Based on the reviews of this place and wanting to support smaller businesses in the area I thought I would give this place a try. If I could 0 stars I would. What is pictured is not what they sell, be weary. I ordered the Love Letter for Valentine's Day. It shows 4 red roses, 2-3 white or light pink roses, 2 daisy's and some baby's breath all in a beautiful red envelope. Well let me tell you that is NOT what we received. We got a pastel purple envelope with 1 pink carnation, 1 dirty almost brown rose and 1 pale pink rose (see attached photos). It was hideous definitely not VALENTINE'S. I attempted to call the shop after delivery at least 7 times with no response. I messaged their facebook with no response. I text the phone number on the voicemail when you call and a woman responded a few hours later and asked my name, when I gave it to her she never responded. I ended up going to the shop in person and was told there was no one there who could help me the person at the front was just "helping" for the day. I understand valentine's day is busy but my order is just as important as others. While there the phone did nothing but ring and no one would answer it. The next day I waited until after 12 PM for a call figuring that was enough time to get their bearings from a busy day prior.... still no call, so I called and spoke w/ Erin who stated she was "JUST ABOUT TO CALL YOU." At this point I don't believe that. I explained what happen in great detail and my frustrations. I was asked what we could do to rectify and was told they would not give me a reimbursement as the recipient received something (ARE YOU KIDDING). I offered to bring it back b/c it was horrendous and I would not have willingly purchased 3 flowers for almost $50. I was then told that each flower in my order was approximately $12 a flower (I can purchase 10 carnations for less that $6 and I can get a dozen roses for $19.99 at Jewel). I explained that I understood that the time, foam and flowers as well as delivery all cost money but what we paid for and what we got is shameful. No where in the description online did it indicate that the flowers would be changed out (which would have been fine as I know seasonally some flowers are in season and some are not) or what is ordered is subject to change by the shop without asking the customer. I was told a manager would call me back and here we are 4 days later and still no response. I will never recommend this place. I placed this order b/c everyone deserves to feel special when they get a delivery of flowers. Lesson learned, not all small businesses deserve our money. I will stick to Debi's Designs, Larkin Florist or Town & Country from here on out. Deplorable business model and management at this place. -100/10 recommend. read more

I. LOVE. TINA!!! I met Tina when she had a shop at Banbury Fair in Bartlett, where I got married. I'd had a bad experience with another florist, and was anxious about how Tina would like my ideas... my color combination... my centerpieces... She not only liked them, she loved and ran with them! I am a disabled bride, and walk with a crutch. Instead of holding a bouquet, I wanted to have flowers wrapped around my crutch, so that I'd still have a free hand for hugging and shaking hands at my wedding. Tina's design for this was better than I could've imagined! I'm going to post a picture of it here on yelp. When I arrived at the venue and found out a family member had hijacked 3 of our parent corsages, Tina kept me calm, said it was no problem, and quickly put together new corsages for the right people. She truly went above and beyond! In the middle of the corsage debacle, one of my eyelashes came unglued, and Tina stepped in to help with that, too! She really was a Godsend! I cannot say enough how amazing Tina is!!! Hoping my new husband calls Tina and Floral Excellence for any and all flower needs we'll have :) read more

The woman helping me was so kind, understanding and genuinely wanted to learn my price point and what I was looking for in my perfect bouquet and did so with no judgement just pure support. My bouquet came out beautiful, exactly what I wanted and it looked so rich and beautiful. When you visit the shop, they have all kinds of unique decor pieces you can buy. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! I needed inexpensive floral centerpieces for an event and I checked with so many florists in the area. It seemed the other florists didn't want to work with me and I think it was because of my low budget. Some said they would sell me flowers for me to make the centerpieces myself, but then they would say that the flowers I wanted wouldn't arrive in time--it was too late to get what I wanted by the date of my event. I resolved to the fact that I would just buy grocery store flowers, whatever they had in stock, and make the arrangements myself. But then I connected with Breanne, the owner of Floral Excellence in South Elgin, and I'm so glad I did! I told Breanne what my budget was, what I was looking for, and when I needed them, which was by the way, not a very high budget, and relatively last minute--within a couple weeks of my event. I expected her to give me the same story as the other florists, but Breanne basically said she WANTED to make this happen for me and she WOULD make it happen!!! When no other florists would! She came up with a lovely design for each centerpiece, it was the colors I wanted, it was within my budget, included the labor for them to arrange the flowers (not just me purchasing the flowers and