If a charge is truly optional, customers should actually be given the opportunity to opt out. I would like the 3% charge refunded. More importantly, this fee should be clearly disclosed and customers should be given an actual choice before it is added to their bill.

There are also lots of books to choose from for how small the store is. They also have a wide variety of artsy gifts. But here's to the bad. However recently I went in to browse the selection of Hobonichis, since they're the only store in the city to have them. For some reason, instead of stocking them on the international release day (like I was originally told), they decided to stock them on September 4th. Disgruntled, but my fiancee promised to come back. So, she did! Came back on September 4th right when they opened, and wouldn't you know they were NOT in stock. In fact, they didn't even have them, they were stuck in customs. My fiancee was also with multiple other people who had been told the same things, all showing up for their Hobonichi release, only to be disappointed. So, here's the issue. Lying to customers about having a product, when you DONT is absolutely wild. Assuring customers it will be in stock on a specific day, then not telling your customers that it can't, is so beyond unprofessional. To me, it felt like a game to Warwicks in an attempt to drum up hype for these highly sought after brand and items. Overall I'm really going to need Warwicks to redeem themselves on this one.

Why I waited so long, I don't know. It's definitely a steep trek down, and the stairs can be a bit slippery, so hold on. Once you get down, you will see an amazing view of La Jolla Cove. Will was rude, dismissive, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, as though simply being there was an inconvenience to him. And it wasn't just my interaction with him that bothered me. I personally witnessed a couple come back into the store after climbing up from the cave, obviously hot and sweaty from the climb. Will actually told them, "We understand you're hot after coming up from the cave, but we're trying to air out the room and you're airing it with your sweaty bodies." I couldn't believe someone working in customer service would speak to paying customers that way. On top of that, Will was FaceTiming while working at the register. Between the personal FaceTime call, the rude comments to other guests, and the way he made me feel like an inconvenience, his behavior came across as incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming. It's a shame because the cave itself is fantastic and such a unique La Jolla experience. The attraction deserves five stars, but the customer service we experienced from Will was honestly terrible. Management really needs to address how guests are being treated.

They have so many cute items for gift giving... so keep that in mind when you need a traditional gift shop to explore. I was on my Stationery Store finding activity (per usual) back in early March, and I happened upon this spot. Great selection of greeting cards and pens. The artist E. Francis merchandise, lots of cute Culinary items, and things for babies, etc. Staff was so friendly and helpful we spoke of many Stationery events and I promised to return during the San Diego Bookstore Crawl. Should have but my daughter was bawling it was last one and wed been looking for a squeaky seal. I paid for it and He was stumbling and dropped the change on the ground and was stumbling to pick it up. Then he jumped on the phone to tell someone the ignorant customer he had to deal with before we were even gone. I hope the rest of La Jolla isn't like this :( I hope the owner is able to speak to the employees because it's otherwise a super cute shop :(

I feel so satisfied when I go into the store. They're always wonderful ideas that I walk away with, and something for every budget. I'm still considering one of the Buddhas from my recent visit. This shop is smaller, clean with delightful flavors of chocolates which are most people's downfall. But no worries, one chocolate a day won't harm you, especially ones filled with Dom Perignon champagne, my favs. The staff here is lovely helpful cordial and with chocolates from Switzerland, this is shop is worthy of your visit. I have been past it several times but did not know it was there. The store is small but they have plenty of different styles and sizes of high quality Swiss chocolates. We got to try it last weekend as part of a Mystery picnic experience. The person working at the counter grabbed our to go package and asked some questions, we let her know it was part of the picnic, and she said she had also done the picnic, but down in Coronado. She told us about the shop, the chocolates, about some of the different packages, etc. The chocolates were decadent, rich, sweet and delicious. Our package came with a few different types. But there are many options to choose from. I am looking forward to trying more out. Enjoy the photos.
