So this project is in re-do process, so please stand by for an update. I would normally wait until something is done...but this started in May of 2022. I met with Dan and Hannah, who both appear to be super nice and amazing people. I think Hannah especially has great customer service. So we went ahead and decided to get flooring done through them for a 3400 sq foot house. They fit us in for our timeline before moving in, where then after we moved in we saw issues that revolve around leveling floors and poor workmanship in areas they didnt think we would see (under dishwasher, under built in cabinet drawers, etc). We have squeaking, popping, floating boards and areas needing caulking. I called Dan and had him walk through with "JV Flooring Install" who did the install. Not sure what the disconnect was but neither Dan nor JVs didn't really own the issue or actually say I was right in how I felt etc. Although they agreed to redo the areas I marked. It was weird. I am a manager and owning an issue and making an amends is typically how I remedy an issue. So a crew came in (Mind you I repainted my entire interior of my home) and it was a disaster trying to do this while we have all our furniture in. The worker Eddie said nothing was leveled. They simply put floor over old floor without self leveling. He showed me a leveler and called the initial installer who said he was directed by Dan to just throw it on top and not level. I have not heard back on Dan's side, as now Hannah is helping me, but I imagine someone made this call. I was very clear I wanted level floors (Plus who the heck wants new flooring with issues???). They came in to do the initial fixes with self leveling, but I ended up with a lot of damaged baseboards, my cabinets by the floor are damaged and have self leveling stuck to it. You can see uneven cuts and no caulking to even try to hide it. They focused on patching areas I FOUND, instead of just self leveling everything right. The kitchen area they pulled (to get to the two areas I flagged as squeaking/popping) is not level. So I am pretty frustrated. THE ENTIRE HOUSE HAS TO BE REDONE. WITH ALL OUR FURNITURE in. What is sad is there is no management going on here. If there was issues, as a manager, I would go verify work is done right...check in with the owner...apologize for the inconvenience...make sure the owner knows the damaged trim (if that was expected) would be fixed. I even have some drywall and door paint damage. There is no oversight going on for my project other than some logistics on who is coming. Typically you even offer a discount for the nightmare...but I havent even got to that because I Just want this over with. I hope this all gets fixed and I can end this story with a compliment. For reference, I have done a complete build of a home...a complete separate renovation, and on a third house new flooring as well. So three other complete flooring projects and have NEVER seen this happen to this magnitude. I didnt know I had to tell them what needed to be done. Photos attached are only a few. I felt very compelled to warn others before they get into the same predicament.

They did an excellent job. Cheaper than the 1st flooring company. Which floors plus had to redo entire house. Less money/ half the time.

Floors Plus floored and carpeted our whole house and did an amazing job. Dan and Maryssa were amazing to work with, we are so happy with the selection of our new floors and Berber carpet. They went above and beyond to get the job done with high quality and on time, and at a good price. They are definitely the best in the Morgan Hill/Gilroy Area, I highly recommend Floors Plus.

This company is OUTSTANDING!…read more I now have my new hardwood flooring company for all who I cross paths with. The quality of detail is tremendous and the customer service that we received from Benji is bar none. The entire house had original hardwood floors from 21 years ago, Benji and his team renovated the entire house and made them current. And then changed out the wall to wall carpet in all of the bedrooms and closets to have the exact matching hardwood floors color and style up to date as if the entire house was Re floored. Wonderful thanks to Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors for their installation, sanding, refinishing, and custom work - all perfection!!

He responded back via email. We met in person and he brought out samples. Our concerns were that we were going to do the floors before a kitchen remodel, we have a small house, and a lot of stuff - where and how would we get ready for them? Benji assured us his guys would move our furniture. We decided on a three phase project. We started in the three bedrooms and hall. They moved furniture into the living room and worked on phase one. Then we needed a few days break, moved items back into the bedrooms. They came back and worked on the living room, dining room and entry (phase 3 kitchen will happen in the future). Gary was the main person my husband worked with. There was one hick-up when it came to getting the cork as the supplier increased their prices. We ended up having a thicker cork and it worked out much better minimizing the gap between the bottom of the doors and floor. There was some miscommunication about the baseboard material. But when we talked to Benji, he made sure that they installed material as per our agreement. We are very happy, they were professional, quality workmanship, took care to label doors and clean up. We look forward to Phase 3 after we remodel our kitchen.

We had been considering engineered hardwood but that would have cost 4 times as much. Today the installation was completed. His crew was fast, hard working, professional, and pleasant. After they left, I realized that some of the furniture was not where we wanted it and we were unable to move it ourselves. Even though it was a Friday afternoon with miserable traffic, Jerry and his son came back and moved the furniture for us. That was above and beyond. The floors are beautiful. The price we paid was terrific. We highly recommend Five Star Floors to anyone in the bay area who needs expert flooring installed. They live up to their name!

I chose S&G Carpet because I already knew they had a reputation for outstanding customer service…read more That reputation was confirmed when I experienced an issue with my new flooring several months after installation. Although the repair was neither simple nor inexpensive, S&G handled the situation professionally, promptly, and without hesitation. They stood behind their work, corrected the problem at no cost to me, and remained focused on ensuring I was completely satisfied throughout the entire process. A special thank you to Mike Menacho for his exceptional customer service and for seeing the issue through to a successful resolution. It's refreshing to work with a company that truly stands behind its products and customers. I've recommended S&G Carpet to friends and family for years, and after this experience, I'll continue to do so with complete confidence.

A week ago, I went to S & G Carpet and More, San Jose, preparing for my home floor upgrade from the…read moreexisting carpet area (around 1500 sqft) to hardwood floors. This Friday (August 14th) morning, a S & G employee named Mike was sent to my home as scheduled for a quotation. It turned out to be a very unpleasant experience for my wife and myself. Mike's poor knowledge level was exposed after I raised a few questions to him. That's fine as long as he could give us a quotation after his inspection and measurements. However, his answers to the two questions I asked him later really mattered. I believe that most homeowners care about these two questions as well when it comes to home carpet replacement or upgrade to hardwood floors. As my last question to Mike, I asked him if he could share some experience or the common practice with us on how they handled the situation when termite activities were found from the wood sub-floor right after the existing carpet was removed. I told him that if this happens in my case I need to spray Bora Care immediately for the treatment. But it requires 48 hours at least for the wood subfloor to dry out. Without delay, Mike replied to me that you need to remove all the carpet by yourself and do the termite inspection and treatment to get ready for us to come for the hardwood floor installation. I was stunned by his reply. At this moment (36 hours later), I still don't think that is what S & G requires its customers to do in advance. If He had no such experience, he could have told me that he would check with his colleagues and get back to me asap. Instead he gave me such an irresponsible solution which is totally unacceptable. This also further justified my 2nd to the last question to Mike - how S & G makes sure that the 3rd party subcontractor they'll send over to our home does a good job without quality issues as we expected? I raised this question not because I don't trust S & G as Mike pushed it back. As a consumer or homeowner, we don't know which subcontractor will be sent by S & G to us to implement the project, thus there is no way for us to check their performance records through Yelp and/or Google reviews. If a subcontractor with Mike's performance level is assigned, our floor upgrade project could run into troubles. At that time who will take the responsibility, the subcontractor or S & G? Of course, S & G won't be my choice anymore. One last thing to complain about, at the tail end, Mike spoke with someone on the phone and then went upstairs again without letting us know while both of us were downstairs. Later we found out that he cut and lifted the existing carpet at a corner upstairs.
