    Vegan empanada

I have been meaning to drop by for some time now for lunch! With so many good lunch spots at the Ferry Building it can get hard to choose. Well, Mariposa bakery has plenty of baked goods, pastries, baguettes, bread, cookies etc. They are known for their gluten free options. I ordered their vegan empanada and it was delicious! Small but mighty! They heated it up so the exterior had a bit of a crunch to it. Inside had potatoes, carrots with a hearty curry flavor. Enjoyed the sun sitting outside, it was wonderful!

I tried the bagel and didn't like this too much. I had better gluten free bagels, but my partner got a hot breakfast sandwich and I liked the bread for the sandwich way more. I'd get that next time I visit. I purchased flour for $7.50, a bag of 4 biscuits for $20, and a couple of croissants which I don't remember how much. I took advantage of their day old pastry discount, got a chocolate croissant and toasted it in the air fryer when I got home. It was delicious! Also those biscuits were crazy addicting. As you can see, I got very trigger happy with their offerings. I will definitely do it again and shop my heart out

This place offers the most delectable sweet and savory pastries, pies, sandwiches, and more. It was so hard to choose what to get when everything was so tempting! I opted to try the bacon olive and cheese spiral, and mariposa mcbiscuit. Wow, that biscuit was so buttery and tasted freshly baked, the egg and melted cheese adding to the delicious breakfast treat. The bacon olive and cheese spiral was even better, the flavor and texture of that bread light, buttery, and just addicting. Service was great, the line to order went fast, and the wait time for our food was about 15 minutes or so, not bad considering it was a special event day (Fleet Week festivities in the area, hence the crowds).

This is a MECCA for those with Celiac! Luis was super helpful and made some great suggestions. The croissants are LEGIT! My non GF friends loved their breakfast sandwiches and we all took some treats home for later. Ferry Building so so great to walk around and the Mariposa location is in the center of it all!

I was really impressed by Mariposa Baking! There were so many options of baked goods to choose from, it was hard to decide what I wanted! I settled on a more savory filling option of a bacon and egg sandwich. It was really good, the gluten free bread was up there as one of the best I've had! I would definitely like to come back and try some of the baked goods. The pop-tarts were especially intriguing!

Tried the biscuit egg sandwich and the cinnamon roll. While waiting for our breakfast sandwiches, looking at the display cases made me wish I had a small fortune and a thousand stomachs. The variety of GF offerings is amazing; I had never even seen some of the foods in GF version before (e.g. biscotti, hand pies). While waiting, customers stopped by, only to keep walking after announcing, "Oh it's all gluten-free." You do not need to be GF to enjoy these very yummy foods! I LOVED my sandwich (hadn't had a biscuit since before my celiac diagnosis!) and my sibling, not GF, also really enjoyed their food and gave this place a 5-star review. My cinnamon roll was yummy even when eaten the next morning and microwaved (I know, I know, would have put in oven if not in a rush to get to the airport!) Will definitely be back at one of their locations the next time I'm in the Bay Area

While in San Francisco, I kept hearing about Mariposa Baking from all my gluten free foodie friends. I was luckily staying right across the street so I got to enjoy breakfast and lunch here a few times! The first time I got an "everyseed" bagel because bagels are one of the things I miss the most in my gluten free diet. The bagel is definitely not an "everything" bagel as it was missing the salt on top. I found it to be a bit lackluster in flavor because of this. They also no longer carry lox which I was sad to find out upon arrival since it appears in some menus online. The next time I visited Mariposa, I got a spinach and feta pocket and a ham and cheese pocket. Both were a massive serving size and too big to finish in one sitting - but both very delicious! I definitely recommend stopping by if you are gluten free because this place has some of the tastiest and also most beautiful GF pastries I've ever seen.

Best GF bakery I've ever had! If you are GF try this place for sure!! Most GF bakeries I e had have been sweet focused, but this place also has savory. When was the last time you had a GF hot pocket or cheese pie thing??? Never? oh right! But alas, this place has it. Line could be better organized because it gets cluttered in the small hallway, but it moved fast enough. Last mention: the donut holes. Great fresh, but absolutely amazing the next morning paired with hot coffee! I haven't found a donut hole with same texture as a gluten hole until now. Loved this place, a local gem of GF goodies. Wish I had a place like this where I lived.

Amazing food- all gluten free. Options my children and I (all celiac) have never enjoyed before. Had to walk a bit from a paid lot just to get here, but worth it. It's inside the Ferry building with other small stores and vendors. Go early if you want a selection. We even bought some cinnamon rolls for the next morning.

Have tried a few things here! Appreciate allergen friendly options (although will note limited vegan options). Have really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and cake. Would probably pass on the apple hand pie (slightly dry, but good filling) / bear claw (not my thing)

While wandering through the Ferry building on a rainy Saturday, I needed a treat. The Ferry building was packed, and there are baked goods at just about every turn. Mariposa caught my eye because their muffins looked so sumptuous. The store is very small, but they have a good variety of baked and savory items. There are lunch items like pizzas and bagels, some ready made pastas to cook at home, and of course, lots of sweets. The line was about 10 deep, but it went pretty fast. I got a berry muffin, which was moist and fruity. I didn't realize this at the time, but they have many allergen free items (nut-free, milk-free, gluten-free, soy-free, etc.)

Service was okay - there's no menu and it was hard for us to figure out what was what and if there were additional donuts available in the racks in the back that weren't on display. We wanted to get a dozen of assorted flavors to bring to work to share, and the worker at the time didn't seem to have any patience so we grabbed a random assortment of the 3 flavors in front of us. I got a guava malasada and a creme brulee donut to share as our post-meal dessert, and enjoyed the guava malasada. It was perfectly light and fluffy, coated with sugar, and jam packed with plenty of gauva jam - maybe even a little too much jam. The creme brulee donut was just okay, the sugar was melted so there was no crisp shattering snap, and it mostly just tasted like torched sugar on a custard donut. I'm not the biggest donut fan, but the malasada was good - I didn't know they had malasadas, so I might come back for one when I'm in the area and have the craving for one, though I wish the fillings were custard based instead of straight jam.

And yes, they gave a couple of surprise donuts which we didn't know was a thing. Everyone is tense and crabby these days (for good reason), so such a small move can really make someone's day. Parking is super easy around the area, which is a rarity in SF. Shop is bright and airy, with the most adorable pastel color scheme. I ordered two of their milk chocolate donuts ($5 each), a key lime meringue donut ($6), a blueberry & lime donut ($5), and a caramel apple donut ($6). Donuts are on the pricier side, but the presentation and use of high quality ingredients makes up for it. The sourdough donuts themselves aren't nearly as sweet as standard donuts and have a soft, bouncy texture. The milk chocolate donut was absolutely decadent. Upon first bite, you can immediately tell this donut was topped with real melted milk chocolate. This was levels above a typical chocolate glazed donut. The flakey sea salt garnished on top balanced out the sweetness nicely. Although I will say that I found the richness of the chocolate to clash slightly with the tanginess of the sourdough donut. The key lime meringue donut had a super tart key lime filling and was topped with fluffy meringue. Definitely the most eye catching of the donuts I picked up. But the key lime filling was a bit too punchy and sour for my liking. The glaze on the blueberry & lime donut had a potent and fresh blueberry flavor that went well with the lime zest sprinkled on top. The caramel apple donut was my favorite. The caramelized apple filling paired with the cream cheese frosting and graham cracker crumbs was almost like eating an apple pie + cheesecake fusion but as a donut! Overall, a solid donut place that I'd return to if I'm ever in need of a special treat!
