Wanted go purchase a certified vehicle from this dealership. Went on-line and went through the process of finding out what the bottom line would be. Apparently they only offer Kelly Blue Book prices on trade-ins. So, they low-balled an offer that I got from another dealer. Then, I realized they were charging me almost $800 to do paperwork. I understand that businesses have overhead, but I'd gladly do all the paperwork myself and it certainly wouldn't be worth that much. Got a call from the dealership and told them all of this. Didn't like the offer for my trade-in and how I thought $800 was too steep. I was told that every one of their dealerships charges this price. I told the guy I would buy the car if I got a better deal on my trade-in and if they waived the $800. He was adamant. He said even he has to pay that if he buys a car from any of their Flow dealerships. Bottom line: I offered to buy a $50k vehicle today if they would remove an $800 charge. NO! To Whom It May Concern, Did you know you are selling your used car customers a False Sense of Security Insurance with Flows Extend Power Train Warranty (12mths / 12,000 miles)? On March 1, 2024, we purchase a used 2014 Volkswagen Passat with 107,193 miles from Flow Auto. Since it was purchased, we have replaced: * 110,450 miles - the water pump and timing belt. Flow Auto recommend this be replaced at 97k miles. * 110,984 miles - Battery. * 111,828 miles - Replace the Turbo. This should have been covered by the extended warranty. * 111,828 miles - Oil pump. Now a little over 112k miles the engine needs to be replaced due to coolant leaking into the engine and your insurance provider, Assurant, is denying the claim saying the cause of the damage was negligent. That the "engine was over heated and distort the cylinders." Flow Auto sold this car in 2020 as "Certified Pre-Owned" and Flow Auto performed all the maintenance until it was traded 2024. Therefore, Flow Auto has a good working knowledge of this vehicle and knows that on 10/5/23 (100,672 miles) the vehicle was being diagnosed for coolant leak. Per phone call with Matt (Service Manager @ Flow Auto Burlington) "The coolant leak was detected behind the crank pulley and recommended replacing the water pump and timing belt. Like spam emails? GREAT! Then go here and you'll have a lifetime of them! If you ever buy a vehicle here you will be treated well BUT....you will end up getting spammed twice a month FOREVER. They will try to pass you to the corporate office to see if they can remove your email, but that won't work. You'll have to try multiple times and even then you'll still get spammed because they don't know where it's coming from. I'm contacting the Federal Trade Commission next. read more

My experience was with their online BMW parts sales department. The overall results of my dealings with Flow were decidedly mixed. A few individuals (such as "Angel") were super friendly, immensely helpful, and much appreciated. Experiences with other employees ranged from simply "unhelpful" to rude and even incompetent. My order took well over 8 weeks to fill. At first one of the four parts was on backorder, but there were very few updates unless I called or emailed them. Later, I found out the parts were in stock, but no one told me. They weren't going to ship these parts because my credit card info was declined - and apparently they told me that this was the case. The email that the employee forwarded as evidence of this communication didn't mention the credit card and actually said that the parts were on back-order. Needless to say, this consumed nearly 4 weeks of inactivity with no communication unless I initiated it. In the end, there was no problem with my credit card and Angel finally went out of his way after hours to get it sorted. My parts were fine, the website worked fine, but it took way too long and the communication was inexcusably poor. If this is how they run the rest of the dealership, I would not feel comfortable shopping here or recommending it to a friend. read more

I have a used BMW X5, now out of warranty, but I take it to be serviced at BMW dealership at a premium so I have some confidence in the service. I had oil changed two months ago. Took car in for a registration inspection at another place and heard hollering from the bay when they popped the hood. I was then told that the oil cap had been left off at the last oil change. This is a big deal. I drove it two months without a seal to the crank case. There was clear evidence of where oil had spilled around the intake and the hood. I replaced the cap and drove straight over to Flow where they took the car back and returned to tell me everything looked good. I told them no, it's not good, the oil has been exposed and filters and oil need changed at a minimum and I wouldn't be paying for it. They pushed back on me but eventually did it once I got serious, threatened to report to corporate, and asked to talk to service manager (with whom I never was allowed to speak). So basically, flow bmw service can't meet minimum standards (replacing an oil cap) and refused to make it right. Done with these guys. read more

