Between this, the new aquarium shop and the new spin cycling studio, there are lots of pastimes to take up! I came here to buy a gift for my wife's birthday and they helped me find a beautiful plant and supplied a pot too. Prices were reasonable and they have a fantastic selection not only of plants but other giftable items (including some beautiful books, coffee and home decor). They also have an outdoor section, with more plants, as well as an upstairs! This was better than going to your Home Depot style nursery, particularly for unique indoor plants, and the personal service made all the difference.

Some are dressed up in hats, sunnies, clothes some may have gotten from vendors at the event. Each month, the selection of vendors do change -- you might see the same ones always coming back while others might not return or be back other months. It's helpful if you maybe have a cart with you -- only if you're the type of person who plans to find a lot or larger items. The vendors for the most part are placed in sections based on what they're selling. There is a food court where there are food trucks and booths selling drinks and snacks. Picnic tables, live music, entertainment for kids -- outdoor games like chess, bean bag toss, connect four, jenga, legos, hula hoops, etc.

I was worried about the parking/traffic situation because the last time I went to the Alameda Antique Fair I almost lost it. Luckily, this is a well oiled machine with folks directing traffic. I arrived at 11 on a Sunday and left at 2:30. The organizers do a great job creating an event that is organized and flows. The vendors were great, tons of food trucks, interactive "survivor- inspired" games for the whole family, DJ with bubble machine, live art, a stage in the middle of the food truck area with live music, and bars and bathrooms throughout. The only complaint I have is the vendor that sells pictures with birds for "charity." First, what charity? Second, why are you out here yelling at people that are considering promoting your business? Not sure why anyone would want some weird dudes putting birds of prey on people let alone pay for it. I watched one of them have a heated exchange with a dog owner who was walking her dog past the booth. So weird. I would absolutely return to and applaud the organizers for such a well planned and executed event.

I couldn't resist picking one up, especially since they were only $4.99. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous at first though because there wasn't a single word of Japanese anywhere on the box!! But hey, I decided to take my chances anyway. It actually turned out to be pretty good! I ended up getting the Stone Hashira. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But the quality was way better than I expected for the price. I definitely want to go back soon to grab a few more of these blind boxes. I really hope they continue bringing in stuff like this!

Remember to bring own bag to save 10 cents. Buys: River snail soup (2.99) Liuzhou Luosi Rice Noodle -elaborate process, need to cook noodles twice. Waiting to try. -eatery version probably $15-$20 Thai Hot & Sour Noodles (1.49) -to be tried. Thai Seafood noodles (1.49) -rice noodles boil like ramen, drain. Add spicy oil, dried veggies, add sauce & mix all. -Ingredients: garlic, soy sauce, dried seafood, peanuts, dried milk, artificial flavorings -had nuanced flavas of cheese, peanut butter, garlic, chiliness, saltiness. *didn't have noticeable chemical additives. 4ish stars. This is a hidden gem! We stumbled upon it on google and went to explore the farm to possibly pick…read moreapples. When we got there we learnt apple picking was not happening anymore but they have a huge property with alot of vegetables, a walking and tasting tour and a horse!!! First we met Ben, the magical horse who made our day! We got to brush his hair , feed him and just hang out with him. What a unique experience! Note- They host birthday parties there so the horse can play with the kids. Next we met the main farmer who took us on a walking tour of everything they grow. We tried the most unique flowers, herbs, leaves, etc. most memorable were the chocolate mint, fennel, quinine, edible flowers that taste like cucumber. We tasted alot more including their honey which was great! The farmer was funny, engaging and so knowledgeable too! They sell plants and dried herbs and honey along with veggies and other things. We bought a few things and some plants and had a great chat with the kind farm owner. She is just amazing and knew everything about everything on the farm! Highly recommend! Note- They have parking on site and carry cash to buy things!

So just like vegetation in your home garden what's ready and available vary! And nature controls things too, so it's ridiculous to expect they are fully stocked for specific items at all time! Be kind and reasonable! Anyway, we came here late summer last year for the first time and I definitely loved it! Everyone we met who worked there was very informative and friendly! We especially love their honey! Their bees work hard and it paid off! Definitely great especially to fend off allergy (especially if you're local!). The sweet therapy Horse, Ben is adorable, though be careful with his teeth, he is a sweet animal. There is also a cute small dog that sometimes roam around belongs to the sweet lady who works there. On my 2nd visit, I learned that "flowers" can taste like cucumber! No joke! It was fascinating and also rhubarb stalk taste delicious raw, dipped in a bit of honey. We love this little local farm and will definitely come back. A great place to bring kids and teach them to appreciate fresh fruits and veggies directly from the source.
