While I understand the business decision to drop my insurance, I am very disappointed that after 18 years of care, I was not told until 4 1/2 months after they initiated dropping my insurance that I needed to find a new dentist. They were very aware, cleaning appointments are being scheduled 8 months out. Sure enough, when I started calling around, the next appointment I could schedule is February, 9 months out. Basically I'll be paying dental insurance this whole year without anyone in my family being able to see a dentist.

They let us know from the beginning they couldn't absolutely guarantee a same day denture, but they worked it out and had it done by end of day! You're not supposed to look like you are ready to build a dam with beavers either. The temporary plate fit and looked great. I told them i wanted the perm one exactly the same. They took the mold and then i looked like a buck tooth. They redid them and they weren't right. I tried to wear them but they're offset to the left. I told them and they basically told me we're done with you. I've been toothless for 4 years because i had to go on disability and I can't afford another one. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. What's the bad part, I paid cash and this is how they treat a cash customer. i

He REALLY impressed me when he gave me his personal home number after surgery, so that I could call him if I experienced any problems. He does this with every patient. It's almost impossible to find a doctor nowadays who will give you their home or cell number. Luckily, I didn't need to call him. However, he still called me that night to make sure I was doing okay. He truly cares about his patients and wants to make sure you're recovering well. My husband ended up with dry sockets after surgery. Treatment includes going into the office every day to have the holes stuffed with gauze. Dr. Brinker came in on a Saturday morning (when the office is usually closed) just to change my husband's gauze. Dr. Brinker consistently goes above and beyond to serve his patients. I would recommend him to anyone.

I found Dr Mulcahy through the desire for change and I am EXTREMELY thankful I did! I had a rather large filling fall out & that is exactly what he fixed, rather expertly I might add! I felt nothing with the numbing shot, not even a pinch. There was some discomfort during the procedure which was caused by the prior dentist getting way too close to the nerve. He put a barrier between the nerve & the filling to try and help with sensitivity. I am giving it a few weeks to see if a root canal will be needed (again since the prior work had been done too close to the nerve). Regardless I am scheduling all future appointments here!! The office is upbeat, caring, kind, and you feel important like you've known them all your life. I didn't feel like my teeth were the worst ever and the dental hygenist didn't ask me if I brushed my teeth. I felt like my issues weren't the worst ever, they could be fixed and I was told by the doc and hygenist that it was clear that I DID brush and take care of my teeth. Not everybody has perfect eyesight, skin, etc. Some people have weaker teeth and more plaque buildup or whatever. I'm sure that most of us wish that we had perfect teeth! That's how they have their jobs and they do a fine job at caring for those of us who sit in their chairs more frequently. I highly suggest Smith & Elliot Dental Associates!

I finally was taken back to a well used exam room and subsequent trip to x-ray as I was a new patient. To this point, my review was a solid 3 stars at best. Then I finally met Dr. Elliott. I was very, very impressed with his interpretation of what I was going thru and we did have a few candid moments of proposed treatment which in all honesty I was expecting. Now I am on the wait list to get another appointment. I started with them less than a year ago with perfectly healthy teeth…read more I was told that I needed 2 crowns and when I got the second crown due to MILD sensitivity (which should have been corrected with a filling) they drilled my tooth too far down and now I need a ROOT CANAL!! I did NOT need one before my appointment but now after 2 months of terrible pain and a bite adjustment, I'm told I need a root canal, to which I have to pay for! They also told my husband he needed a deep clean on his gums and we had to pay $500 out of pocket for the first appointment and who knows what the second "treatment" would cost. Oh and now I supposedly need a THIRD crown but that was just brought up to me at my last cleaning. This place is bogus so if you want to spend every dime you have on a dentist, this is the place because if you didn't need work before you go, they will make sure you need it after your very first appointment. I would rate them a ZERO if I could! Oh and when you get frustrated about anything Taylor at the front desk will talk to you like garbage! UPDATE: I've gone to a much better dentist now and not only did I need a root canal because my tooth was so bad, they also had to re-do the first crown that Embrace did because there was a gap at the top of the crown. Completely obvious to my new dentist. Since my insurance only pays for 1 crown per tooth every 5 years, it was another $1000 out of pocket to have the crown redone plus the root canal I needed. I was very nervous since I had not been to the dentist in a while and because I did not yet have dental insurance. I was running about 15 minutes late because it was further away then expected and I got stuck at work. They let me back and did not give me a hard time about this at all. The dentist I saw was the son of Dr. Wright. He was super personable and helped me be at ease. He numbed me up so well that I had no pain during the procedure and did not even have to take any pain meds after. The best part was he didn't even charge me full price, he only charged me what people normally have to pay out of pocket after their insurance pays their portion. Naturally after I got insurance I didn't hesitate on who to go back to when I needed the rest of them pulled and a cleaning. The cleaning I needed was more intense since I hadn't been for one in a while. They contacted my insurance while I was with the hygienist and let me know what part was covered and exactly how much to expect to pay out of pocket. When I came in to do the procedure I again felt no pain before or after and this time it was Dr Wright and a hygienist! Dr Wright even took some money off because I had had a bad day (someone hit my car and tried to take off). The 3 times I have been there have been fantastic. I will recommend them to my family and my friends! Even though I live about 30 minutes away I will continue to go to this office.
