of floor cement, and paid great attention to detail. His eagle eye spotted a tiny flaw in the new flooring after he unrolled it, and they not only sent over a new roll of vinyl, but a second workman to help make up for lost time! They both did a stellar job getting that flooring into every weird corner around pipes, the water heater and HVAC system, and it looks flawless and perfect! They finished the floor with a rubber baseboard to seal it all down, cleaned up every last bit of debris and now my floor is pristine and ready for the new appliances! Like Mike Z, I had a great experience w/ Floor Dimensions. We had had insurance work done by them in 1998 and while we loved the floor covering, the subcontractor who installed it left an annoying squeak in the bathroom floor. We called them back to fix it and it stayed fixed long enough for me to approve it and a couple of weeks later it came back. Had I been reviewing them then they would have received many fewer stars. I returned to them when I was looking for floor coverings for our front bathroom and kitchen (a friend says the most expensive words in remodeling are, "While we're at it...") and I found just the right pattern for the bathroom. The sales staff, and I dealt w/ pretty much all of them in several trips to the store, were uniformly helpful, beginning w/ Janka, who explained the labels' color coding to determine the quality of each sample. I left a $20 deposit and took several batches of samples to test on each floor before settling on what I wanted. I paid for it and we scheduled installation for today because of a combination of our schedule and theirs. The workers were due to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 this morning. They arrived a few minutes before 8:30 and went to work. They installed both floors and were waiting for me when I returned from grocery shopping at 1:00. One even helped me carry my groceries in. The floors look spectacular. It was a pleasant and painless process and I would definitely deal w/ them again if the need arose. Addendum: About 4:00 in the afternoon I went to make a pot of tea and discovered they hadn't turned the gas for the stove back on. I called the store several times w/o answer but we reached them Tuesday morning and the installers came out a couple of hours later and took care of it. They were apologetic and it was quickly fixed. After eight years of wanting a new floor to replace white carpet in my guest room and office, I was referred to Floor Dimensions to get Bamboo flooring by my designer. After looking at samples and making a plan, several ideas were presented and I borrowed a few samples to show my husband. I did some comparison shopping ... and Floor Dimensions had the best prices. They also were the most flexible when it came to our schedule and how we wanted one room done at a time. They really listed and responded to our individual needs. Highly recommended. There's various ways to judge a business. The easiest of course being when everything goes smoothly and everyone is happy. Another way though is when things don't go according to plan and the business does everything they can to make sure the situation turns out right. I think that's what sets Floor Dimensions apart from many other stores I've dealt with when a problem has come up. In my case it was a problem with the supplier and the retailer but the owner stepped in and made sure everything turned out right. Many other places would have simply tuned me out since I had already purchased and installed the product (some hardwood flooring). In my case the owner stepped up and made sure I was happy even though it wouldn't appear to be beneficial to them (in the short term at least). They have a wide selection of flooring and truly stand behind the sale and I think that's harder and harder to find these days. A store that says they stand behind their product and it's not simply lip sync. I will definitely be using them again. read more

As a designer, I have been working with Floor Dimensions since 2000. My relationship with them solidified when I found Teresa Soloman there. She was a wonderful saleswoman who established very proactive service and rapport with my office and our clients we would send there. She was extremely helpful and had great follow-through. My clients raved about her service and their experience purchasing Marmoleum, vinyl, carpeting and wood flooring. When Teresa left, we had some less great service from a few new sales guys for a period of a year or so. At some point I became aware of the owner, Janka, becoming more involved and a big shift in the staff and dynamic again. Sean has been our go-to person for clients service and helps our office obtain samples for various commercial and residential projects. Recently, we had an unfortunate situation that was not the fault of Floor Dimensions but with a specific high end product line. Once installed, the Carpeting had a coloring that was completely off from anything like the normal gradation you would expect from a textile material in all my 30 years of expericence. It was a putrid color that was unforeseen and completely unacceptable. Floor Dimensions, Janka and Sean all worked with the highest professional standards with my client to resolve the issue even when the carpet company would not. My client was extremely pleased with the final result and the care and service provided by Floor Dimensions, as was I. We just bought a townhouse and realized that we needed to replace the hardwood as well as the carpet throughout. After looking at a number of stores we settled on Floor Dimensions due to their location and their huge selection. We worked with Adrian, and found that he was very personable and low pressure. He showed us all the different choices from low to high, and explained very carefully what the advantages and disadvantages of each level of quality were. He encouraged us to take lots of samples home and look at it in the house under different kinds of light, so that we would end up with something that we really liked after installation. My husband and I were looking to carpet our bedrooms and install hardwood in the living room. Floor Dimensions was our first stop and after seeing the selection and working with Jason we didn't bother visiting any other stores. Jason is very personable and spent time with us showing us all the options. We ended up choosing a carpet that was in stock and on sale, and they also had a VERY good price on carbonized bamboo. The bamboo was about half what it is cost else where. We were specifically shopping for tongue and groove flooring so we could install it ourselves, and Jason was very helpful giving us tips and reassurance that we could do it ourselves. The finished product is beautiful. The carpets are great quality (we went with Shaw's middle pile and upgrade the pad to the memory foam), very soft and nice to walk on. The wood is also beautiful. It was really easy to install, we're very happy we saved the money to do it ourselves. If we have to do anymore flooring in the future we will definitely work with Jason again. read more