I was looking for a certain model hybrid car and Flow had what I was looking for. I drove from Charlotte, about 1 1/2 hrs. away, to do a test drive. Jim the sales general manager greeted me when I arrived and introduced me to Larry Harris who was the salesperson who helped me. I would recommend him if you are at the dealership. In the big picture it was a smooth process and about as seamless as possible. A day later I drove my trade to the dealership and completed the paperwork. A couple of days later I had a question about the license plates and my inquiry was answered promptly. Larry has followed up twice in the past couple of weeks to make sure I was satisfiled with everything. I was passing thru Winston-Salem looking for a Tesla super charging station. Realizing there wasn't one, my GPS took me to Flow BMW. I was met by a nice young man, "Eric D"., within 2 minutes of pulling into one of their two Charge Point stations on their lot; he offered to hook the car up (a nice surprise!). My charge was very low and so was my phone battery. I didn't have a Charge Point card, but Eric led me to a very nice lady at the Flow BMW sales desk, "Bonnie," who offered to loan me hers without hesitation.(Already I'm thinking these folks are cool...) Bad planning on my part; how could I leave home without my phone charger? Luckily, I at least had my CAR charging adapter, but it was still going to take longer than I'd expected to charge my vehicle. Eric had a better idea and led me into the Service Dept. where they had a wall charger for their own customers, which proved to be a little faster. (Remember, I'm not driving a BMW, I'm in a Tesla.) While I was waiting, I met all the Service Advisors. Being a woman myself, and in a new environment, I first approached "Nikki": a charming and welcoming young woman who was happy to accommodate my need for assistance. "Jason" who was every bit as pleasant, asked if I'd like a hot cup of fresh coffee (it was cold outside, but nice and warm in the Service Dept.) -- or donuts. The waiting area is in-between the Service Dept. and the Sales Show Room. I decided to get out of their way and made my way to a comfortable chair. Here I was offered a bottled water (which I happily accepted)! Straight in front of where I sat down was probably the most gorgeous white BMW 8 series 2dr coupe I have ever seen. Now don't get me wrong, I like my 2013 white Tesla--but WOW! This 2021 sport model BMW was HOT! Of course I had to take a stroll or two around it, as well as all the other beautiful BMWs in the show room. By this time everyone probably knew I was the stranded Tesla owner (or so I assumed), but I was pleasantly surprised not to be hounded by an over-eager Sales Associate. Everyone kindly acknowledged my presence, but gave me space to enjoy the scenery. Though when I did have questions about the drop-dead gorgeous 8 series, they were happy to provide the answers. What a GREAT place to be "stranded." :D I couldn't help marinating on what a wonderful customer service experience I was having...especially since I wasn't even a customer! Back in the Service Dept., Service Advisor Corey (aka "Potts") offered to lend me his phone charger from his own car, so I would have enough battery to get home to Greensboro. Michael and Kenny, two other Service Advisors, couldn't have been nicer. Michael even showed me some cool stuff online about my Tesla and some similarities with the new BMWs. He appeared to be very tech-saavy and luxury brand saavy, and we had an enthusiastic conversation. On a few occasions Nikki noticed that my car would stop charging (the lights stopped blinking). Thanks Nikki!! Had she not made that observation, they may have been stuck with me til closing time. At one point an actual BMW Service Technician came out and took a look. (Who does that!?) :D We all agreed that it appeared to be my adaptor. I can honestly say I have never been to an auto dealership where the entire Service Department staff was so eager to please, so accommodating and just so darn NICE. *And I have owned 11 vehicles.* I'd like to give a big shout out to their Service Manager Josh Kineard--probably the only person I didn't meet yesterday. He must be a great person to work for, as he has a full staff of incredibly professional, nice, happy, helpful and empathetic Customer Service employees! I may own a Tesla now, but when it's time to consider trading, I will most definitely consider Winston-Salem's Flow BMW. The most important thing when owning a car (to me) is the service you experience while owning it. Bought my Audi at this dealership 8 years ago. Had them check the sunroof for rattling noise several years ago- they couldn't figure out what it was. It has gotten so bad- took it in and paid $213 for them only to tell me I need to replace the whole sunroof frame for $1900 due to the rubber from the glass rubbing on the frame (extremely hard to believe there is no other easier fix but this is what they do), proceeded to tell me needed all new brakes, pads, rotors and sensors (said front brakes were 2mm and rear 3mm) which would be $2100, new drive belt $231 and CV joint $1324- close to 6k total. They lubricated the sunroof which has temporary stopped the rattling. I took it somewhere else and had them check brakes, belts etc. was told the front brakes had 3mm and rear 5mm and only the front pads needed to be replaced (actually could wait a little if wanted) and it would cost $230 TOTAL. All belts etc were fine. Total BS Audi!!! I was actually looking at buying another Audi while there because my daughter is getting her license in a few months- forget it. Won't be giving them any of my money ever again. Or Flow for that matter. Really thought the sunroof could be adjusted to fix the noise- how wasteful for them to suggest installing a whole new frame- waste of money and waste of materials for something not needed and then throwing a perfectly fine frame in the landfill. Pretty upset and disappointed that this is how they conduct business. Don't know who actually pays a dealership to do auto work anymore these days. Such a racket. I basically paid them $213 to try and screw me over. read more

