Absolutely the worst bar ever & smells just like cigarettes. Feels like you're on the set of a low budget film. Just tacky.

If you want cheap beer and dollar pool tables, this is your spot. They do allow smoking inside, so if that bothers you then maybe stay away.

The only negative comment I have is that the smoking is at an all time high like they legit have to keep the front door open.

Yelpers mentioned The Tavern so we decided to give it a try. This is not the typical place we'd normally visit but I'm so glad we did! Brandon welcomed us in and brought us menus. We arrived around 5 PM on a Friday. It was clear that this is a local watering hole. From the pinball machines, to the dollar bills stapled to the walls, juke box, dart board, and the 'claw' machine it was a very fun experience. I ordered the BBQ Pork. It was excellent and the portion size was generous. I needed a to-go box for my leftovers! My husband ordered the Birria Burrito. Brandon was very helpful answering my husband's questions as he'd never had Birria before. It was a good choice for my husband. Throughout our meal, Brandon checked on us and refilled our drinks several times. He chatted with us as well and seemed to be working the entire restaurant on his own. Prices here are quite reasonable. The restrooms were clean. After a hectic afternoon of traveling to Orlando, The Tavern was a fantastic place for us to unwind and have dinner. Thank you, Brandon!

The birria burrito was generously filled, flavorful, and especially good with their house hot sauce. We also shared the chicken nachos, which arrived piled high with toppings instead of leaving half the chips bare. The strawberry margarita was refreshing and paired perfectly with everything. There are plenty of TVs for watching a game, but the music and crowd still give it more personality than a typical sports bar. The kitchen stays open late, making this a reliable place to grab tacos or a burrito after a night downtown.

While it is nothing like it used to be back when Vintage, Vyce, and some of the older bars/night lounges existed, it is still a solid spot. It has also SURVIVED the various neighboring bar changes throughout the years. The bartenders, throughout the years, have also been quite solid! I have a couple of favorites that I always look for when I visit. Even the doormen are cool people. They have resident DJs that play throughout the week and weekends - all are pretty good! The vibe is usually pretty chill. The nights when they are slower are my favorite because they can get pretty packed. Service is usually pretty great. From time to time, they have specials/deals. They offer nice, fairly affordable mid-shelf (or top-shelf) drink options (as well as well-drink options). They also offer hookahs, if you are into that. Please keep in mind that if you have cash on you, you can get the hookah at a discounted rate. They have a decent number of TVs if you are looking to watch any games. As the name suggests, it is a "side" bar, so seating there is limited, but it does make for more than enough on slower days/nights. They have great hours, and you can also order food from Gitto's next door at the bar counter. All in all, it is a good spot to add to bar-hop rotation or to just visit in general.

They did not have a "craft cocktail" menu so it was more of a look at the bar or ask "can you make?" Which is fine just not what I expected. Place was pretty empty and there seemed to be more staff than customers. Two drinks were ordered a spritz (that had no bubbles) and a martini for a total of $30.00. Yes I understand it's downtown but I still felt that was a little steep considering that this was a typical bar experience. The place was sort of dark, the music was pretty loud and there just did not seem to be anything special about the place to me. They seem to be struggling to determine if they are a bar or a restaurant. I did see some reviews that the food was pretty good so maybe I will have to go check out the experience with food and drink.

They only had a food menu and already had some food so was not hungry. There are a lot of screens so if there are some games on it would be a good place to watch some sports - if they offered some drink specials. I opted for a gimlet with gin and they charged be $12 for the drink and then $4 for the gin. That is a little steep for my taste and there was no mention of an "up charge" for a gin instead of vodka. Not my type of place for just a drink, but maybe the food would be different and if they offered some specials.

They had room on the patio but we wanted the air conditioning. The June specials menu looked awesome. The monthly soup is cauliflower. I had the cucumber sandwich (the cool cuke?) and asked for it toasted. Choice of side was chips, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. I had potato salad/ it was good- a little bacon in it and perfectly seasoned. My sando came out toasted but they forgot the cucumbers! Our server brought me out sliced cucumbers so I added them myself. They were a little thick. I did not know but you can ask for pickles and they're free! They dropped off a large jar of pickles. Only two of us wanted them and they toss them if you don't finish them, so I took a few home. I only ate half my sandwich. Ir was super meaty. I recommend it! And the potato salad was a hearty scoop. I can't believe all of that was only $13 plus tax and tip. What a deal. Our food came out all together and didn't take forever. We sat. We ate. We charted. A good time was had! Checks came out promptly. Our group goes to this place often and I was pleasantly surprised that the server remembered some of the gal's usual drink order. Amazing! Great place for lunch! Sandwich was awesome. I will be back.

I'll certainly be back to sit on their airy patio and appreciate the casual, nice service.
