She is my favorite florist on La Venta Inn's preferred vendor list - but can also guarantee she is familiar with many other venues as well. She is professional, reasonably priced, and just a dream to work with! The florals are always stunning, healthy, lush, and of high-quality. They last the entire day and long after the wedding. She has gone above and beyond in the past to help solve last-minute problems because she understands the business and wedding industry (and customer service!) in a way that many vendors do not! The ability to work as a team with other vendors is a crucial part of being successful in this industry, along with going the extra mile for clients - and Casey does both! I had a time sensitive need as a family member was undergoing surgery and I wanted to be sure an arrangement was present upon their return. I wanted something cheerful and bright. I began shopping around but it was a Sunday and my time was diminishing the more I searched the area for a reputable florist. I read reviews but really wished for a personal interaction instead of just ordering on a whim via a website. Mind you I am in the north east so I gave the # a call like I did so many others in the area who didn't answer or follow up.... and while I did not receive a person on the call the coolest thing happened. I received a text message in return stating "Driving or hands full of flowers. Text me and I'll be back to you ASAP.- Casey". I thought this was such a nice touch that I then thought I'd pursue texting where I was concise on the details of my needs. It wasn't but 6 minutes later that I received a personal follow up letting me know that they were serving an event but assured they would return my call shortly. All in all the call was unnecessary as everything was handled via text from then on, including recommendations about the facility I requested delivery to. Just wanted to leave a note of gratitude here as I couldn't be more impressed or satisfied with the entire process. From the attentiveness of the interaction, to the recommendations, the flexibility of payment methods and ultimately the delivery (which by the way was next day) along with a personal follow up. We hired Flower Duet to do the flowers for our wedding and it was truly one of the best decisions we made for our special day. First of all, Casey is unbelievably talented and made every detail of our wedding absolutely stunning. When my wife and I first met with her, neither of us had particularly clear ideas about what we wanted, but as we talked about what we envisioned the event to feel like, she put together a sample arrangement in front of us I think we were both speechless. Her floral designs ended up being one of our favorite details of the wedding and have made our memories (and photos) of the day really, really beautiful--from the floral details on my tux, to the arch behind our ceremony, to the special bouquets made in memory of our moms. I'm not usually one to write negative reviews, but I was really disappointed in the poor communication of this flower shop. I had emailed the shop, asking about availability for our wedding day. They stated they were available and sent this form for me to fill out. I spent time filling it out thinking that this would be the shop that we go with. After not getting a response back for a few weeks about the form I had completed, I emailed them to follow up. The shop owner had responded saying she would take a look at the form and follow up with me shortly. It never happened and I never heard back, so I eventually had to go with a different florist. I texted Casey last minute for flowers for a memorial service the following day, She asked all the needed questions, who what where etc. In the busy-ness of the holidays, the next morning I had completely forgotten about the service (it was for a friend of my mother in law, and I was doing my MIL a favor by ordering). I met Casey at her studio in Torrance and instantly felt like I could trust her. She listened to all of my mom and my ideas (even if we contradicted ourselves) and absorbed the big picture of what I wanted my wedding day to look like. She then provided her input and so many creative options I had never even considered. On a visit closer to our wedding date (we are from Texas and our wedding was in California), Casey provided a mock-up of my centerpieces so I knew exactly what to expect. My flowers turned out BEAUTIFUL and I could not have asked for a better vendor partner. What I appreciated most was her ability to tailor to our needs. We were on a tight budget so she made her best effort to recycle everything we had. In other words, once our ceremony was finished, she moved all flower decor and incorporated it into the cocktail hour/reception. Everything was used to its fullest. Even my bridesmaid's bouquets were put into small vases to display at the head table instead of additional costly center pieces. She also incorporated items we provided her. We had long strands of crystal we didn't know what to do with and she added it as a focal point of our altar at the ceremony. After