They were ok up until the billing. I came in for a 2nd opinion on my daughters cavity and received a good faith estimate of $36 but the bill came back $153 and another $31 that my insurance company has all ready looked at and refused so I am sure I will receive that as well. I saw their coupon on their web page, printed the coupon, and Took an appointment. I went there and filled the paperwork out. I asked about the cost of new patient x-ray+exam+cleaning for $79 like the coupon indicated, The reply was they do not have anyone to do the cleaning therefore I have to do only the x-ray+exam and will cost $114 not the $79 that is IN their coupon. Is that false advertising or a scam or phishing? ... Then when I refused and asked for my paperwork back, the rudeness started and the hand gestures. So I got out of there before they beat me up. This place needs to be investigated for false advertising. And should be on the local news NEXT! read more

I have been going here for close to 2 years and was 10 minutes late for my appointment today and the door was locked. I called from the parking lot and the reception is said that they have a 10 minute grace period and the hygienist had left the building. So she must have evaporated. This would be fine if I hadn't already gone to a scheduled appointment in the past year and the door was locked and I was told that because of covid they had closed but no one bothered to call me before my appointment. Not to mention appointment I did go to another time I waited 40 minutes in the waiting room. It doesn't seem like they want your business but I really liked the dentist I did see. Unfortunate the scheduling issues seem to make it very difficult. Not used to having a locked door when I'm trying to go to a scheduled appointment. read more

I have been going to Florida Dental on Ulmerton Road in Largo for at least 10 years, and I can not say enough good things about the staff. Dr. Radford is absolutely amazing, not to mention brilliant!! Dr. Radford is highly skilled and gentle. And the crowns are so perfect that they feel like my natural teeth. Very smooth and comfortable. She and her assistant make an amazing team. Also, Brandi, the dental hygienist is awesome. I always look forward to seeing her! Everytime I come here whether for a cleaning or something else the employees are wonderful and friendly.

Cheaper then other places. Work isn't best absolutely possible but it's done correctly in my experience. They may just do a root canal rather then try to save a tooth. But you'll save $150-$200 on each cavity. So it balances out. If you don't mind spending more on cavities and possibly not needing a root canal when this place would do a root canal then go to a little practice. read more

I had a bit of discomfort when biting down on one crown, so while I was out and this location was close to where I was, I decided to stop in to see if I could get it checked out. I do have one closer to my house, and Dr. DeVaul in the St.Pete office did all the work I have in my mouth now. But, like I said, I was closer to the Largo office, so instead of running to St.Pete I went here. When I first walked in, I asked Mandy if I could possibly see a dentist today, and told her the issue. She was very cordial, said that I could, and handed me papers to fill out. A few minutes later, another lady came to get me (forgot her name) to do the x-ray. Within minutes of meeting here, she made no less than 2 not so nice comments about me not calling before I came in. By the end of the visit, she had made no less than 5 comments about me not calling first. Well, it's not like I demanded them to drop everything to see me, and I didn't realize that walking in would be an issue at this office. I could have gone to another one if I'd known it was going to be such an issue. I just asked if I could see a dentist!! Maybe I should have called from the parking lot? Or maybe she should remove the sign and ad on their website that says "Walk ins welcome"! Anyway, I can't say how good the dentist is since I only saw her for a minute, she recommended that I see an oral surgeon and was gone. Now I had to deal with the other one again. She told me their oral surgeon is only in on Wednesdays but she'd give me a referral to another one not affiliated with FD. I asked her about the ones in the St.Pete or Clearwater offices and she said she couldn't give me a referral for them. Wth? I asked her why, and she said "policy". Yet, she knew the St.Pete oral surgeon was booked solid for 3 weeks and the one in Clearwater is in on Fridays. Hmmmm.... Then she says that if I go to one at another FDC he might charge me extra since I'm not a patient at that clinic. But the one that has nothing to do with FDC won't? She said no because she's sending the info to him. So she can send to someone outside FDC but not inside? Is it me, or am I missing something? So, I now have an appointment with the oral surgeon at the Clearwater FDC that was made in the Largo office by Mandy. (Thank you) But now after reading other reviews, I'm thinking of just going to Dr. DeVaul at the St.Pete office for a second opinion before I see the oral surgeon in Clearwater. I've never had a tooth pulled by a surgeon, don't see why I need to now. Oh yeah, I had a coupon for that I got online for a $27.00 emergency visit, but didn't dare mention it since I'd already been such an inconvenience. Paid $57.00 read more

went to get a basic cleaning and all was just fine until I went to the room to get teeth cleaned. A young lady was cleaning my teeth but she started off scrapping them with the drill item and kept hitting my gums and they started bleeding then she tells me I'm bleeding a lot. i tell her it's cause she's hitting my gums and it hurts. then she barely cleaned my teeth. some teeth still don't feel really clean. would not recommend this place read more

By far the worst experience ever. Do not go here. In short, I sent prior dental xrays there. I checked "Yes they are here". When I arrived for a teeth cleaning the receptions first of all took a phone call for 10 minutes while I waited at the window. No "So sorry I need to take this" or "I will be with you in a minute". I knew I might be in trouble right there from her nasty tone. Then "These Xrays don't have a date". I say "be good if you told me, it was about a year ago". She says "We cannot do a teeth cleaning w/o an exact date". I called my prior dentist and it was 13 months ago. She says "Have to have new ones if more tha 18 months". I say "13 months". She talks to the dentist there and says "you must have Xrays for us to do anything". I say "13 months you told me" she says "Dentist here says have to have them". I say fine (I avoid radiation when I can). I see the radiology lady who was very nice. Says a whole mouth plus a circular Xray. I said I'd rather not. She says "I will try to handle for you". The receptionist in a nasty tone "I told him". I said never mind you lost a customer. She says "It's against the law not to have those". I say "show me". She says, "look it up". I don't believe here. I told her to look at my reviews and BBB as the assertion that it is a requirement is false. I never made it to teeth cleaning or the dentist, the receptionist there was nasty, zero caring or understanding. Glad I'm going elsewhere. read more