We purchased a 2 series BMW from Flow over Labor Day weekend. Since we are out of state, Flow required us to pay a nonnegotiable $800 fee for both title and registration. It is now 11/17 and we have yet to get our permanent license plate. As an active duty military family, my husband's license is in the state of Pennsylvania and we are stationed in New Jersey. We have gone through Penn Dot for numerous other license/registration issues and they have always been helpful. The agency in which Flow has chosen to use, changed my husband's car registration and address "to make easier for them". Unknowing to him and had he been pulled over before we discovered this, he could have been in a serious amount of trouble. After purchasing the vehicle, Flow hasn't been responsive to helping us resolve the issue. We have gone through almost 3 sets of temporary plates. Flow continues to send us information to the wrong address in PA, despite us continuously giving our New Jersey home address and having the car shipped to our house. At the very least, Flow should refund us the $800 to register our vehicle. We would have had the car registered over 2 months ago. Now we are stuck correcting the errors, they've caused including creating a new drivers license for my husband. We are both extremely disappointed in the entire process and hope it's not a reflection on the company of BMW. read more

I have ordered parts on their website. From having problems not getting confirmation of my order to getting bogus answers about why my order is taking so long to ship. No consistency. Their third party shipping calculator is miscalculating shipping. They don't care because they don't pay for it you the customer pay for it and get ripped off. Their system flags transactions for so called fraud but they don't tell you until your order is cancelled. That's what causing delays. Their ignorance. She kept talking over me & my son, I guess this dealership has so many customers they don't need anymore business. It's ok I left and went straight to Hendrick BMW where I was treated the way a customer should be treated. I also got the part I needed without the attitude and mouth. girlfriend tried to turn a lease in on a 330i with 28k miles on. the jackals tried to say it needed new rotors. the car doesn't even have enough miles on it for a brake pad change, let alone for their to be damage to the rotors. they also got her in the door saying that she would probably be paid out for the lease. ended up getting a quote of 6k to turn the car in. extremely predatory, save yourself the heart ache and buy or lease a Lexus. read more

I had a warm greeting when I arrived and was paired with one of the client advisors, Nick T. Nick was professional and courteous and I could tell he was enthusiastic about making sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed and I never felt like I was being pushed into anything. The test drive and the purchase was seamless and I left with my new (used) car! I made the 5 hour round trip to buy this car because I specifically liked the warranties they offer and (of course everyone's primary concern) getting a clean well maintained vehicle for the best price I could find in a several hour radius of Asheville. On my way home noticed it was not. Called back to speak to my advisor Garret who promised me a call back before the end of the day - never happened. Called yesterday to speak to the service manager - he is on vacation so asked to speak to another manager - the operator said that they would call me. After waiting until ~6pm with out a call - called back to speak to the GM. Was told that they would be giving me a call - sill no call. They obviously do not care to speak to me. I would expect this from a non luxury brand dealership but it is BMW i would expect more. Not a good look read more

