The Motel is Literally On the beach & a short walk to the village where all the action is. I enjoyed a Clean spotless room with excellent hospitality. Easy check in & check out. It was a beautiful stay. The softest Beach sand I ever walked on. White powder! For that you have to come visit. For all future Siesta Key visits , Siesta Sands on the Beach will be my home base. Nothing else needed. Park right at your door & walk in to a first or second floor unit. Only 16 units total, all with direct beach view & access. You can view the individual condo units online and chose the one you want. Flexibility to rent a few nights or a week. We rented unit 71 for 3 nights. We preferred 1st floor as you have a small patio on the front and back. #71 is one bedroom but has sofa pull-out bed if desired. The owner has it fully engineered with 3 ceiling fans, USB ports, storage everywhere, kitchen with all dish-ware, 2 TV's, plus all the little items you may have forgotten to bring. Well thought out for many little conveniences. Bonus, it is only a 7 minute walk to the village where there are many shops, restaurants, etc., but little parking available day or night. We walked to the Summer House and the Cottage and recommend both.

A once friendly resort has turned downwards. First the ownership will no longer communicate directly with future guests and has retained a new management company, without notifying long term guests. And of course new policies are in place. Once your security deposit is given you are out of luck if you need to make a change. In other words your $$$ are gone. Last year they owned two properties and they sold the one closer to the beach. It's also worth noting the area has changed dramatically. Beach access yes, but good luck trying to find a spot to sit. The hotels have claimed the beach front and you will need to walk quite a distance to find a spot. Also the width of the beach has deteriorated due to the reduction of the sandbar. With all these changes it's time to find a friendlier location. And the response from the Owners during these changes will be crickets. Shame on you Koch family!

The beach was very dirty, and after coming out of the water, you have to be an acrobat to avoid falling due to the steep slope. Honestly, I would not return to Tortuga Beach. People are friendly, its quiet but not far from the action. You can walk or use the exercise room or swim for exercise, Next door is not only the restaurants but a marina where you can rent boats or go for a "short cruise". You'll love it, its home in heaven!

Sea Shell Condo's are located on Crescent Beach, Siesta Key. This is probably the perfect place for a wedding as well. Prices are on the high end, figure about $200 per night + tax. These look worth the price to me for sure! Great for 4 people. They have a nice pool too! The nice thing is the location, right across the street from Captain Curt's. Also Stickney Pointe Rd is almost right across the street. For those staying during holiday weekends like July 4th, you won't to wait in that Siesta Key Beach traffic. This alone is worth staying at Sea Shell. Make a right to go across the bridge, when coming back stay in the left hand lane and avoid the traffic.
