Their carpet installations have been good but the flooring we recently purchased was not well aligned and with chipped panels on some of the stairs exposing the concrete underneath. Their measurement for ordering flooring was insufficient to cover requiring a second order that took almost 3 additional weeks to install. Although it was their error they charged us for the additional flooring as well as freight charges a second time. Unfortunate for us as a customer with little choice but to pay for their error.

We were scheduled for a Saturday, but had to call the Friday before to find out what time. We were informed that it would be around 1-3 PM because the crew wants to do another job before ours. We didn't like that, but there was nothing we could do. We were told the crew would call us an hour before they arrive. We eventually got a call and were told they can't come and want to reschedule for Monday. That's not an option because we do not currently live at the residence and we work during the week. This is why we scheduled a Saturday and we even left the entire day open for them because they didn't know when exactly they would be coming. Then some sketchy guy with an unlisted number called us and said he was referred to us by John (no idea who that is). He said to reschedule the job with Barrys and this guy named Kevin would come and do the job for much cheaper today. He said definitely don't cancel the appointment - just reschedule. It was super weird, but we were desperate. In the end, no one showed up. Still don't know who Kevin or John are, but considering we only contacted one company about the floors, we are guessing someone from Barrys contacted them. This is just a terrible way to run a business.

He showed me some options while another gentleman gave me a book to take home and told me to go online and try the flooring in my room online. I called on a Friday to inform them I would be off the following Saturday I was told to call Saturday morning and Bob would be able to help me. I called & Bob came over and took the measurements with no pre-appointment I was able to go back to the store and get some large sample boards and take them home and see how they looked in the lighting in my house awesome customer service by all the staff. Starting in August 24, 2023 Mike called me back with a price for the work I needed done. Him & his staff Sabrina & Bob were absolutely awesome. Fortunately & unfortunately for me when Sabrina & crew came by to lay the floor down my subflooring was rotted & when I asked about the kitchen I was told my dishwasher was placed under the subfloor & if the floor was put in & the dishwasher failed or needed to be replaced (which I was planning on) the floor, countertops & cabinets would have to be ripped out. Wait! What?! Dayum! Wasn't expecting that. Because of their honesty & integrity I later found out that The back room was improperly installed on a wooden deck that is rotting and sinking into the ground so now my back room has to be demolished and rebuilt! UGHH!! And to think all because I wanted a new floor. Soooooo! Now all these months later I'm still figuring out what needs to be remodeled & what actually can be remodeled. Not having fun yet. I started looking at the usual suspects--Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, and IKEA--for area rugs at my new place. I was getting pretty frustrated with their lack of selection and their inability to accommodate the unique dimensions of the rooms. One of my friends recommend Carpets & Us, which is close to where I grew up on Long Island. It may be a small business, but it has the biggest carpet selection I have ever seen! I cannot say enough about the staff; they are phenomenal! They are all extremely knowledgeable and really took the time to listen to my needs. The first carpet they recommended was exactly what I was looking for and even custom cut it to fit my apartment perfectly! They truly seemed invested in making sure I got exactly what I needed within my price range and treated me like family. Oh, I forgot to mention they even do custom flooring! This is now the only place I'll go for my carpeting and flooring needs.
