The exterior of this Cuban restaurant might not look like much but the 2025 interior remodel resulted in a very sleek yet basic interior. I found it very comfortable and the waitstaff to be so nice and charming. I came with a friend for lunch. We started with an appetizer of fried plantain chips along with the complementary basket of bread. While the bread was nothing out of the ordinary, I really enjoyed the crunchy chips while waiting for my main dish: Lechon Asado. Lechon Asado consisted of slow-roasted pork marinated in garlic sauce with sauteed onions on top. It came with fried plantains and moros (Cuban black beans and rice). The pork was so tender! Everything on my plate was incredibly delicious. I rarely have Cuban food so this was a real treat. I thought it was priced very reasonably too.

Chill vibe, the waitress was great and suggested their best sellers. The food is 10/10.

Delicious food! We had my mother-in-law's birthday lunch here and Ruby our server was so nice! We ordered several dishes and they were all great. It's really nice and clean inside and a very welcoming ambiance. We would definitely be back!

I heard Florida Restaurant has been here for many years and recently reopened after renovating. The interior has a modern look with hanging faux plants and cool black and white photos taken in Cuba. A friend proposed coming for lunch, so we checked it out. We got here around noon and as soon as we entered, a waft of sewage smell struck us. I wanted to walk right back out and find another place, but my friend still wanted to stay. As more patrons came in, we could hear them making comments about the smell too. Eventually, the place was filling up and the smell was masked by food being served. However, I will say that the cafe con leche was really good and strong! This was probably my favorite item here. The beef and spinach empanadas were a nice size, average in taste. The Arroz con Pollo was a bit bland and wished there was a little more chicken with it. They served a habanero salsa, which I appreciated and poured on this dish to make it better. Our server was very nice and attentive. My friends and I took our time catching up and they were totally cool with that despite getting busy while we were there. Overall, the food was average, but they really need to address that bad sewage smell asap!!

Note; Bring cash, chicken lacked flavor, steak was flavorful, the "cuando sali de Cuba" was pretty good and flavorful. Skip the chicken soup, it was pretty bland. Service is great. Papa rellenas come out bursted with the ingredients half out. Ask for the salsas they are flavorful and not very spicy. I would definitely be open to come again (I had the steak plate) my husband and son said never again. They didn't like the chicken plate or the soup. Also don't sit next to the kitchen I think they wash dishes or something near that window cause I kept getting Cleanjng supply smells

Finally!!! Came today for their soft opening and boy the food was delicious! The inside is beautiful and modern, very white and bright! I got Lechon Asado, flavorful tender meat paired well with the onions on top. The rice that came on the size had great flavor as well. Came with a side of black beans and 3 plantains. We tried a chicken and beef empanada and it was crispy On the outside with super tender shredded meat stuffed inside.

It is highly recommended that you stop by this Cuban gem. I have driven by this place for years but have not tried the food until now. I had one of the best tasting Rabo Encendido that I ever had. The oxtails were cooked tender in a delicious sauce that had just a tiny hint of wine. Some restaurants are quite heavy handed with the wine but this place was perfect. A few peas were scattered on top of the dish which made the presentation very appealing to me. The portion size was good with two big meaty oxtails and two smaller ones. The meal came with black beans, rice, and maduros. The plantains were nice and ripe, slightly caramelized so there was a slight sweetness. The rice was seasoned well with a good flavor. I was tempted to order another portion because it really complemented the oxtails and the black beans. I had an Iron Beer to go with my delicious meal. There is a definite return in the near future to this restaurant. I look forward to trying other items on their menu. Service was friendly and efficient. I was there with a childhood friend and did not feel rushed when we lingered over dinner. Recently renovated, the dining room is modern, airy, and comfortable. There is also plenty of parking in the dedicated lot.

Asere Qué Bolá Thrilled Florida is back up and running. Visited recently and Florida hasn't missed a beat. The flavors were consistent and the new upgraded decor was a nice modern touch. The service was pleasant and greeted with a friendly smile Had the Pan con Lechon & Bistec Empanizado.... Still very impressed, Florida! Glad you're back and we're certainly coming back for more.... Especially the oxtail dish!!!

Finally had the chance to go here for their re-opening. Ambiance was more clean, modern look with great service from the ladies. Same layout from the previous restaurant, just updated, clean / modern vibes. During the weeknight, the wait wasn't bad - seated within 5-7 minutes around dinner time. The food was good, with side avocado salad and the carne con papas. The meat was tender and flavorful. Good local spot with daily lunch special (up until 4pm).

I loved the fact that as soon as you walk in you feel very welcomed by the waitresses. The restaurant looks upscale and very clean, the food is delicious and it was very easy to make up my mind with the help of my hostess Andrea giving me 1 to 2 recommendations from each section. I got the rabo encendido and it was absolutely delicious!

So I now find out that this place had caught fire and this is the reason it was closed and I assumed that it just went out of business, now I find out the real reason for them having closed . This place is great , I always get the chicken breast with rice and beans and it's simply delicious , juicy and flavorful. I'm glad this place is back and it's a new restaurant inside, the place is completely new , very modern and the same owners own it as I was told, this place is great and we're happy to have it back .

Review #615 None Elite Squad Hmmm.. so im not going to lie, ive seen this restaurants for years on Lakewood Blvd and I never went in..until now.. the remodeled version .. and when I said ok..im gonna get some Cuban food..I make the mistake of not getting a Cuban Dish..like Ropa Vieja or a Torta Cubana or Vaca Frita..nope..for some strange reason I got the Mixed Fajitas.. I dont know why..maybe because I saw the main cook with a Mexican hat.. but im telling everyone.. dont go to a Cuban Restaurant and eat anything but Cuban food. The restaurant was clean..customer Service ok.. the food was good..not what I expected when it came to Fijitas..mayne theyre Cuban fajitas cause even though they had beef, chicken and Shrimps . they were saucy ..hmmm.. they were served with white rice and watery beans..I think I got 4 pieces of plantains i think..no tortillas ... I Recommend come to this place but get cuban.

I was really excited to learn that this place finally reopened. Plenty of parking. The place is beautiful. The service was just ok. She didn't check on us after she brought our meal. I had the bistek empanizado and my hubby had the bistek con chimichurri. They were ok. His steak was super tender. My empanizado was a good size. The prices were high but that's comparable these days. I didn't like that the prices went up with a credit card and there was NO signage. That's just shady. I'll pay it but I don't appreciate being surprised. The stars were for the food only. Everything else needs some fine tuning.

It was packed when we got there

I was hoping this place would open again. I miss my church Aron de pollo. Nice people. Is it definitely closing in Downey? Will they open somewhere else

    It's officially open again.

Is this place out of business? I heard they would open on two months but it's been longer than that

    Sadly, they've closed permanently.

I've tried just about everything at this point -- the Summer Salad, Caesar Salad, Strawberry Salad, the panini (so good), the peanut butter sandwich, agua fresca, green juice, strawberry smoothie... honestly, if it's on the menu, I've probably ordered it at least once. It's kind of like a different version of Jamba Juice but with more food options, which I appreciate because sometimes I want to feel balanced. You know, salad in one hand, smoothie in the other. Service is always fast, which is crucial during a workday escape. Anna is the sweetest and the person I interact with the most. She's always welcoming, personable, and makes the whole experience feel friendly and easy. The place is very clean, and they always have protein chips and other little goodies on the side if you want to justify adding "just one more thing" to your order. There's also a good amount of parking right up front, so whether you're walking over like me or driving in, it's convenient either way. If you're ever craving a smoothie or a quick fresh bite, this is definitely a solid stop. Happy eats!

I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great.