making them myself), and they delivered them to my party venue! When I arrived at the venue for my event, her girl Eryn had set them up so pretty on all the guest tables and display tables and they were so lovely! They were perfect! When I felt that no other florist was interested in helping me, Floral Excellence WANTED to make my arrangements and did them so lovely! I would highly recommend them for any event, big or small. They clearly go above and beyond, they listen to what your needs are, and they make sure your event, no matter what it is, is a beautiful one! I will definitely use them again! Ordered a bouquet for Valentine's Day, it was supposed to be delivered early afternoon to my girlfriends place of business. By 3 o'clock I had heard nothing so I tried calling multiple times but couldn't get floral excellence to pick up the phone even though they report being open til 5pm. Decided to reach out via text @3:40pm and didn't receive a response til 10pm at night. Super unprofessional to text somebody that late but I guess questionable business practices is their mantra. All they offered to do was refund, or send the bouquet the next day. Kinda defeats the point of Valentine's Day. Overall very disappointed with the service here. It seems like not many floral shops are open late on a Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure why. Late Saturday should be prime flower buying time for thoughtful guys like me. Guys who are heading out on a date, and want something nicer than grocery store flowers. But, I guess florists don't have a lot of foot traffic these days. Anyway, according to the Floral Excellence website, Tina was open, so I called. When she answered, she wasn't actually *in* her shop, but without hesitation said she'd meet me there and make a special bouquet for me. I wasn't talking about a huge order of flowers... just a small bouquet, but she assured me it wasn't a problem. When I got there, we talked about what I needed, and she gave me some ideas on flower choices and colors. As she assembled the bouquet we talked about her shop and her history in the Elgin area. She's a life-long Elginite, obviously loves her community and is passionate about her art. Her studio is connected to one of the larger floral warehouses, so I'm guessing that the flowers are fresher than any shop in the area. After a few minutes of pleasant conversation, I not only had a beautiful bouquet (that my girlfriend LOVED), but also a new florist that would be getting the rest of my business. The flowers arrived just after 5pm on the day of delivery, almost delaying our plans for my mother's Birthday dinner. While she appreciates that she can enjoy them longer, none of the blooms of the lilies were open- not one- so we were quite underwhelmed when the flowers arrived. It would have been nice to include a few open blooms in the arrangement like in the website picture. It looks so blah- but my mom likes the vase. No blooming baby's breath either. This place is BRILLIANT! Strongly recommended. I called them two days before my boyfriend's 30th birthday after reading the reviews on Yelp, and I think I spoke to Tina. I told her that I was thinking about sending my boyfriend some flowers or something at his office just as a surprise, but wasn't really sure what kind of flowers to send to a man. She very helpfully steered me toward a gift basket, and then asked, "What kinds of things does he like?" "Well," I said, "he really likes Twinkies. And Fritos. And, um, Camaros? So maybe something with Twinkies and some Matchbox cars or something in it?" "Sure!" she said, as if that were the most normal thing she had ever heard in her life and there was nothing bizarre or half-baked about it at all. The pictures of the arrangements online looked beautiful and I was so excited to find a unique arrangement to cheer up my sick sister. Unfortunately the arrangement looked nothing like what I picked out. Although a very nice woman did call me to advice me the color roses they had were red for the arrangement vs the orange:yellow ones in picture, I assumed the rest would be similar but not even close. Hello All, I am writing for Bay Area, California. I had a situation to place order on behalf of my aunty from India to her daughter in law. I called from morning so many places (which said free delivery etc..) but after all the information, they are asking me for handling charges. Why said about other places is - they say free, but add hidden charges. Bad experience talking and dealing with them. Initially when i tried Floral Excellence #, i was having 0 confidence (i thought they are also one among others). But to my surprise Tina picked up phone and she heard all my pain points and experiences. She gave me straight deal saying "i have shipping/delivery charges - but depends on location and flower you pick". I picked up my flower and she gave me a rate (i was happy about flower price and delivery price). I mentioned to her if she can do cake, she said "Not available" but she mentioned (out of helping nature) "if you can place order in one of the cake shops in location close/on way to delivery location, i can pick up cake and deliver along with flowers". That's it, i was so relieved (made my life easy). She picked up cake on way to flower delivery and my cousin who received flowers was "REALLY happy and amazed". More than flower delivery and every , i like her pleasantness and all ears to hear for need and make things possible. I really wish to meet her in person when i visit Chicago next and thank her.