Sooo disappointed by my experience with Flow. We found a car online and had several phone conversations with our sales rep before taking the 1.5 hr drive to Winston. He assured me the car was in mint condition. Of course, you're always a little weary. Once there, we found the car needed some touching up in about a dozen different places and that they were a fixed price shop?? I have never seen a b'mer dealership that wouldn't negotiate on a used car that has sat on their lot for 3 months! I know this because I'd seen it on their site that long and he verified as much. As and update to my previous review, I want to let you all know that Flow BMW stepped up, took 100% responsibility for the situation and worked diligently to find a resolution. My Product Genius, Tye Johnson, showed extraordinary optimism, customer service, and patience. The General Manager, Jason Keranen, appeared to me almost as upset over the situation as was. Within 2 1/2 weeks of finding out about the situation, he was able to clear the title (due to a paperwork error at the DMV), and provided a gesture of goodwill as Flow's apology. The situation itself was truly regrettable, and one which has been a learning experience for everyone involved. I'm pleased with Flow BMW and their response to an unusually unique situation. I visited Flow BMW to view cars on my list, i ended up buying a car and loving Flow BMW. Sara and Shawn were so detailed and professional. They were not pushy and helped me to find something in my price bracket. I was able to find a good deal, got rid of some negative equity and the outcome saved me almost $200 from the previous payments. As well, the entire team entertained my kids, while answering questions, got fancy coffee and hot chocolate. My kids felt at home and did not complain once. I would recommend them to everyone. I purchased a used car with you all through the CAREs project here in Winston-Salem, NC in March 2022.  I didn't actually get the car until in April.  When I got the car in the early part of April I turned around in the later part of April and contacted the salesperson about some things I had noticed. In May I had the transmission and some kind of axle replaced by your dealership.  They made it seem like they were doing me a favor by covering the replacement of the transmission, but I had to pay for the axles.  Today I find out that the transmission was or should have been covered by my warranty from a mechanic not related to your business.  That same mechanic also quoted me a minimal $1,500 worth of work that needs to be done on my car. Once that is done there is potentially MORE work that needs to be done totaling about $3,200.  When your mechanic became aware of my issue he suggested that I take my car to another mechanics that wouldn't charge me as much.  He also said that my son and I would be SAFE to travel in the vehicle.  The salesman who SWORE that he would do better by me than the previous dealership that didn't fix my car and after paying more than $2,500 I found out that my transmission also needed to be replaced LIED to me!  When his "pull" at the dealership became thin, I got the short end of the stick.  There is no way that this car was PROPERLY inspected before it was sold to me!  What kind of "certified pre-owned" vehicles are you selling? I have had it for approximately 7 months and your dealership has been aware of EVERY problem that I have had and have chosen to do the BARE minimum!  I paid $823 as a down payment on this car. I had to pay OVER $500 when they did the axles in May.  As a single mother who had already paid over $2,500 in the months prior to attempt to get a different vehicle fixed I have NOTHING left! I am disgusted and disappointed at the treatment that I have received and the LIES that I have clearly been told!  I tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt and I have been deeply disappointed! If I could give zero stars I would. Bought a car from their loaner fleet (only owned by Flow prior to selling to me) and they were administratively incompetent and nickeled and dimed me. Falsely represented "all in, out the door cost" so I ended up paying more for registration. Then within six months when I brought the car to my local dealer in Durham for an oil change and service I learned they failed to transfer the appropriate paper work which cost me extra to get the car warrantees and maintenance plan under my name despite being "included" in my purchase. Again, falsely representing that my car was fully under warranty. Don't trust them. Terrible dealer. Terrible communication. Unethical. read more
