She's busy as heck (deservedly so) but for guys in the area, it's well worth it to get on her schedule. A few days after purchasing it, I needed a last-minute blowout for an event and couldn't get in with my usual salon. I called Salon JM and tried to make an appointment to use the voucher the following day. They couldn't accommodate me for the cut and color portion, but only had time for a blowout. I asked if making this appointment would prevent me from using the Groupon at a later date (since the fine print said it was for new customers). I was told it was fine, since I had purchased the Groupon as a new customer, and I was going for a different service. I reconfirmed this in person when I went for the blowout. Imagine my surprise when I called back a couple weeks later to make an appointment for the deal and was told they would not honor it. Again, I explained that I WAS a new customer when the deal was purchased, and the only reason I had gone for just a blowout before redeeming the deal was because I couldn't get an appointment for the whole thing. They weren't even open to using the amount of the voucher towards the full price of the service - I would have been fine with that! Instead, I was told to deal with Groupon, and then they hung up on me. They didn't even ask if I wanted to proceed without the deal! It's a shame because they did a nice job with the blowout, but I would absolutely not go back here. Clearly they aren't interested in the business. There are enough salons in this area - I don't need to deal with one that's rude and sketchy.

I shrugged it off and got the vibe and impression that she not in the right headspace. 10 minutes of complete silence and it was a struggle for her to give me the basic haircut. She seemed annoyed that I asked her to clean up my eyebrows at the end and when she took the cape off, I asked her to get 2 straggler hairs on the back of my neck. Over the weekend I received a voicemail asking if I could push my appointment to 11AM. I called this morning to follow up, but they confirmed my appointment was scheduled for 10 AM and expressed confusion about who called me to change it to 11. We confirmed that my appointment would be 10AM. I then came in 15 mins early and was coldly greeted at the desk when I checked in. I took a seat and waited for my name to be called. I waited 15 mins past my scheduled appointment, and during my this time the stylist assigned to me took a client that walked in after me. She was notified that I was waiting twice. She never once came to speak to me to let me know how much longer to wait. I got up to speak to someone at the desk to cancel, but no one was working the desk. I walked out. I tried to then call the front desk and was placed on hold for 5 minutes. Clearly, this establishment has issues with friendliness and with double booking. I shouldn't run into this much trouble for a simple haircut. I won't come back.

Beyond excited that Morgan and Alyssa have opened up their own salon together in Allendale. It is a gorgeous salon, clean, warm, and inviting. The front desk staff are amazing and helpful from the moment you step in the door. There are multiple seating areas where you can wait comfortably. There are ample snacks and beverages to choose from which is a huge plus! Personally I am in the salons for hours with my hair and it's great to be able to have a quick snack or drink during my service. The towels are heated and lavender scented which is the perfect touch in colder months! I am personally someone who is stressed at the salon, but never here.
