I grew up going to the Dripping Springs location of Flores but had dinner tonight for the first time at the William Cannon location and it did not disappoint! Flores Mexican Restaurant is an incredible authentic Tex-Mex place that always been very consistent in food quality. They have a great atmosphere especially in the bar where I usually sit. The staff is quite attentive and enjoyed the chips and salsa placed in front of me. We had a nice view of the playground and they do have some outdoor seating. I noticed one of the TVs needs to be replaced but they are many others to watch sports on. I always enjoy how they decorate the place for the holidays. I ordered the Joe's Tacos and selected two soft chicken fajita tacos, with bell peppers and onions, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice and charro beans like the menu stated. The tacos were very good and was basically two prepared chicken fajita tacos but could still add my personal guacamole, pico de Gallo and any rice to it. The place is so big, we were able to be seated quickly even with a steady flow of people. The menu is very reasonably priced and there are many options on the kids menu, with each meal coming with ice cream. Our waiter had a positive attitude while accommodating our chaotic ever-changing seating arrangements. All the food came out very quickly and piping hot. The seating outside consisted of picnic tables with umbrellas spread out all over the area while the playscape was in the shade surrounded by trees. After being seated it took a few minutes but our waitress eventually came over and took our drink order and gave us some menus to look over. After a while she returned with our drinks, brought us some chips and salsa, and took our order. The waitress was very busy throughout lunch but was friendly despite being super busy. The tortilla chips were decent. They were crispy but had no flavor or seasoning. The salsa was a little spicy but addictive. For my lunch I ordered the Enchiladas Pablanas which comes with two enchiladas stuffed with peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and verde sauce. They come with a side of rice and a choice of beans. I chose the frijoles a la chara/charro beans. The food was okay. The enchiladas were tasty. You could definitely taste the peppers and onions, and the Verde sauce added flavor. The rice was kind of bland but it was okay. The beans were good and flavorful. Overall it was an okay place to have lunch. The outdoor space was good, the service was consistent, and the food was just okay. read more

It's all right. I'm always concerned when a restaurant is damned near empty at lunch. Seated right away. Placed a drink order. Big main dining room and big bar plus outdoor seating and a playground. Chips and pretty good) salsa and beer arrived promptly. Dropped a lunch special order and my chicken enchiladas arrived in less than 5 minutes. Classic Gringo-Mex. A little bland. We have visited this restaurant a couple of times and also hosted a birthday party in the patio area recently. The patio is well shaded with trees and umbrellas on benches, making it a great spot even in the summer heat. Angel and his team are nice people, they were extremely accommodating to our party requests and our server Allison was kind and super attentive to our group of 30 people. The food is delicious, the chips, salsa and queso is really one of the best in Austin. I must have parked near this restaurant 30 times going to the gym. I was invited to brunch on a Saturday so I finally stopped in. The service at the place was great! As soon as we were seated chips and salsa were brought out. The chips were fried half corn tortillas so you never had to dip tiny chip slivers in the spicy sauce. Flores lunch menu was dropped alongside the regular menu. It says Mon thru Fri but the server said it's practically everyday. We ordered the Cheese Enchiladas, Huevos Rancheros and Fajita Taco plate. Each served with rice and choice of beans. I asked how many tacos were served with the lunch special and was told only one. The beef fajita was huge. Packed with enough meat for two to three tacos. The meat was tender and well seasoned served with onions, peppers, pico and guacamole. I had to ask for additional tortillas. All of the food was fantastic. Had a great time at Flores! The margaritas were great and the salsa was literal perfection - perfect balance of freshness and spice in every bite. I ordered the beef enchiladas with half Tex Mex and half Mole sauce. The Tex Mex sauce was delicious but I noticed the menu said the Mole was a family recipe so I wanted to try it and it didn't disappoint. My boyfriend got the Carnitas plate and WOW - the pork was good!!!! (Not pictured) Service was great and our food seriously came out within 5 minutes of ordering! Although the bartender was quick and friendly, this place was kind of a one and done for me. First, it's very family friendly. They have a playground and there were tons of kids running around-so if that's your thing you'll probably love it. For us, it was a bit much for a happy hour. Second, the food was just ok. My husband and I used to go here all the time loved the food, atmosphere, service and server. It was our go to place for Friday night date. 5:00 pm: Today we happen to be in the area and we're hungry and thought we'd stop in. