My husband bought me a beautiful dozen roses delivered to me on our anniversary. They were absolutely gorgeous when they arrived. This was on a Tuesday. By Friday, the roses were darkening and the leaves were turning brown. By the end of the weekend, they were done. I realize that roses are not meant to last a very long time, but after just 4 days, they were already in sad shape. I tried to send them an email as described on their website, but my email came back "undeliverable." Then I called and left a message on their voicemail, and no one returned my call. My husband won't tell me how much he spent, but I'm sure they weren't cheap. Beware of this florist. They'll take your money but will disappear if you have an issue. By the way, I bought a dozen roses at the local grocery store over a week ago, and they still look beautiful. Just saying. read more

I am a very patient and understanding guy. I called to see the possibility of delivering flowers to a special person for Valentine's Day. I made a phone call to this establishment To see what my options were. I was greeted with the most rude person I have ever dealt with. He acted over the phone like his time was extremely precious and don't waste his time attitude. After I agreed on a price, he handed me off to one of his associates and took my information. I was trying to communicate with this patient associate and could hear this rambling lunatic in the background. I was out of state (which is why I ordering the flowers) or I wouldn't of had this ridiculous situation. I will never ever order a weed from this outfit ever! My mom was having surgery and I wanted to deliver flowers to her the day afterward. I called in and spoke with Patty who took my order over the phone. She was very patient with me as I expressed that I wanted her to have creative liberty with the flowers, but we wanted to keep it classy, feminine, and spring-y. Patty did not judge me when I politely asked her to put, "Thinking of your boob," on the card. In fact, she chuckled and said, "that's cute." Patty then proceeded to allow me to list off the 11 people whose names I wanted on the card. As if the customer service wasn't good enough, let's talk about the flowers. She made two incredible arrangements, both absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I'd asked her for. When I called her afterward to thank her and commend her job, she expressed the love and thoughtfulness she put into my mom's arrangements. She truly made my day and my mother's, who is a self-proclaimed "flower connoisseur". In planning for my father's funeral in October, I forgot about flowers. At first I thought the funeral home was supposed deal with that, but then realized that the family needed to buy them. Something in the back of my mind reminded me that it is customary to have a "blanket" of flowers on the casket, an arrangement from the children and an arrangement from the grandchildren. I suppose the Internet would have helped me figure this all out, but in grief one does not always think straight. So two days before the funeral I frantically searched for florists in Elgin -- wishing Schocks had not gone out of business because it was the florist I always used when I lived there. I found a florist called Larkin Floral and Gifts, online, and assumed that it was on Larkin Avenue -- not far from my mother's home where I was staying. I could not find their address on their website (big mistake for them) but called the number listed and discovered they were right around the block from my mother's house (in the building that used to house my eye doctor when I was a kid) on McLean Blvd. Really -- I could walk there faster than driving. Which I did. The owner, Patricia, helped me chose flowers. I wanted Navy colors since my father was proud to have been in the Navy. She was more than helpful. Didn't pressure me into purchasing anything I didn't request and was sympathetic to my stories about our treatment at the hospital and funeral home. The flowers were lovely. They arrived on time and everything was fine. I will definitely use them again for my flower needs if I need to send flowers to anyone in Elgin. My only suggestion is to make sure their address is on their web page. read more

Without my knowledge, they switched the arrangements without telling me citing if they could not get an arrangement they would substitute it with a "comparable" one. not the case.