the ceremony, she placed the crystal on cocktail tables for some extra sparkle. It's just SO nice to have full trust in your wedding vendors. There were a few that I worried about, but I can honestly say that Casey was not one of those people. She was the easiest to work with and delivered the perfect product. I went to Flower Duet because my daughter's wedding was coming up. She had asked me to do all her wedding flowers because I do the flowers for church. I knew I needed special classes, so I began to search for flower arranging classes, and I'm very, very glad I found Flower Duet. My communications, and later, my class was with Casey. She was warm and friendly and very professional. She's an excellent teacher. Excellent. During my search, I'd been to one company where I was told directly that there was no way I could do wedding flowers just because I'd done a little flower arranging in church. Not so, Casey. She was very encouraging, and she gave me lots of tips on how to achieve really great results. Even after my class, Casey went the extra mile. I left the class with teaching videos of her, and a shopping list for my flower arrangements. Casey kindly helped me source the items I couldn't get, and she actually gave me those items that were sold in very large quantities when I needed only a very little. The cherry on top? The wedding was out of town, and Casey helped me connect with a specialist in the Flower Market out there so I could pre-order my flowers!! That saved me a whole lot of trouble - I just walked in, paid, picked up my flowers and went ahead with creating very lovely arrangements. I received very many compliments for the wedding flowers, and my daughter and new son were very very grateful to me. As I write this review, I am reading a review from E S. on my sidebar... I hate to give an establishment less than 4-stars, just because I know how much Yelp provides customers to their business; however, I was not completely satisfied with my day of wedding flowers. So, as an honest reviewer helping those who are planning a high-cost, once in a lifetime, wedding, I would not recommend Flower Duet. You do get what you pay for and if I was to choose again, I would have went with the pricier florist... But, we were on a budget and we were looking for specific flowers that would cater to 180 guests. Fault that I take. Flower Duet has many different services. As I read other reviews on my sidebar, it seems like they are great for a flower arrangement class and smaller events. For my wedding the following items were not accurate on the day of: -My bouquet was not as I had specified in meetings with no greenery and wrapped in satin ribbon all the way down to the bottom with pearl pins at the bottom. -My Bridesmaids bouquets were larger than mine... *I made the mistake of having them add to my bouquet and it was way too large and heavy. I should have just had them take away from the BM bouquets, but in my haste I regret that decision. The flowers cover my dress in pictures. Now, once I get my pictures back from my photographer there may be other issues that I didn't notice and there may be things that I really liked that Flower Duet did; however, today those two items are what I am really thinking back on. Mostly, because I have gotten a few pictures back from my photographer and I am not happy with how my bouquet turned out. That bouquet was supposed to be a memento and it is going to be in a lotttt of pictures... Overall, really nice people. So Casey from Flower Duet was an absolute angel. I booked her after finding Flower Duet online for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. She was so flexible when arranging up our initial consultation with my boyfriend and I, and walked us through the planning painlessly. She worked within our budget and gave us ideas as to how to reduce the cost. Casey showed up early to the event, and created the most wonderful arch and I was amazed she was able to create it within our budget because it was so lush. The centerpieces were perfect, and the bouquet and boutonniere for my parents were spectacular. She even provided an extra boutonniere for my dad in case his got smushed from all the hugging. After months of research trying to find a wedding florist, I had decided to try and do it on my own because everything was out of my budget and no one seemed to want to work with me. I started looking into taking a floral arrangement class or two so the flowers didn't look like a complete disaster...that's when I found Flower Duet. I emailed her my situation and she asked what my budget was. She was more than willing to work with me. We were able to save some money by doing a bouquet session with my girls where we made all of our own bouquets. These ended up doubling as centerpieces. Casey was there the entire time supervising us. It was such a fun experience with my bridesmaids! I can be pretty particular but everything turned out great!! They keep such a gentle control over the class that at first I thought they had to have been teachers before going into the flower business, but I was wrong.