Floor Dimensions were great at every juncture. Tracy in sales in the showroom and then arranging installments of new kitchen flooring, laundry room flooring and carpeting on stairway. The flooring and carpeting look great and the installers were respectful and professional. Later, when a part of the kitchen flooring appeared to be lifting, they came to repair in a day or two at no cost. The repairer fixed the flooring and alerted me that the dishwasher had developed a leak that was causing it. I hadn't see that due to the cover at bottom of dishwasher. I needed to re-do the kitchen floor in my rental unit, so I went to my local Floor Dimensions and asked their advice. They gave me some recommendations and walked me through how to install it myself. When it didn't turn out well, I went back to them with some feedback and to ask for help in fixing the issues, some of which had to do with the condition of the subfloor. They were patient and responsive and eventually we made a deal where their installers came to install the flooring themselves. It turned out great, looks terrific and I am quite pleased with how fair they were and especially that they stuck with things to make sure I was satisfied. This review is long overdue. We have a in an old building and we were literally loosing our floor. Ryan came from floor dimensions to give us a quote and after looking at several other alternatives decided to go with them. Best thing we could have possibly have done. Jason then worked with us through the whole process and what a process. Our building is 100 years old and the floor had not been touched in 38 years. We knew we had sub floor damage and boy did we. They tore out the old floor and fixed all damage. Then came the new floor. WOW! It's fantastic. Jason even told us we had money left to do our bathroom (which we did). He didn't have to tell us that but he did. They not only came in at what they bid but we also got a little extra. Our floor before had high and low spots and now it's all level. We could not be happier with Floor Dimensions. We replaced an old vinyl floor in our kitchen with a checker board Marmolium tile floor. We worked with just about everyone at the sales office while going through the process of choosing the right color, type of tile, etc. All were just great. When the big day came, the installer showed up right on time and did the job in one day. It turned out just terrific. The installer, I believe the name is Lak, was professional in the extreme. He went to the trouble of going back to the shop to find just the right wood transition strip to match the adjoining hardwood floor. The kitchen is old and has lots of tight corners, closets, etc. The old linoleum had lots of bumps and inconsistencies. Lak created a smooth underlayment covering all the issues. He laid the tiles out perfectly, the final product is flawless. You cannot go wrong with Floor Dimensions, we won't go anywhere else from now on. read more

On March 11, 2009, we placed an order for hardwood Armstrong Century Farm Hickory Natural engineered wood planks, to be installed in our master bedroom. We were told that the materials would arrive in two to three weeks. A month later, we received a call to arrange an installation on Friday, April 17. The scheduler said that there would be two men working so there would be no problem in completing it in one day. The installers would stay until the job was finished. I also was told that they would be responsible for moving pieces of heavy furniture out of the room and later putting it back (in our case, this only involved a big chest of drawers with a tv on top and our king-size bed). I am 68 and my husband is 71, so we were relieved that we didn't have to deal with moving these larger items. Anticipating our new floor and assuming Floor Dimensions' would follow through as promised, we moved most of the things out of the bedroom into a guest room, just leaving the essentials. I called on the Tuesday before the installation was scheduled to make sure it was going to happen and learned that the flooring hadn't arrived, so the installation was cancelled. At that time, the scheduler told me that the truckers would not leave unless they had a full load. I mentioned that it would have been helpful if someone had told us that there could be a delay when we placed our order. We understand that the depressed economy can cause problems for businesses, and we would have been prepared, at least, for it not arriving on time. We also wouldn't have packed up our bedroom for so long, a real inconvenience. I was told that the order was scheduled to arrive the following Tuesday and another installation date was set up for the following Friday, April 24. I called on Tuesday (I always initiated these calls; no one from Floor Dimensions contacted me to let me know what was going on) to see if the materials had arrived. Eventually I heard back from someone and was told they were now scheduled to arrive on Thursday, April 23. However, when I called on April 23, I was told they were delayed again. I was furious! Why hadn't someone checked this out the previous day and alerted me sooner to what was happening? By now, the whole thing was anti-climactic and our excitement about getting new floors had plummeted. Finally, on Thursday, April 30, the materials turned up and we were scheduled for Friday, May 1. The installer showed up at 8 AM (we were told 8:30 AM) with three Mexican workers who helped him dismantle and move the bed, as well as the big chest. The Mexicans left. I assumed they would return later in the day to help the installer move these things back into our bedroom. They didn't. Also, the installer wasn't able to complete the work in one day and said he would have to return on Saturday morning to finish it. He was ready to leave when I asked him where my husband and I were supposed to sleep that night. (Our small guest room was packed with the other items from our bedroom.) He agreed to try and assemble the bed, but, since my husband was working, I had to help him move the bed components and reassemble it, not something I should have to do at my age and with a bad back. Then the installer had to arrange for his son to join him in the morning to finish up the job and move the dresser back into the bedroom. In other words, the installation department had messed up and their worker ended up needing to resolve things. I called once a week earlier, trying to reach the manager, in order to express my frustration. She wasn't there. I told someone in sales about the problems I had encountered, and he said he would tell her. She never got back to me. I called again on the installation day when I discovered the work wouldn't be done in one day as promised and that I was going to have to help move the bed back into place myself, which wasn't part of the agreement. Again, she wasn't there and no one got back to me from management (nor does she post her email address on the website, though the other staff do, so I couldn't send her an email). This apparent lack of concern for their customer's satisfaction is really unacceptable and unprofessional. The only good thing that has come out of this transaction is the floor itself, which is beautiful, though some of the beveled edges aren't beveled and don't match up, leaving cracks that shouldn't be there. This has been the worst experiences I've had with a company as a consumer. read more

