I recently moved to Plano and have been researching fun activities to participate in. Running in 90+ degree temps with humidity will tire a girl out! Something needs to be indoors. Enter, an incredible pastry class. I'm no rookie when it comes to culinary classes. I love them! I love cooking and baking and always learn something new from a class. It's something I throughly enjoy. This experience was 5 STARS! Everyone was so warm, friendly, inclusive and kind. We really had the absolute best time. I've been trying to feel a sense of community after relocating and the other students, as one told me are "my people". My week days have been spent in an altogether different environment that regardless of if it's cultural has brought me down in a real way. I was looking for an afternoon of joie. The class was so inviting, hands on and fun! We made a bunch of items, shared snacks and our creations together. On break another student in class gave me a tour of Central Market since I'd never been to one. Grabbing coffee, exchanging business cards with others, bookmarking a ton of new spots to try and learning about other fun activities was truly worth every dollar spent to join this 4hr class. It felt exactly like what I had imagined moving to Texas with Texans would feel like. It attracted the finest residents. I can't wait to return. They have an all star line up of classes and August is hatch chili month. I will surely be signing up for at least one class a month. The florals are also totally worth mentioning, the store and class is adorned in the most incredible arrangements. It really was such a lovely class. Now if I can find someone to teach me Mahjong! The store is also gorgeous! I'm definitely at the age where I couldn't care less about local bars, show me a stunning grocery store! Coming from Los Angeles, dare I say it... Central Market might be better than Erewhon.

Rolled, cut, and filled our pasta. Then enjoyed a feast of our own making. Perfection (maybe not perfect but definitely beautiful and incredibly tasty). Recipes were provided and easy to follow. I will do these at home. And a surprise: Italian creme cupcake for my birthday celebration. Truly a great night. Totally worth it for a family celebration.

I contacted Veena to see if I could arrange a private cooking class for my Mom as a Mother's day…read moregift. I asked whether she could accommodate me (a vegetarian) and my mom (passionate meat eater) and Veena said absolutely. I sent Veena a handful of my Mom's favorite recipes (including a more obscure and apparently heavily British dish called Lamb Pasanda) and she created a meal plan that included everything and more. We showed up and Veena greeted us warmly. Her kind energy and passion for her food and culture were clear. She never made us feel like we were asking silly questions and kept the experience light and fun. She was basically willing to go into as much detail or as little detail as we wanted. It was a very affordable class considering it was a 3 hour long private sessions for the two of us. We even went home with tons of leftovers, a spice kit (black cardamom smells amazing), and recipes for our dishes! Veena took pictures of our experience and offered her help for any future cooking questions we had. She said she could always offer a suggestion for a substitution (ex. if we needed a dairy free version) or questions on grocery stores to find certain ingredients. Thank you Veena!!! Quick summary PROS: very adaptable, super warm and kind energy, affordable, fun, not intimidating, yummy food. CONS: scheduling was a little difficult because there was no calendar or online service to use. It was through email so we did have some communication mishaps initially--no big deal really.

Veena was a wonderful teacher! We drove to her industrial kitchen in San Mateo on a Saturday. She offered us some delicious tamarind rice and tea and then we began the lesson. She was very patient with us and offered lots of helpful tips. The food we made was delicious, and I am hoping I can bring my sons along for our next lesson.

His ability to engage our large and diverse group while making it a fun and memorable experience for all was extremely impressive. Even people who normally roll their eyes at these sorts of activities were participating and having a great time. It didn't matter if you were an experienced chef, a novice, a senior leader, or a newbie on the team....everyone loved it! His location was a bit out-of-the-way for our company and took us about a half hour to drive to (which is not a distance we normally travel for dinners/activities). On the way there, some people were complaining about how far away it was, but THE MOMENT chef tre started talking with everyone there was zero additional mention of the drive (and it wasn't mentioned again a single time after the fact). Thank you chef Tre and team for an amazing night!

Two stayed out to be judges. Each group was provided a mystery box of chicken thighs, and mahi-mahi for protein. We also had broccoli, orange, marmalade, rosemary, and black beans. We all had fun, laughing along with Tre. He is hilarious! The meal he and the other chefs prepared for us, was also delicious. Free-flowing, fun and laughter! Would definitely recommend this venue for other team building events.

I came for the sushi-making class, and overall, it was a really good time. The setup was smooth, the atmosphere was lively, and the whole experience felt more like a social night out with a little culinary cosplay which honestly, has its place. They also offered wine and sake pairings, and you can BYOB, which definitely helps keep the vibe festive. That said... if you're hoping to leave with the confidence to open your own omakase counter in a strip mall, this is not that. A lot of the components were pre-made or prepped ahead of time, and there wasn't a ton of actual teaching around technique, ingredients, or the food itself. So while you do "make sushi," it's less MasterClass and more cute, hands-on dinner activity. But honestly? That's not necessarily a bad thing. Not every class needs to end with a knife skills certification and a spiritual relationship with sushi rice. Bottom line: Come here if you want a fun, low-pressure experience for a date night, girls' night, or team outing. Just set expectations correctly: this is more about the experience than becoming the next IronChef.
