Simply put, the skydiving experience is AMAMZING!! There's nothing else like it, but the 1 minute in the air does not make up for the 2 hours wait, extreme heat, and disorganization. I feel bad for the skydiver employees because they were super nice & on top of making you feel comfortable but the business just does not have it together. After waiting to hours, you are then super rushed to get onto the plan and you're second guessing whether you know all you need to know. You get a few simple instructions and that's it! I was okay with it but I thought there would be more. Overall, skydiving is the bomb but the waiting process and set up bites. Enjoy! read more

You can get video , pictures and music to add on to your jump. I am so pleased with my experience here ! I couldn't of picked a better way to start my 25th birthday celebration! Everyone here was super cool. They were all encouraging and friendly. Pip is the man! He was my tandem skydive partner and I couldn't ask for a better person to have my first jump with! He was so nice and he was very thorough in explaining how and why everything was done. I was definitely nervous for the jump and he did well to put me at ease. My friend bought the video package for our jump and I think they did a great job on the video and they put it together so quickly after the jump! I was very impressed. If anyone is looking for somewhere to try out skydiving, I would definitely recommend this place! When we first came, we waited around for hours because the weather conditions were not safe for us to jump. We would have just booked another day but my friend and I had travel plans for the next day that could not be moved so we decided to try to wait it out. When it became clear that we were not going to be able to jump that day, we explained our plight to the lady at the front desk. She got a couple of jump instructors and a videographer to agree to come in early, before they normally open, so that we could be the first jump of the day. I am so grateful for their flexibility and willingness to accommodate us. read more

Experienced the same thing you see repeatedly, came an hour before appointment, saw people come after us jump before us and the organization was horrendous. "The in crowd" repeatedly jumped while PAYING customers were consistently pushed to the end up the line. Appointment was at 12 and they finally tried to get us to jump 4 hours after our appointment, 5 hours total of being there... Asked for my money back and left. Horrible experience with family members coming into town and not to mention an hour plus drive to get here. HORRIBLE customer service, find somewhere else where you get treated like a paying customer. read more

The best decision I have ever made was to jump out of a plane!! Florida Skydiving center is great!! The process was easy and the instructors are amazing. My friend and I went for my birthday and had an incredible experience. My instructor Carlos was knowledgeable and fun. They take their jobs and your safety seriously but make it a memorable experience from start to finish. My friends instructor Pascoal calmed her and both instructors had a fun banter that made the trip to 18,000 feet easy! I recommend going big and jumping from the highest altitude!! My friend and I had an awesome time here! We both did a Tandem jump and having an instructor made it very easy. We were able to jump without any stress. My instructor was Gustavo and he was very nice! We chose the 18,000 feet jump and it was incredible! The view was beautiful and the ride was smooth! I would do it again! P.S. The safety instructions were almost nonexistent - they gave us the minimum amount of info to complete the jump. It didn't lessen our experience - we laughed about it. Awesome experience!!! I purchased a groupon and made my appointment 2 months in advance to go first AM on my 29th birthday. My friend and I arrived early, filled out the huge packet of documents and waited our turn. Although I feel like the explanation/training wasn't very clear... Once we got in the air and the doors opened, I forgot everything we were told! My instructor was really great! He talked in my ear throughout the experience calming my nerves. BUY THE PHOTO PACKAGE! I want to set something straight about the negative reviews that I read here regarding this establishment. I already had preconceived notions about this place due to the reviews prior from getting there. The front desk girl can use a class or two in customer service, but other than that the instructors, camera men, and the rest of the crew were awesome!! Being a first time jumper, it did seem a little unorganized preparing us for the jumps. My son and I didn't know where to stand or what to do while waiting for our tandem trainers to come meet us and train us. Once the instructors introduced themselves the rest was 5 stars. The camera man CLARK was friendly, nice, and a tad flirtatious; my British or Australian trainer PIP was awesome, so was his accent. Jumping with my son was even better. It was an awesome experience and I definitely want to do it again! Thank you "the Florida skydiving center" for an awesome day ! Excellent place! After an absolutely horrible experience at Skydive Space Center in Titusville, this place was the total opposite! The entire staff was genuinely friendly. We had to wait a couple hours to jump because of the weather, but we had a good time hanging out, playing pool, and talking with the staff. We left feeling like family, because they treated us like family. The 11k jump was great, the pictures they took of us were fantastic, and it was an overall wonderful experience. Even though for us it's farther away than other skydiving places places, it's definitely worth the trip. read more

The problem here isn't the instructors they are very professional, kind, helpful polite and good-natured it's the management. I brought my wife and family here for her 50th birthday we set the appointment up a month in advance and were explicitly told all five of them could jump at one time no problem at all. When we arrived they had one small plane and we're taking two people up at a time. We were half an hour early for our appointment at 9AM in the morning. It seems like if you're a paying customer here but not part of the in crowd or a regular jumper you are going to get pushed to the end of the line and not accommodated. I watched over and over as "The In Crowd" went up and jumped while my family waited. My daughter and her husband finally made it up and jumped without my wife. Then they tried to accommodate us by bringing in a larger plane from another business in Plant City. When they showed up what do you know she loaded that plane up with every one of her single jumper, you know "The In Crowd" as it were. When my wife and two sons were finally loaded on the second trip of the larger plane five hours later the Florida weather had already kicked in and it was too late. Thunderstorms arrived and they didn't get to jump. The really infuriating part is that the single jumpers had two, three and in one case four jumps already in the same day. It's inconceivable to me that you would charge somebody $150 or more dollars to jump and then treat them like their a second-class citizen. The management of this organization is out of control and out of touch with its customer if you want to cater to only the "In Crowd" regular jumpers then don't advertise yourself as a friendly welcoming Skydiving Center for those folks who are doing their first jump or just doing a get together. We will never come here again, we will never recommend this place. Again it's just an unfortunate circumstance that on my wife's 50th birthday which only comes around once, she had to sit and watch everybody else jump while her and her children sat on the couch wondering if it would ever be there turn and finally after the manager took care of all her buddies and literally 8 1/2 hours later they finally got to jump. So save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to go. I hear the guys in Plant City on Buchman highway are excellent I don't know but that's what I hear. Whatever you do avoid this place unless you want to waste your money and wait behind everybody else. read more

