The bistec encebollado was good and tender but the meat had a lot of fat. It would have been nice if they trimmed it. It was served with white rice and beans. The pollo was good also. It was hubby's plate. He enjoyed it. I thought it was a little too salty for my taste but edible. Pupusas: mixed and queso con jalapeño. I enjoyed the mixed one. It had more flavor. I am a pupusa enthusiast, have visited and tried in El Salvador, and grandma hooks it up for me all the time with the homemade ones. So I like to think I'm pretty well versed when it comes to pupusas. I tend to stay away from places that blend their cheese with or fully use jack cheese, cauze the cheese doesn't settle well nor is it anylike the real thing. But given the reviews and social media marketting, I decided to give it a try. I tried my two faves and go to's queso con chicharron and queso con loroco and was unfortunately disappointed. They're not doughy, and they are well filled. But most is cheese, and the pupusas are extremely and uncomfortably greasy as a result. The chicharon was fair, but the cheese absolutely overpowers the flavor and within seconds that's all you smell (iykyk).The pupusas had no real flavor other than the cheese. The loroco con queso was worse and it was difficult to enjoy the food. The curtido was dry and did not feel nor taste fresh. I unfortunately will not recommend nor return to this place. But if you love your jack cheese and don't care for authenticity you may enjoy these. If you're looking for more authentic pupusas I highly recommend Los Cheros in Gardena. read more

We've tried other pupusas in the area, but nothing compares to Lo'roko in size and taste. There is plenty of seating available for dining in and the menu has a variety of dishes. However, we always call ahead for take-out and we always order the pupusas. Our go to order is the Pupusa Revuelta, which includes beans, cheese, and pork and my husband's favorite dessert, Empanadas de Platano, fried plantains filled with custard. I absolutely love Yucca and ordered it without the Chicharon and topped it with the complimentary curtido and salsa. We love the Pupusas, but the customer service is definitely lacking. YOOOO this was my first time trying pupusas. It's sooooo good. Type of guilty pleasure food when you got them midnight munchies. Imagine quesadillas but with a breadier exterior, deep fried and crispy. It's like a pocket of heaven haha all that cheese and flavor from the chicharron and lard. Oof soooo good. You gotta eat it with the pickled vegetables and light refreshing sauce as well. Balance between fresh crispy, greasy and crispy, gooey cheesy filling makes my mouth tingle. Definitely comin back for more! Also the passion fruit juice was a nice refresher to help balance the pupusas as well. I saw they also have lomo Saltado on their menu. Gotta come back to try that! This place has it all. I used to come all the time when I worked in Downey. It's a small mom and pop restaurant and I think I've ran into the owners a few times and they're wonderful people. Service is always on point but the FOOD. man. They have something for everyone. breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. They have food from all over South America... its hard to pick a favorite. I mean I guess you'd assume that pupusas are their bread and butter and you wouldn't be wrong.... but everything is good. I love their tamles, their atole, lomo saltado, sopas, alfajores?!?!?! man. They even have simple meals that even kids would enjoy like your typical hamburgers and what not. I love their curtido that comes with the pupusas. not too tart, not too salty, perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and refreshing. Portions are always generous and filling. They do dine in, take out, and delivery. eat what you want, wherever you want. really the perfect choice for dinner or a quick lunch. or a snack. Love this place. Been here several times and we continue to drive here from Huntington Beach because they have the best Pupusas and great friendly service. Ryker helped us out this time and she was super great, attentive and got us what we need. She continued to come by and check on us during our visit. That goes along way for me. Food is great, service is even better... I had the camarones Rancheros which I asked to make spicy and it was amazing. I always get at least 3 pupusas. One for the visit and 2 to take home with me.
