I paid the full amount a few thousand dollars, through Cherry Financing, which meant the dental office was paid in full upfront, and I made my payments to Cherry. I want to point out that the doctor himself is very friendly and professional. However, I was repeatedly told by the office staff that the doctor is not in charge of pricing, billing, or deciding what is or is not covered under the treatment plan. That made it very frustrating because even if the doctor discussed my treatment with me, the office staff claimed his decisions did not determine what I would ultimately be charged. Halfway through my treatment, the office staff--who, unfortunately, were often dismissive and belittling--told me I owed additional money because the doctor had performed extra work. While the doctor did mention he would be doing an additional step, he never told me there would be an extra charge. If I had known beforehand, I could have made an informed decision. When I questioned the charge, the attitude toward me changed completely. Even the office manager, who had always greeted me before, stopped acknowledging me when I came in. Eventually, we reached a compromise where I paid only a percentage of the additional charge since I had never been informed of the extra cost in advance. To make matters worse, my final deep cleaning was never completed because the office claimed it was not included in my original treatment plan and that I would have to pay out of pocket. I showed them the original treatment plan, which I believed supported my understanding, but they still refused to complete the treatment without additional payment. My experience taught me to get every detail in writing and to ask specifically whether any part of your treatment could result in additional charges. The doctor was always kind, but the billing practices and the way I was treated by the office staff after questioning unexpected charges left me very disappointed.

The dentist I saw (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) was so compassionate and thorough, taking time to explain everything clearly. I came in needing a root canal on tooth 15 (top left molar). It's a tough one--lots of roots and overlapping a nerve--but they were transparent about the complexity and strongly recommended a specialist from the start rather than risking complications. I truly appreciated that honesty. Here's the part that floored me: with my insurance, they quoted just $663 for the root canal and crown--a drastic difference from what I've been quoted at other offices. I'll be returning for the crown work, which they estimated at only $362.50 after insurance. They also have two massage chairs in the waiting room, which adds a little touch of comfort you don't expect from a dental office. The women's restroom was very clean, though the hot water wasn't working--a minor issue in an otherwise fantastic experience. I've always dreaded the cost of dental care, but The Smile Mission helped me worry less and smile more. Work done does not last and they will claim that the work is not warranted because you didn't come in for cleanings - but, when you call to schedule cleanings, you are told there is no hygienist available or they have no appointments available for months. They will also tell you that they "recommend" deep cleaning (at $500 out of pocket), but when you tell them you would like to decline their "recommendation" and would just like a regular cleaning, then suddenly the deep cleaning is "required" rather than "recommended"! SERIOUSLY! When I finally decided that I would no longer give them my money - they initially refused to give me my records even after I filled out their release. It took me nearly two months to get my records - and, I had to threaten further action before they would send them. SERIOUSLY, do not waste your time with this place. There are much better options available!
