Tight squeeze, but understandable since everyone wants to get inside of here!

Always an exceptional breakfast at Paula's. We are a large group (9) so we always have a long wait, especially since we only go on Sunday mornings. The staff is very accommodating and gets us in as quickly as possible. It should be noted that at particularly busy times they will stop taking names for parties for an hour to an hour and a half until they get caught up. The staff members are engaging and efficient. It's difficult to recommend a specific dish because everything is good. On this particular occasion, the eggs in my eggs Benedict were over poached, but honestly out of a half dozen breakfasts, this is the only hiccup I've ever experienced. The buttermilk pancakes are very good, but if you've never tried them before, I recommend giving the Danish pancakes, a try; they're very flavorful. You can add fruit to them, typically cinnamon apples are enjoyed by my family, but you can also have them just with butter and syrup.

Everything we had here was so delicious. The only thing that was not that good was their coffee. We went to Starbucks afterwards and got out fix there. Overall not that bad.

We put our name down and didn't have to wait long to get a table on a Friday morning. We ordered the Danish Pancake Combination and a side of hash browns. The combination came with three turkey sausage links, two scrambled eggs, and two plain Danish pancakes with butter and maple syrup on the side. Everything was delicious! The service was also very fast and attentive. Our only complaint was the flies buzzing around our outdoor table the entire time we ate. They didn't mind that we brought our coffee cups from Good Seed.

The beat pancakes in town !!! Service was great, there was a yon of people and we waited 10 mins max. There's plenty of parking which is always a plus! The ambience is also perfect, it can be a bit crowded but I overlooked that right away once I tried the danish pancakes.

Food Came straight here after our 3 hr drive from LA, craving a really good brunch spot. Haven't been here before but this was one of the recommended spots, so decided to give it a try. We ordered a corned beef hash and the Paula's special pancakes. The food was really good and hit the spot. The corned beef hash with eggs were well made and not overly salty, and the pancakes were dutch pancakes which lean on the thinner side with some fresh fruit(we picked strawberries). Overall, we enjoyed the food and nothing really much to complain. Service/Ambiance For a Friday 10am brunch for 2 people, waiting was around 15-20 mins which wasn't too bad. We were given outdoor seating, but overall the place had a lot of tables. The servers were nice and service was pretty quick as well. Loved the vibe of the place and the outdoor seating really gives your european vibes with the solvang cityscape

GETTING HERE: Located in Solvang, on the main drag through the city. Per their website, they are on the north side of Mission Drive between 4th Place and 5th Street. Parking can be ridiculous, just FYI. I would probably recommend looking straight off for a public parking lot if you're headed here. To maximize your time. REVIEW: First-timers. Sadly, we were completely underwhelmed. Very saddened by this. But, as is my motto, we will give them one more try as hoping this was a one-off. Food: The pancakes were OK? I mean, I didn't see the hype. Again, marking this up to the one-off visit, hopefully. They were good, of course, but didn't seem any different than from other restaurants. We ordered eggs over-medium, and they were runny. But, nothing terribly major. Service: Now, here's the bad news. Our service was horrid. Just horrid. But, as we observed the other customers, their service was on point. Servers and wait staff were hustling, just not for us. It was so unnerving. Finally, who I can only assume was a lead/manager, came to greet us and take our order. She apologized profusely and stated that our server had gotten held up with something. She was pretty helpful, thankfully, but then it was another server who delivered our food and she. did. not. even. say. boo. to. us. Ambiance: It's very quaint, I love it. Very Solvang-rich. Overall, it was a solid 2.5 visit, rounding up because Solvang. Hopefully, will update soon with better experience.

Long wait but worth it! Visited on a Saturday for some late morning breakfast. I expected it to be busy so we had about a 45 minute wait. Once seated we were served quickly and the servers were on top of things. Considering how busy it was everyone was nice and we were never waiting long to be helped. The dining room feels like an old house which I just love. We both got the California special omelette with bacon and Danish sausage on the side. The omelette's were so good, fluffy, big, lots of flavors. The pico and ranchero sauce were perfect on top. The bacon was crispy and thick, the Danish sausage was delicious but could have been a bit warmer. We also got mimosas which were so fresh, they use fresh squeezed orange juice made right there in the dining room. I'd go back just for the orange juice alone! All in all a great dining experience before shopping around town. The meal hit the spot and was worth the wait.

This place was packed and very busy. Makes sense, since you got two main breakfast places in the little town of Solvang and all the hotels are walking distance. Luckily we didn't have too long of a wait. Our server was sweet and nice and our food came out very fast. However the drinks took longer to get than our food and no one ever got refills on their water and drinks. I know they are super busy but people like having their drinks refilled.

Rounded up to 3.75 stars. We arrived to Paula's Pancake House on mother's Day morning at around 8:30am (they open at 7) and we were told it was a 45 minute wait. It's not a very big place and there isn't really much space to wait but people did start forming a line outside waiting to put their name down. You put your name down on a list and are told to return around a specific time frame. They do not offer texting when your place is open so you can't really travel very far. Service: The service there was fair. Understandably so, it was busy and our server didn't come around to us often while we ate. But she was kind and accommodating to our specific dietary needs (without making any faces). Food: so we came with a party of 7 so they accommodated us by joining two tables together. The food we had was okay. My favorite thing there was definitely the danish sausage which was cooked perfectly and had the perfect snap and bite to it. My sister in law said it was too gamey for her but I believe that is just a personal preference. The sausage was well cooked. The danish pancakes were just alright.... I like to think of them more like a crepe since they are relatively thin. We got ours with blueberries and the blueberries were also cooked well. It was lacking in flavor is all I can describe it. The scrambled eggs has absolutely zero salt. I believe they just cooked the eggs and brought it out. Overall I would say this place was underwhelming and I could not for the life of me understand why it gets so jam-packed. In my humble opinion. I think there just aren't that many options of full menu restaurants in Solvang and a lot of bakeries instead. I would come back here again just for the danish sausage since it was quite delicious but next time I'll try another menu item.