This has got to be one of the rare instances where I'm very glad I didn't check Yelp first. Janka and Floor Dimensions were a pleasure to work with, from allowing me to borrow samples to take home (deposit is returned when one returns the samples) to warning me about the backorder situation, and then negotiating an installation date. Granted, my kitchen and laundry porch is a small job, but the two gentlemen who handled the linoleum install and repairs to the underlying floor structure were efficient and tidy. I had to be told where the single seam was (so I'd avoid sloshing water until the adhesives had fully dried and settled). I'm still admiring the beautiful job at the base of the cabinet corners (okay, I'm a detail geek). And I was given the scraps for my future science experiments/projects. read more

The worst. The husband and wife proprietors were the epitome of once they have your money for the sale, they don't give a dang about you. I had marmoleum installed by a very whiny worker who was over worked and told me he was supposed to have one other guy to help him, so the job took twice as long as I was told by the sales person (one of the owners). Then I had to go over to the store after the job was completed to pick up the linoleum floor cleaner that was supposed be delivered at the time of installation. When I asked my sales person about it, she didn't even look my way or say goodbye after handing me the container. Amazing. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. this place carries several options for your flooring solutions. carpets, rugs, tiles, vinyl, hardwoods, laminate floors... when we dropped by on saturday, they were having some sort of sale on certain hardwood floorings... there was actually quite a big selection of different types of woods and finishes... full priced hardwood and laminates (which is what we came to look for) are quite pricy in comparison to other places we've so far browsed... the ones on sale were at decent prices, but the one i liked was of course sold out already... there were several sales people around the store, but they let you roam around freely and look around until you have any questions for them read more

In desperation I contacted Floor Dimensions. I needed a chemical free floor because we have chemical sensitivities, and I needed it ASAP so we could move in. The only other providers were exorbitantly expensive or booked weeks in advance. Floor Dimensions came to my rescue. Their price was fair. They stored the carpet that was in the home so it could be given to someone else, who did not have chemical sensitivities--for free. There was some confusion about the installation date. They apologized and did not charge me for leveling, which would have been extra. And, the floors look great! I am a satisfied customer. read more

So, overall I'm very pleased w/ floor dimensions. We recently had them pull up our basement carpeting and replace with hardwood, as well as recarpet the steps and deliver an area rug. They did a quality job and were very pleasant to work with - Jason took great care of us. We did have a few unexpected challenges... The pros: - price: we found the hardwood we liked, then shopped around a bunch of stores, and felt like floor dimensions gave us the best price. The tricky bit is that everyone finds different ways to add things back in - they might offer "free tax" but then don't discount the materials as much as others - so it's important to figure out a way to compare apples to apples. For that matter, installation costs vary dramatically. The important thing is to negotiate - everything went down dramatically when we started talking to multiple places. But once we put everything together, it felt like Jason gave us the best, most comprehensive price. - installation quality: the guys who showed up (on time) to do the work did a great job. The floor looks beautiful. Carpet looks professional. - Quick turnaround: it was only a week and half after we placed the order that they started installation, which was great. The lessons learned: - unexpected cost: when Terry came out to measure and give a final quote, he didn't think we'd have an issue w/ leveling, but once they got the carpet up and looked at the concrete, it became apparent that we did (I don't blame him for not knowing up front - I can see that it would be difficult to know for sure). That was an unexpected $1k, and of course we were going to pay it, b/c we were already committed to the rest of the order. I was convinced it was a necessary cost - when you looked at a plank of wood on the concrete you could see that it wasn't level. I just wish we had gotten a quote for how much that would cost just in case it was needed when we first got the estimate for the entire job. That way we would have been able to negotiate with that as part of it, and decide whether we wanted to go forward up front. - installation over the weekend: originally we were scheduled for a wed-fri installation, so our basement wouldn't be torn up too long. When we had to do the concrete leveling, suddenly it required another day, which pushed us to Monday to be done. Again, if we had realized it was possible this might come up, we'd have suggested starting the installation earlier in the week (or the following week) to avoid a weekend disruption. - delay in our area rug: we were supposed to have our area rug installed when the floor was finished, which would have made sense since we paid them to move all the furniture as part of the project. But the rug was delayed and they didn't tell us it was going to be delayed. I had to call a couple times to track it down. It did arrive two days later, so not a huge delay, but then the delivery guy seemed surprised that I expected him to set it up instead of just drop it off.
