Well you'll have to sit on the phone with a robot saying "ITS SOMETHING ELSE" until you rip all your hair out and they FINALLY forward you to a line where an actual person is on, and you have to wait on hold because they explain "they are helping customers with hardships right now" AS IF WE ARENT ALL DEALING WITH HARDSHIPS RN? I moved out from where I was as my former roommates took over the bill and had to make their own account. It forced them and I to pay the exact same bill. When I tried reaching customer service by phone, it wouldn't give me the option to reach anyone. It made my former roommates make multiple of the same payments for things as well. They will steal your money and there is nothing you can do about it. FPL is hell and there is no escape. read more

FPL has no problem finding the address when they are sending you a bill for services at address, but can't find the address when you ask them to turn off services and it is your problem not theirs. How convenient. Their way of notifying you is a email, while you are in the middle of packing and moving, I guess it is to much to ask for them to pick up a phone and call you (yes, the number is provided and documented on the account along WITH the service address). read more

So, there have been some great and not-so-great moments with FPL over the last 5 years. First I commend them for getting power restored quickly after hurricane Ian, at least where I live. Within two days of the storm, my power was back on. NOW for the not-so-good. My bills have gone from expensive to ridiculous over the last two years. Two years ago my bill slowly crept up from $200 per month to about $350 per month. I decided to get Solar which then dropped my bill down to $60 per month for 2 months. Then my bill went to $100, then $200, then $250 per month. When I add in what my solar panels are generating for me to use to the net difference between what I give to FPL in surplus vs. what they give to me, basically if I did not have solar I would be paying $600 per month. I understand that natural gas and oil prices rose, and I also get their costs associated with Ian (which doesn't FPL have any insurance......just saying) but this is ludicrous. When oil prices were really low a few years back my bill never went down. What happened to all that excess that they had during that time? It seems like every 3 months they are raising rates. I'm about ready to get a herd of gerbils with some running wheels and let them create power for me using physical energy. I'm sure feeding gerbils and creating a contraption to harness their power would be less expensive per month..... read more

In Northwest Florida we were forced to go from Gulf Power, SUPERIOR COMPANY, to this nonsense! Someone made money! Our bill immedately went up, and service down. I have a energy program Thermostat to save a bit on my bill. When FPL took over the TS turns AC on in the winter, heat on in the middle of the night. Supposed to Shut down cooling at 2PM in summer months, and then come back on at 6PM. It lowered the temp to 68, came home from work and my ac was running wild and the house was freezing. Tried calling FPL and absolutely NOTHING! Trash company! No wonder so many in South Florida hate them. Now we are stuck with them! read more

FPL ruined our ac capacitor by abruptly shutting down our electric without giving any prior notice to us even though the crew saw my husband outside and had a chance to advise us. I had to sleep on a recliner outside with my broken shoulder that night because it was too hot inside. This was not an outage nor emergency work. Now, they refuse to pay the ac repair bill. My ac is only 2 years old. This is disgraceful!! read more

Customer service is absolutely terrible. The amount of outages in my area is unreal, but what really takes the cake is that when you call and tell them about the best answer they can give is basically the whole day. The most recent outage at my home happened the other day and when we called to tell them they said our power would be back on a 10:30PM- mind you the power had been out since before 3 when someone finally got home- but no one actually showed up until 3AM. I'm sorry but with the prices that we pay for this "service" you need to do a better job taking care of people. We are a construction company currently working on a multi-million project in Lauderdale be the Sea. We've contacted supervisor Mateo in April to relocate the transformer and remove a safety hazard. It's 6 month after and job is not done. This supervisor is impossible to reach. He responds once in two weeks with excuses promises to push their contractor. And never comply. 6 Month of delay and FPL safety hazard still there. Now we are looking into serious construction delay and possible legal actions towards FPL. read more

I'm permanently disabled sick all the time. On oxigen at home. on SSI low income, no food stamps. I didn't noticed I was late for a couple of days all of the sudden they throw me a bill doubled the amount just for a couple of days late? Just like most of these reviews, I wish I could give a Zero star rating! This company is awful! You can't get to a "live" person before spending 15-20 minutes on the phone trying to navigate their incessant IVR system with options that are not relevant to your issue. There is no option to get to a live person. If you are patient and lucky enough to get 6 layers deep in their IVR and select the nebulous "its something else" option, you may get a live person, but my experience is they could care less. They could have just as easily been automated robots because all they did was repeat the same thing in a monotone which "screams" I Don't Care About Your PRoblem, and I won't lift a finger to help resolve it. Plus, given that their are no alternative provides, we are stuck with them. Well they better look out because as soon as a choice is available I will jump ship. Shame on this company, and shame on the customer service "supervisors" and "managers" whose best advice is to "navigate the IVR" RRRRGGGGGHHHHH it's infuriating!!! read more

Great response time. Our power was working at half power. After completing an online outage form, I got a call within 20 minutes. FPL came by the house in about an hour and a half. I wish all companies would be that responsive! Personable and efficient! Way to go FPL. read more

Literally the most useless individuals alive. They were doing work and left some wires hanging low. The next day, a city garbage truck hit and ripped the lines down. The line layed in the road all day, finally they sent someone after being on calls with them for 2 hours. They said it wasn't their line and rather them fix the problem they cut the line and told us it looked like the cable companies line and we need to contact the cable company. Very poor customer service and lack of care for the neighborhood. Just another reason to leave this garbage area where no one cares about their worksmanship or fixing their wrong. read more

Very horrible company. The world is in a crisis and income is limited and all they can offer customers is not disconnecting your service if you owe. In the midst of this corona crisis I forgot to deposit my monthly payment so naturally the automatic payment setup returns the payment and they add $30 to your bill. I called thinking they could understand my plight as I am really struggling but all the supervisor could say it was protocol and they can't. Really horrible!!! I don't know if consumers have a choice in selected FPL, but if they do, pick this one. When I signed up for online bill pay, I got a $25 gift card at restaurants.com. Customer service was always pleasant. When I moved condos, they automatically.canceled my account and processed my deposit refund with the credit due back to me for the month. They closed our 27 year old account without our knowledge or permission. Very happy with how quickly FPL was able to bring my electricity Back after a horrible rain and lightning . I called made my report and the estimated repair time was exactly the time my lights came back on. While I know people complain about other issues related to customer care. I'm rather pleased and very satisfied with the network outside team and how quickly they resolved the issues. I've also had the pleasure of a few years back dealing with some line men when I moved to our home and they were extremely nice and just overall great guys. read more

Few months in of taking over Vero Beach electric, FPL is searching for deposits. I have lived here for six years and had Vero Beach electric up to FPl took over. Always played bill and never had to pay deposit. FPL who was going to drop our rates was a very warm welcome. Until now. I just received a notice that I need to make a $400 deposit or sign up for direct pay. It turns out that is all they want. Direct access to your account. Not so happy customer. read more

I tried to contact FPL about an error on my bill and soon found out that their customer service is virtually nonexistent. First I tried to contact them through their on line customer service but there was no category that covered an error on the bill. I then tried their phone number. It is completely automated and when I said "error on bill" the robot said " that option is not available" . Next I asked for a representative and you guessed it. "that option is not available".
