Peggy did an amazing job on our florals for our wedding day! I don't know much about flowers, so I gave Peggy our color palette and she was able to find the best flowers and also helped us stick to our budget. I was so impressed on her knowledge of florals! She also showed me examples of the flowers she would use to put together my bouquet. We looked for florists all across the Chicagoland area, and the value that you get from Peggy was the best! Peggy stayed at our venue throughout the wedding day and helped our wedding party and parents with their corsages/boutonnières, florals for our cake, moving florals from our arch to the sweetheart table, decorating the hanging wreath for our venue, etc. Peggy was so kind! Sent a birthday arrangement to my sister in law. Having had bad experiences in the past I was concerned that the arrangement would be what I wanted. This 5 star review might be the strongest 5 star that I have ever written. We used Peggy (Garvin) for our wedding and she was everything you could ever ask for. She knows her stuff and has been doing it for decades. She is fun to work with and will make sure that everything is absolutely perfect. I can't say enough about the job that she did for our wedding! Even though she is out in South Elgin she had no problem handling our wedding downtown. She was really the only florist we interviewed, but after talking to my other married friends she is an absolute bargain with her pricing as well. If any of you would like to see pictures I would be more than happy to share. We were not sure exactly what we wanted besides the color and Peggy walked us through every step of the way with great suggestions to stay within our budget. She is absolutely an incredible person who is full of joy and she took such great care in setting everything up from the wedding arch, placing lanterns with candles along the aisle and moving everything from outside into the reception area and re-purposing everything for inside. I absolutely echo what the other reviewer said - Peggy was FABULOUS. We used her for our wedding in June 2011, and I was just googling Garvin Gardens to send her info to a friend, and I felt compelled, almost 2 years later, to say how great she was to work with. Her prices were amazing, and the flowers were gorgeous. She knows every flower out there and can tell you what holds up well in bouquets, what is available that time of year, etc. If you have colors in mind, she can give you dozens of options that will work. My mom cared a lot about the flowers, and Peggy was extremely patient with my mom, which is not always easy to do. Even though she's out in the suburbs, she will come to you to meet and discuss the flowers. I never felt inconvenienced by the fact that she didn't have a store and works out of her house. She had many floral magazines to look through, as well as pictures of her work in the past. She has been doing this a long time. We only talked to one other florist, almost as an afterthought, and their quote was almost double what Peggy charged us. If you're getting married anywhere in the Chicagoland area, use her! read more
