I knew I had a trustworthy inspector when Shane informed me of serious health and safety issues with a house. He is not afraid to give you a straight answer and he will definitely tell you like it is. This incensed my real estate agent when she found out what he told us. His honesty and forthrightness made me realize I had the right inspector but the wrong real estate agent. Obviously, I cancelled the contract on the 1st house and replaced my real estate agent but kept my inspector. :D Shane was there to inspect the next house that we ultimately closed on. I hired FBI for my home inspection. This is the third time I've hired an inspection company and FBI was the most detailed and thorough. Jared was extremely detail oriented, went on the roof, into the back of the attic, under cabinets, drone arial views, everywhere! He explained things I didn't understand, like how a furnace (which I've never owned) differs from a heat pump AC. He found exposed exterior pipes that were not UV rated and recommended I paint them with exterior paint to avoid cracking ... how would I have known that!! Do you know what a weep screed is?!