Came here on a Saturday around 7:45 a.m. and there were barely any people there. By about 8:15 a.m., the place started filling up quickly, so I'd definitely recommend arriving earlier if you want to avoid the crowd and wait. Unfortunately, my experience started off on the wrong foot. When my coffee arrived, I noticed what looked like lipstick on the rim of the cup. At first I thought it might just be a stain, but when I touched it, it smeared. Pretty gross, especially for a $4.50 cup of coffee that was very mediocre. The portion sizes were generous, but the food wasn't anything memorable. I ordered the Solvang Danish-style sausage with eggs, hash browns, and an English muffin. I did appreciate that the English muffin was buttered, but the sausage was underwhelming and didn't have anything special about it. My husband ordered Paula's Special with Danish pancakes and warm cinnamon apples. He usually loves pancakes, but he also thought they were just okay. I actually liked the thin Danish pancakes, but I'm not much of a sweets-for-breakfast person. The service also left something to be desired. I found it odd that I had to ask for a water refill instead of it being offered. When I asked for water, the server smiled and nodded but never brought any. I asked again, thinking maybe she hadn't heard me. She returned with a cup full of ice, so I had to ask a third time before I finally got water. Overall, while the restaurant is popular and serves large portions, I don't really understand the hype. Between the mediocre food, the lipstick on the coffee cup, and the inattentive service, it wasn't an experience I'd be eager to repeat.

Everyone was so friendly. The servers were quick and friendly. The food was really good. The Danish sausage didn't really have that much flavor but otherwise it was a great experience

First time at Paula's, the Danish pancake stood out right away. It was large and thin, almost crepe like, but packed with flavor. It was genuinely delicious, my son loved it and we finished it quickly. The eggs and sausage on the side were solid as well. We also ordered the country fried steak, which was just as good. Crispy, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. Parking takes a little effort. Street spots can be hit or miss, but there is public parking nearby. The location is also super convenient if you're planning to stop by the Olesons. Service was friendly, and the whole experience felt immersive, like stepping into a small piece of Danish culture.

I was inspired to come here after seeing it on a few different social media channels. I was camping a few miles away from here and decided to stop by before heading home. I got here around 8AM on a Thursday and there was already a line. Since I was solo, I sat at the counter. Service was great. All the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The Danish pancakes were absolutely delicious! Kinda sucks I paid $20 for 2 pancakes and a cup of coffee. Nevertheless, I was very happy with my meal and I'd absolutely come back in the future.

I couldn't stop eating it. Absolutely no room for the pot pie. Owner is super cool and inviting. All kinds of different people in this place. I love to come back here every time I'm in solving.

This place is non-descript yet just off the main park downtown, and an easy walk from most of the major hotels in town, or the central parking lot - plus lots of street parking as well. It seems rather small, with one area for bar seating and small tables, plus a larger dining area "next door" to the bar, but I like the bar ambiance, so it may be challenging on busy tourist days. Luckily, I travel on non-busy days and have always had a good seat. The ambiance is great, with a typical, colorfully decorated pub feel with TVs offering an invitation to relax and have a pint - or two! The menu is varied, and I had planned for what I wanted, but when the server/bartender/boss offered the daily special as an option, I quickly jumped at the chance. The special was a queso dip with house-made chips, and I had to try it! Sadly, I also ordered my usual, the Cobb salad. Sadly, because after the "appetizer" arrived, I quickly realized the full consequences of the saying "your eyes are bigger than your stomach!" The dip and chips were plentiful in both, and for me would have made a great meal on their own. But I was committed and managed to finish the salad. On my previous visit, I had the mac 'n cheese and the Cobb salad, along with a Guinness dark! That was sooo tasty as well! The food at this visit was great, and the service was as well. Sam, who is the owner, bartender, server, and jack-of-all-trades, is always friendly, professional, and efficient, no matter how busy it is, and this visit was the only one outside the kitchen. If you're in the area, give them a try! And leave room for dessert - I have yet to do that, but you can learn from my mistakes!

Fantastic experience! We wanted to stop by a lunch spot on our way back from San Diego and decided…read morefor Industrial Eats. The food was very much to die for and at pretty reasonable prices, our meal came out to be ~$80. Lots of cute pictures done by one local artist for sale and TONS of cookbooks lining the self service area. Extensive menu. We got the: Escargo and Bread - Absolutely amazing, buttery, decadent. Nothing to complain about here. Mussels and Frites - Delicious and perfect for two servings. We took the sauce home and made a pasta with it. Fries are great. Brussel Sprouts - My least favorite as it was undercooked and not as crispy as I would've liked but still delicious. Only thing I would knock on is the bathroom. The toilet seat is quite industrial. Would definitely come back.

Once we set down and receive the turkey sandwich, I was really disappointed. It was very small.. I shared it along with the shrimp and the bread. .....two days later went back to the resturant & spoke to the manager/ owner woman. I sat with her to explain how rude the shirt was for counter woman to wear..because there was families with kids .The owner seemed to not care..She offered me another turkey sandwich. IT looked normal size. I thanked her and AS I WAS LEAVING SHE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY..." Hope to See you Fuc_ing soon. This shocked me and proved that the woman was crude and extremely unprofessional. This place has gone downhill. She just lost a lifetime customer, and obviously she didn't care..