I went to Florida Dental Centers in Largo because I was told by my friend that her experience was "amazing". I had gone there a long time ago as a teenager and I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give the benefit of the doubt. I explained my concerns when I went in, they took x-rays, and then examined my teeth. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. 1. You didn't listen to me, about what I wanted. You must assume that all your patients are morons with zero ability to do their own research, the fact that I even told you what my past dentist who retired had said, you just didn't care. You just pushed the same rhetoric as before. I need root canals, and crowns, and all this extra bull crap you tried on me when I was a teenager. YOU told me you wouldn't even start on my teeth because I needed peritonitis treatments. What was it the assistant said 'not worth doing the work if your gums aren't properly cleaned." And this all added up to a total of 10 Grand. (basically a used car right there.) But you take carecredit, so who cares about creating debt on your patients. So long as you get paid. 2. I got a second opinion, guess what! YOU LIED. Not only are my gums healthy, the dentist took one look at the paperwork you gave me, and was confused as to why you didn't even try my way. So my teeth were done. A total of $1,025, and it was ALL FILLINGS and zero complications, even my deep fillings you said needed root canals. 3. Your BS line about the best care possible is a sales pitch to meet your stupid monthly quotas. I am so glad I wasn't scammed by you all. I will NEVER recommend you to anyone. You simply do not care even when the patient had a dentist prior to you. YOU Charge outrageous prices forcing people to choose one of the highest credit cards, carecredit, for medical expenses out there. And lastly, dear people reading this review. Do the research. Get second opinions no matter where you go. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE FLORIDA DENTAL CENTERS, or ANY DENTIST for that matter who tells you, you have zero say in your treatment. I had a new patient appointment at Florida Dental Centers (Largo location) yesterday that ended up being a nightmare. They checked me in and let me sit there for over an hour. I'm a very patient person but this was getting ridiculous, I kept seeing people come in after me being called back. I finally go up to the counter and politely ask if this is normal procedure and waiting time... the girl looks looks at me all catty like and says someone should have told me that my appointment was cancelled because the hygienist wasn't in. So, they allowed me to check-in, sit there for over an hour watching old people come in and out and then don't even apologize for their huge mistake. I ended up leaving. I will never be back to this unprofessional office again. I wouldn't recommend this place! read more

I had a very positive experience today at Florida Dental on Ulmerton Rd. Had previously gone to the clinic on Seminole Blvd where I was seen and told to return in a week for an X-Ray, etc. Was advised of various impending charges. Didn't want to wait a week as my partial plate was broken and I just wanted it repaired. Decided to try Florida Dental and am so glad I did. Staff were pleasant and Dr. Spinuso efficient and kind. I had an unfortunate incident involving my tooth and a stubborn jawbreaker candy last night. After an emergency call to find a dentist this morning, in a new area that we just moved to, I was very relieved to get an appointment at Florida Dental. The experience of having an emergency extraction was definitely unpleasant but was made so much more bearable by the gentle, considerate and friendly staff. I was also very relieved when they gave me the written estimate before doing anything. The prices were far more reasonable than I had feared. Overall I would say the experience was quite pleasant if it weren't for the actual tooth part. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was because of a minor meltdown by a receptionist while I was waiting and the fact that I had to wait for awhile before going in. read more

Over the years, I've spent considerable time in the dental chair. In fact I was a dental assistant in my twenties quite some time ago. So when I realized I was going to need pretty extensive bridge work, I started researching local dentists. I'm glad I did. For what my former dentist would have charged, I received 2 more crowns and 2 root canals. I now have a smile I'm proud of. Dr Radford is very gentle and completely explains what to expect. My experience with her assistant, Zlota, was exceptional as well. They worked together smoothly and effortlessly to provide me with great cosmetic results. I have encountered crooked medical professionals before but these guys take the cake. They said I needed a root canal even though I had no pain and they said my wife needed thousands f dollars of dental work. I followed up with a different dentist who could identify no reason at all for a root canal, and follow up work for both me and my wife was minimal. Went to Florida Dental after finding them on Cigna website as an in network provider. After verifying our insurance and coverage we were charged a reasonable amount for the service that were provided. 2 weeks later we received a bill for an additional $160.00. To be paid immediately. After a call to the insurance company it turns out that the Dentist that they used that day was not in network and our Deductible changed from $50 to $250, because of the Dentist that was in the office on that day. Really. After talking to the billing department at Florida Dental I was informed that the patient should have done their due diligence and made sure that they requested an in network provider. I explaining to her that they (Florida Dental Service) were listed on Cigna's Website and we came to them and provided them with proof of insurance that they had to call and prequalify us for treatment and they were well aware of what was covered and what was not. She let me know assuming they would continue to give us in network treatment was my mistake. The print in their contract (you know the contract that you sign just wanting relief because your in pain)states that some of the providers that they use do not subscribe to ppo's and other insurance. I asked her if they felt any obligation to verbally tell any of their patients this she stated no its not office policy. THIS IS THE DAY MEDICAL PROFESSIONS HAVE BECOME A BUSINESS ONLY INTERESTED IN THE INTAKE OF MONEY AND NO LONGER ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF A PERSON. I've been coming here for years. Original appeal was that they were open Saturdays. When I started coming the staff was friendly and courteous. A few years back they got a new dentist who is pushy and rude. Every time I step through the door, she inundates me with completely unnecessary dental work recommendations. Only reason for the second star is the hygienist is really cool. read more