Today was an amazing experience at Florida Skydiving Center. We came for my friends 49th birthday and it was incredible! My instructor was Sanderson and he was awesome!! They take video of you before the plane trip up, during, and while you jump- I highly recommend paying the extra for the video- WORTH IT!! During the entire time my instructor Sanderson made sure I felt comfortable, provided CLEAR instruction and asked each time if I had any questions. At no point during my experience did I feel unsafe or unsure! The guys were awesome! One friend had Pip as an instructor and another had Carlos? , they truly made the experience memorable and I would 150% do it again! Thank you for an awesome day!!! 15/10 stars!!! read more

Try to find some place better. We went for our first skydive here. We took the aff level one class so we didn't have to jump tandem. My boyfriend and I just wanted a fun place to learn how to jump. What we got was poor instruction and lots of negativity. The whole experience didn't make me feel comfortable or valued as a student. It certainly wasn't better once we were in the air either. I would have appreciated a much more supportive and caring team to help me succeed on a first time jump. I would not recommend this facility for first time jumpers or anyone else for that matter. In February 2013 I began training at Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales. My goal, after researching 11 other drop zones, was to pass my AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) Course and attain my A and B Licences at 25 and 50 jumps respectively. My plan was to begin on my late wife, Laura Jean's, birthday February 14, and continue until I had my B Licence. At 62 years old I was apprehensive about embarking on a 'young persons' activity but I found that my instructors David 'Pip' Perry and Greg 'Baglock' Palmer (who was also my cameraman and I consider my good friend) with thousands of jumps each, were highly trained to deal with an 'oldie' beginner like me. Each jump was filmed with Baglock's Go-Pro camera and now I have records of my first dives and later coached dives so I could increase my learning. Many others helped me on my way including their Chief Pilot Mark Sigman, who took his time to help me in every way possible during the day and 'after hours' who I will be eternally grateful to, as well as 'Jumping' Joe Jackson, Frank and Nigel who were all a part of my training and education. I went from a fearful, yet determined, fledgling jumper to a semi-skilled skydiver who can now pack a parachute, spot the jump run, to exiting the plane safely and competently. I can join in formation maneuvers and fly my canopy to land where directed in a way that ensures my and others safety as well. I was instructed by several other trainers there on packing my own parachute (thanks to Erik, Laurie, Chad, Chris) who watched out for me and gave me tips and advice on my final approaches, landing and packing. Barefoot Sophie and manager Betty Hill were always helpful and I can still hear their silky voices directing me to be ready for plane boarding! I bought all of my gear from Billy Bradshaw at his gear store 'Downwind' there on location as his many years of skydiving and gear sales gave me the expertise I needed for equipment selection. I now have 100 jumps and skydive out of the Ranch North in New York as well as Connecticut Parachutists Inc. here in CT.I even have one jump so far out of Skydive Danielson and just completed my 100th jump. I love skydiving and plan to do this for the rest of my life. I will never forget all the wonderful people I dealt with and met at Lake Wales and do hope to return to and call Florida Skydiving Center my first home in this great sport. I stayed in their campground facilties most of the time where we had bonfires and fireside chats and remember staff member Trish who encouraged me to look inside myself till I overcame every obstacle before me. Even though I paid in currency for this training I still remain forever in their debt and consider all to now be my friends. Dave " Socks" Pipeling PS. Let me start this review by stating that after the urging of my children, I changed my mind about sky-diving and instead went with my boyfriend to support him as he checked off this thrilling event from his bucket list. Honestly, after he jumped, I wished that I had done it too. Nestled in the hills of Lake County, is the Florida Skydiving Center. It is at a rural airport literally out in the sticks. The drive was peaceful but a little long. It took about 1.5 hours to get there from Lake Mary. Fairly easy to find, I-4 to 27 if coming from the East. The instructor he had was Anthony. He was incredibly knowledgeable and explained all the specifics of the equipment and what to expect with the jump and the landing. They discussed doing some mid-air flips and other tricks which made the experience even more fun! I purchased the cost of the jump through LivingSocial for $130 which was fairly competitive amongst other offers available at other Sky diving centers. My understanding is that the deal is regularly offered. At least I hope it is available for when I am ready to do it. read more

This place rocks!!! As a licensed fun jumper I have absolutely no complaints about this DZ. Jenny and Betty were awesome at manifest, even holding some loads for a few extra minutes while we would get packed up. Most of the time we would go up to manifest for a jump only to be told they figured we wanted to jump and were already on the load. The local crowd was very accepting and always willing to jump with you. Having the Qatar Army CF team there was great as we were always guaranteed a quick turnaround. Plus they were hilarious and great guys once you got to know them. Heck, skydivers are skydivers no matter where you're from. The best thing is being retired Army my jumps were only $20 each! read more

All around great dropzone! Top notch facilities and awesome staff. The manager, Betty, is one of the sweetest people around. 3 super otters give rides up to a minimum of 14,000ft, which is great as a skydiver. Multiple landing areas with a cross concrete runway make it easy to spot in the air and land. There are a lot of experienced people who know what they're doing, and they do it well. Compared to other dropzones, this is definitely one that you will want to come check out! read more
