They really go above and beyond to meet your needs. As a freelance paralegal working with a few different attorneys in downtown Miami, things can get really hectic trying to manage so many different schedules - but these people are my superheroes when it comes to making sure we have court reporter coverage when needed - even if it is absolutely last minute. So after some thought about retaliation or whatever, I thought it would be best to just give the MIAMI-DADE FIRE RESCUE in DORAL'S GRAVEYARD SHIFT 1 star that should really be 0 stars and not really go into details but ill say it with this, there are at least 3 guys (possibly 4 or 5) whos work and life and a Fire Rescue employee should be revoked or at least suspended until they complete an Ethics course .....NOT! Ya'll should be permanently fired with no hesitation and unable to work for any other fire department or as a paramedic, there was even private paramedic there who can even serve as a witness for part of it. And yes im only referring to 3-5 specific guys who dealt with me 1 or 2 different nights and not the whole department obviously. Who knows if they were feeding off themselves to treat me the way they did, but they had no reason to, i think they were just sleepy tired and grouchy (it was around 3 or 4 am BUT wtf its their job?!? they were also hating on me like if they knew me but i didnt know ANY of them and i remember faces, believe me, but they acted like they knew all about me, smh. Completely unprofessional and downright scary to be treated that way, not what u would expect from people who are supposed to be saving lives. These guys from that night should never have even become anything close to paramedics or fire rescue and are lucky im not a lawyer or know a good one for that matter. It was the first building he constructed in the northern Everglades which became the development, Country Club Estates. The lodge soon became the hub for social events in the fledgling town. Curtiss used logs brought to Florida from Kentucky and Tennessee for the construction. Interior features of the lodge include a coral rock fireplace, Dade County pine wood flooring that is prized because it is impervious to termites, cathedral exposed log beam ceilings, and multi pane original casement windows. The winding road to the lodge is still called Hunting Lodge Drive. Later on the building was used as a school until 1933 for the quickly expanding town. It also served as a library, a perfume factory, an airplane factory, and as the headquarters for the Miami Gun and Archery Club. This property was registered with the City of Miami Springs Historic Preservation Board in 1994. The lodge was last sold in January of 2018 for $315,000.

The U.S. Coast Guard Hanger is one of eight historical markers installed by the City of Miami Public Works in 2015. Joyce E. Nelson, president of the Coconut Grove Civic Club was inspired to get the markers installed after seeing a similar program during a trip to Charleston. What is unique and really nice about the Coconut Grove markers is that they include historic photos. During World War I and II Coconut Grove was a US naval base. In 1932 this seaplane hangar became a part of the first permanent United States Coast Guard Air Station in the country. Planes from the Dinner Key Coast Guard rescued people from the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. During World War II, planes flew missions to spot U Boats off the coast and rescued sailors on ships targeted by the Nazi Navy. In the 1960's, the Coast Guard rescued Cuban migrants during mass immigration. This US Coast Guard hangar site was the busiest Coast Guard station in the country until operations were moved to Opa-locka Airport in 1965. In 1972 the hangar was turned into a gymnasium used for boxing and sailing programs. It was named in honor of local activist Elizabeth Virrick. The historic Coast Guard hangar suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Andrew in 1992. During World War II, aviators provided anti-submarine patrol and convoy support. In addition to aiding in the protection of the nation's coasts, aviators conducted rescue missions to help sailors from merchant ships targeted by the Nazi Kriegsmarine. The Dinner Key Coast Guard maintained an active presence in the community after the war and played an important part in search-and-rescue missions during the mass Cuban immigration rescue in the 1960s. By 1965, when the Coast Guard air station unit moved its operations from Dinner Key to the Opa-locka Airport, the station had evolved into the busiest air-sea rescue facility in the world.
