Vegan waffles are pretty hard to come by unless you make them yourself, in my experience. I had Flora at their ferry building farmers market pop up and it was delicious! Loved having their all vegan gelato and waffles together. Definitely looking forward to my next time seeing them!

I was a bit intrigued about the new vegan ice cream option at the Saturday farmers market. Seems heavily nut based, so what I tried was quite rich. I think I prefer the flavors with a lot of ingredients so I don't focus as much on missing the dairy. Devoto Heirloom Apple-Pecan Crisp: Pretty darn tasty for vegan. Was creamy, nicely spiced, good apple fruit tones. Especially loved the alcohol in the mix. A very sophisticated palate. Cento Coffee Stracciatella: Strong coffee and dark chocolate flavors. It was creamy, but not as creamy as dairy-based coffee ice cream. Still decent. Knoll Farms Black Mission Fig: I'm generally not a fan of vinegar in desserts, but they found the right balance. Just a touch to give an accent to the grainy figs and smooth almond milk. Felt so fancy with fig ice cream. Frog Hollow Farms Flavor King Pluot: Probably the most subtle of the flavors. It was alright, but only got this to be comprehensive. Waffle: Didn't even notice that this was vegan. Had a great chewy texture. Perfect with two scoops of ice cream, really the breakfast that you deserve on a Saturday.

Ferry farmer's market, 9/21/24

In mid-September, they had a stand at the Saturday's Ferry farmer's market just behind McGinnis Ranch's stand in the front area. I walked over but there were several customers and I was in a rush to finish my shopping. The following Saturday when I picked up my strawberries, there were no customers when I walked up and decided to take the plunge. After looking at the menu (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=rfFHXHeajQidNQB1Irfs4Q), I asked the young lady which she recommended between the Cento Coffee Stracciatella and the TCHO chocolate hazelnut gelatos. I chose the chocolate hazelnut on a waffle (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=5gaGsUQ-oW_ydpaqzpe9HA); the waffle was heated before building that dessert. I liked and was surprised by the creaminess of the gelato and really am surprised that this is a non-dairy product. Pairing this with a warm, crispy waffle is pure genius as this felt like a sundae more than a breakfast item. Having this at 10:30 am, this was my breakfast. The young gal who took my order was helpful in steering me to the chocolate as I'm not a big coffee person. But, you never know as coffee might be my choice next visit.

4.0 stars for breakfast--see dinner review below (5.0 stars)There are sooo many good brunch spots…read morein SF. In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. It took a long time for the single employee to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. Cappuccino was very good in a cute "bear mug" and very reasonably priced. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Dinner-5++ stars; 4 of us Had dinner last night-6pm-reso but not needed. only one other group dining. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

Came here on a Saturday for brunch…read more I got the Holy Chili Bomb Basil Omelette. It had ground chicken and veggies inside, and the chicken and basil were the flavors that stood out. I wouldn't call it spicy at all. The omelette felt small for the price and there wasn't much filling inside. It came with a side of potatoes that were really good. They had a nice crisp on the outside and were soft on the inside. I also got a regular coffee, and they do unlimited refills. The place was busy for brunch, and I liked the bear theme. Some of the coffees came in bear-shaped glasses, and some of the lattes had a decorative bear made out of ice.

If you're looking for an incredible breakfast burrito in San Francisco, this is the place! I had…read morethe bacon and avocado breakfast burrito, and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. My only suggestion would be to offer salsa, as I think it would pair even better with the burrito. Other than that, everything was fantastic. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Francisco!

Il Canto is a TINY little spot- pickup only, no real seating inside (a few outdoor tables if you're…read morelucky), and you basically have to line up on the curb to order and wait for your name to be called for your to-go bag. We shared the Meatlovers Breakfast Burrito with potatoes to share. The tortilla is grilled, which is a nice touch, but it was mostly just eggs and it would have been nice if the potatoes were hash browns. We couldn't taste or even see a hint of the chipotle sauce that's supposed to be in it, so we asked for a side of salsa and got the most non-salsa, salsa I've ever had...it basically tasted like fresh and plain puréed tomatoes. I'm a pretty big breakfast burrito lover and while this is a decent burrito....it was nothing that wowed me, and there were definitely a few things that could've been improved. Not sure why this place has so much hype around it, but it's not a bad option if you're in the area and need a quick grab-and-go bite.
