I called Flower Bowl today to inquire about a floral style that has become popular online, often referred to as "farm girl flowers." I understand that not every florist may be familiar with that term, and I would have been perfectly happy to explain what I meant. What disappointed me was the customer service I received. Instead of professionally asking for clarification, the employee seemed to mock my question and made me feel uncomfortable for simply asking about a flower style. She kept asking if I went on their website to check out their flowers. When I told her I did and didn't see the style I wanted. She automatically turned me away saying "okay, I don't know what you're talking about, this is flower bowl not farm girl flowers!." I can sense frustration, and attitude. Which led me ending our conversation. The conversation felt dismissive and unprofessional from the start. The interaction ended with her saying, "Okay, you weirdo, my dear," while laughing before hanging up. Whether it was intended as a joke or not, I found it inappropriate and unprofessional to speak to a potential customer that way. As someone who was genuinely interested in placing an order, I expected a polite explanation or follow-up questions about the style I was looking for. Instead, I was left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. Customer service should make customers feel comfortable asking questions, not mocked for them. A friend's passing promoted my search for a place to order a flower arrangement for the memorial service held in Lafayette. A search on Yelp led me here. As I checked with friends about joining me, I decided to call them to get more information and place an order. Calling on a Monday later afternoon, I learned they were closed and called again Tuesday. The lady sounded busy so I kept the conversation brief in getting her advice in going online. I did this and after reading and navigating I placed my order. Pretty disappointed in what was ordered, vs. received. I intentionally selected the "Sweet Blush" bouquet which had an image of pink & light pink flowers - I went with the Premium version and when my team member received her flowers - it looked like a completely different bouquet. I know on their site it states: "PLEASE NOTE: Flower stems and colors will vary due to availability. Designer's Choice will contain seasonal flowers! " so I was expecting a variation, but this is nowhere close. I personally would not have paid $124 for what was delivered, and could have made a similar bouquet with flowers from Trader Joes. For future customers, I suggest you confirm what will be included as their website is incredibly misleading. read more

The store itself is petite but packed with tasteful items. They are bustling yet friendly. I love that they offer help to the teenagers ordering their corsages for their prom dresses. A designer offered them choices and shades of color to match the ribbons of the corsage to the accent their dresses. An offer to send over a better arrangement would have sufficed. Compare what I got with all the beautiful arrangements you see on Yelp postings and on their website. I paid much more than their average price. Their cheapest arrangements, which cost almost half as much, looks better than mine. Clearly, I got an inferior product that the owner fails to correct. Over the years it has been my pleasure to give praise to Flower Bowl Florist. Something has changed. Is it under new ownership? This was my second unsatisfactory delivery. I did not respond to the first. After so many years it can happen, but yesterday was so sad I had to respond. When I arrived home at about 5:00 I found a flower delivery leaning against my front door. It was a very large bouquet in a small 4X4 inch vase. The arrangement had tipped over and had no water at all. I brought it in, put it in a 6X6 inch vase and gave it water. I called Flower Bowl and spoke with Carmen. The arrangement did not provide any floral refresher and I wanted to know what might help revive my arrangement. Carmen explained that this was a busy time, understood, and she didn't have time to talk to me. I suggested she could text back when she did. She gave me her text info and I completed the text. No response from Carmen 24 hrs later. The arrangement would have been lovely, but it is short lived now. I am going to send my East Coast famiiy information on Countrywood Florist and tell them to contact direct next time. read more
