I usually love this spot been coming here for a long time I even came for my birthday but today I ordered the golden shrimp roll and a mix ceviche for lunch. I don't know if they change the business owners the menu but no the flavor is not the same. I'm so disappointed because I don't mind paying the price because it's really high, but I'm expecting the same flavor it was very blunt. No taste whatsoever. The roll had no taste & the ceviche It needed a salt some kind of flavor. There was no black sauce that they told me they were gonna put. I'm so disappointed. This was our first time visiting, and we actually found this hidden gem through Yelp. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, Margarita made us feel incredibly welcome. She was friendly, attentive, answered all of our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Her recommendations were spot on. We started with one of their most popular tostadas, and it was absolutely delicious...fresh, flavorful, and packed with taste. Margarita recommended the tacos de pulpo, and they did not disappoint! They were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The camarones cucaracha were amazing, and the guacamole was fresh and delicious as well. My son ordered the New York steak tacos, and they were so good, definitely a hit! We visited Choix Restaurant in Pico Rivera around 6:00 p.m. and had a wonderful experience! Margarita helped us and was incredibly sweet and attentive. The food was delicious--especially the avocado dish, molcajete, sushi, and refreshing lemonade. There was plenty of parking, and the entire staff made us feel very welcome. Cute sit down mariscos spot with amazing service! The seafood was super fresh with no fishy smell and the fajitas came out on a sizzling tray perfectly cooked. The limeade had the perfect amount of sugar, not too sweet. I didn't get a chance to try the sushi so I will have to try that next time. Definitely recommend for a laid back date spot or beers with friends. Outside has TVs so I was able to watch the FIFA game as well. Staff was super friendly, the manager even gave us a coupon for a free dish for the next time. So I have a update for you guys soon. read more

It had been a couple years since I had eaten at Mariscos Choix. Let me tell you the food is so much better than I remember. We ordered aguachile in salsa negra 10/10 definitely going back for that. The ceviche mitotero 8/10 it was good but for my liking I wish it had more callo de hacha. The last thing we ordered was the Arqui Roll it was fire 10/10. Service was amazing I don't recall the ladies name but she was so helpful in suggesting certain plates. With this hot weather I love the option of sitting outside. Came here to have lunch with my friends and it's an ok place. We order fish taco and shrimp it was good. They have a lot of seafood on the menu but the menu in Spanish if your want English you would have to scan a QR on the condiments tray. Service was good the waitress we had she went over on the menu and what was good and what she would recommend. It's very small inside, when you walk in it's a long booth goes against the wall to the other side and they got chairs on the other end, probably 6 tables. It's a small place. read more

First time here and the food was AMAZING! Had the ceviche, the Socrates sushi and it was SO GOOD. No exaggeration, it was some of the best ceviche and sushi I've ever had! Staff is so friendly and they're so quick to greet and seat you. Liliana was our waitress and she gave us great recommendations based on it being our first time and was so friendly. I tried this place, led by all the great reviews. I ordered to go and the first thing they did after I paid, took me outside to wait at one of their benches. It was a hot day and I could not even be inside: Camarones Costa Azul: They stuff them with either ham or spam to make them look bigger and cheat you on the shrimp. Too much salt from the bacon and ham. 1 star Two Tostada Rebeldes: More lime juice and cucumber cubes than shrimp. 1 star And the BS that's happening to all the customers nowadays. I paid over $20.00 tip (for to go food) and my receipt was even suggesting for me to add another few dollars. Don't you dare leaving no tip because who knows what they would do to your food. Total for two tostadas and the Costa Azul, plus tip, $118.00. Funny thing, we went to the Taconazo a couple of days after and ordered similar stuff for a total of $48.00, including tax. No tip charged for to go food and WAY BETTER QUALITY. So, one star per food item and one for the server who was nice, even she threw me outside to wait. I WILL NEVER GO BACK to this place. I sure wish them the best but there are many other places where the rip off is not too painful. read more

I finally got to try Mariscos Choix after much hype from my coworkers, and it was absolutely as good as everyone said it was. Customer service and food were excellent. I couldn't ask for a better dinner experience. I arrived at the restaurant around 7pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant had its own small private lot, and I was lucky enough to snag the last parking spot at the time. The restaurant was much smaller than I expected since it looked so much bigger from the outside. That said, it looked like they also had an outdoor patio with additional seats. I had the pleasure of interacting with two servers that evening. The gentleman, whose name escapes me now, was the nicest guy! He was so personable and such a delight to talk to. Liliana ended up being my primary server, and she was just as friendly and helpful. I felt like they both went above and beyond to ensure I was enjoying my meal and overall experience. Mariscos Choix' menu was huge, which was a bit overwhelming for me. They had lots of items to choose from e.g. ceviches, tacos, sushi, etc. Lili helped me through the menu, and per her recommendation I got the aguachile mixto with rojo sauce. This aguachile was insanely delicious. It was flavorful, and the spice packed a punch. The avocado was an add-on, but for only $2.99 they gave me the entire avocado. What a steal! What made the aguachile a mix was in the two ways the shrimp was prepared - with water and with lime. Some of the shrimp had a firmer texture of being cooked all the way through while the ones made with lime were on the rawer side. I knew by the picture that this plate was going to be big, but I thought to myself, "It's mainly shrimp. I can eat this all no problem." I was stuffed 3/4's of the way through and couldn't finish my meal. Last but not least, I loved their tostadas. Extra crunchy and had a rough masa texture that I liked.