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant. We were looking for one of our favorite employees, Jonathan. We were told he no longer works there. We decided to sit at the bar and again nobody there. Service was less than what we were accustomed to. We always received prompt, friendly, exceptional service when Jonathan was there. The bartenders appeared to be less than experienced. They were having trouble serving draft beer. Few things could've been wrong. The lines could've been dirty. The pump wasn't primed. We also noticed the beer glasses were not being tilted to the side when pouring beer into them. I ordered a tall Michelob ultra, and the bartender had to empty the glass a minimum of five times because it was only filling with foam. The food was ok. I had beef fajita tacos. When the bartender brought us our food I asked for some lime. He said I will be right back. He walked off, then back behind the bar and began to wait on a couple who had just arrived. He walked by us asked if everything was okay. Again, I asked him for some lime. As you can see in the picture the food is generous however, it lacked flavor didn't matter how much salt , pepper and or lime I added it just lacked flavor. Big place and around 4p it was pretty empty We started with chips and salsa and the salsa was spicy and flavorful Things went downhill quickly from there. We both ordered a different en hilada plate that came with a beef taco I won't go into details of exactly what was on each plate, it doesn't really matter since it all was flavorless and bland Would not repeat That being said if I had kids this would be a good daycare while drinking margaritas. We haven't eaten here for several years. The first time was after they opened, and abandoned their original location. It was horrible compared to the original. Fast forward to now. The chips and salsa were great. The Lady got a Pablano enchilada and some quac. She did not like the guacamole at all but the enchilada she enjoyed. I got the Pesoli which was OK but the soup tasted old. I did eat everything but the broth and was happy to have a red stain on my beard again. It was ok, but I advise not to expect too much from a big box restaurant. That applies to all big box restaurants. Absolutely awful!!! I ordered online, they had a 2 for 1 special on beef tacos. Usually the uber drivers are to blame for to go mess ups. But I received cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and broken into pieces taco shells. NO MEAT WHATSOEVER... for both dinner plates. Whoever boxed it and bagged it didn't make sure the PROTEIN was there. When I called, the first time, I was hung up on. Second time I called the MOD tells me my order doesn't exist, and they never had an order for me!! My fiancé and I ate here yesterday and really liked it. First, their service was incredible. We stopped by around 7pm with no reservation and were seated by the hostess less than two minutes after walking in. Then, our waitress Sara came to our table in less than two minutes, brought out water 60 seconds later, chips another minute or so later, and the guacamole also came out within a matter of minutes, along with my fiancé's margarita. It was truly impressive!! As for their chips, they were much larger chips than I'm used to at Tex Mex spots but they were still solid. Guac was also good and they had an option of plain guac or guac with seeds/toppings. We got the latter. My quesadilla entree was on point and I'd give it a 5/5. My fiancé got the shrimp entree and liked it, but did say the queso chip on it, along with the rice could've been better. Last, they do have spacious bar seating, and my take is that this would be a good environment to watch a ball game at if there was one on TV. Getting a table is never a promise as every Flores I have ever been to has been big enough to seat all. Service varies, some on point more than others. Their margaritas are just "ok", but LOVE their Mexican martinis! The other day I had the carnitas for the first time and they were on point! Meat, tender and well-seasoned. My wife and I eat here 2x monthly and have for years. The food is consistently good and the staff tries hard, but very often they screw up your to go orders: 20% of the time at least. In today's world read the printed ticket you place on your to go order bags and ensure what's in the bag matches what's written on the ticket. Food is always great, and the experience is dependable! We love their margaritas, and the fact that they have a massive kid playground. We come here about once a week. Only downside- service is super hit or miss. Everyone is nice, but they seem to consistantly be understaffed for their busy windows. We never feel like it's a gap with our server, but more that management has too few folks on the schedule. I've lived in this hood for over 25 years, and have never been to this restaurant, although I have walked past it recreationally many times. One day, due to a car breakdown, my date came south and she wanted Tex-Mex, so we decided to finally give Flores a try one Sunday afternoon in early October. We sat outside and were promptly waited upon. I'll give you fair warning that outside can be quite busy on the weekends with all the families and kids after church. So beware if you choose to eat outside that it can get boisterous. Also, outside is quite sympatico with the nearby oak-laden neighborhood, so be aware that there may be insect visitors. I judge a Mexican restaurant by one of three plates: Migas, Fajitas, and Enchiladas. Today I went with the Migas because that's the hardest one for any restaurant to prepare to my liking (Trudy's migas being the bogey). Flores did not disappoint in that regard. They also readily accommodated my requests to trade black beans for the refried beans. About the only thing I found a bit lacking was their water service. However, this was in the post-pandemic period where people were venturing out beyond staffing levels, so it was understandable. When we had our waitress' attention, her attitude was super and courteous. Recommended: I'd be back in a heartbeat to try anything else on their expansive menu. read more

Living close by and having a toddler, Flores is one of my go-tos. Flores isn't the top of the line, but it has a lot going for it! The playground is the reason this place is packed with families and has long wait times on weekend nights. Huge, entirely fenced-in playground, space to run around, and plenty of outdoor tables where you can actually watch your kids play. Service can be hit or miss, especially if they're busy. On the bright side, the drinks seem to have gotten stronger. This is the place where I always stick with what I know -- the carnitas plate. You can't go wrong. read more
