The remodel included removal of a kitchen/dining room wall to provide an open concept, and the removal of a central double-sided fireplace to open the living room area. A new fireplace was installed, dated soffits were removed, ceilings were modified, skylights added and both bathrooms were completely gutted and remodeled. During the entire process Andrina demonstrated exceptional professionalism. She kept the project moving and more importantly, us on track and on budget by working with us to make literally over a hundred decisions ranging from material selections (paint, stain, stone, tile, glass, etc.), to hardware selection. Andrina's research, planning and schedule management facilitated the entire project. Throughout the process she helped us to visualize the finished product with the use of sketches and renderings. I can't imagine the average homeowner taking on this level of responsibility themselves. Andrina possessed the ability to listen to our ideas and then skillfully guided us to a design we absolutely love. We quickly learned to trust her recommendations, and quickly established a wonderful partnership. When construction was nearing completion, we finalized the selection of the furnishings, which made the move in process very exciting. The finished product was more awesome than we could have ever imagined. I would highly recommend AndrinaPaladin Designs to anyone who is looking for a professional, competent, creative and highly organized interior designer. Bob & Michelle Laguna Niguel

I have hired 1st Stage for multiple properties over the years. In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.

She never pressured me while I was still considering whether to get an interior designer or not, and she was very upfront about her costs and services. She made the whole process really comfortable. When Ammie came to see the space, she had an eye for making the house a home. She immediately knew to recommend adding a kitchen island. This was something I was actually going back and forth on for a really long time, and I had so many people telling me not to do it and how it would look weird or there wouldn't be enough space in the kitchen, etc. After renovations, I'm so glad we got an island because it's functional and it really elevates the space, I love it. All her measurements and recommendations are spot on. Ammie took a lot of stress and weight off my shoulders because I knew whatever she recommended was in my best interest and aesthetic. I also asked so many questions and she was always prompt to answer. 10/10 recommend working with Ammie on your next design project. Thank you Ammie! :)

It was just nice to see the finishes in person. My folks have a gorgeous Herman Miller wall unit that this is very reminiscent of. But this is an approachable price. Look at the new wood option of Essenza Oak. It is so pretty with the satin anodized metal. The team at Modern Shelving is very responsive and you feel very taken care of. No big box store feel at all. One note - factor in the cost of paying for an installer. This is not Ikea. Unless you really are an engineer type, I wouldn't recommend attempting to install yourself. However, Modern Shelving recommended a very good person to do the work. If in NY - go on IG: @tgplatinum1 for Travis

The initial order and delivery was fine and every thing arrived as ordered except for one slightly crushed leg. It was no big deal since I could hide against the wall during install. Installation is fairly straightforward and the unit came out looking gorgeous. Over the years, I have filled up the shelves and started looking to add more shelving / cabinets to the unit and that is when the problem started. I noticed that one of the original 31" wide shelving was starting to sag due to the weight of the books so I have to rearrange the books to take some weight off the longer shelves. I decided to add more height to the shelving (it was 8' tall when ordered and I wanted to add 2' length to it. They also comp'ed me at the time for that crushed leg and gave me a replacement for free. However, the extension pieces arrived in a different finish of aluminum and it took them 2 more tries to get the finishing correct. I ordered some aluminum shelves online for added strength but when they arrived, I realized they they are only 8" deep and not the 12" that I thought I was gonna get. CS was like tough luck. I was going to add 4 more open cabinet boxes to house my books due to the need for structure and strength for the books that I own. I got a quote in 2022 and it was $2850 at the time for them). I was busy with work so didn't complete the purchase back then. Fast forward to end of 2024 and beginning of 2025, I needed to reorganize my office so I wanted to order the cabinets now. I got in touch with them and they said they can't reactivate the old invoice and had to start fresh. So I booked a design consultation and the designer had not done his homework and look into the dimensions of my old unit. He gave me the standard quote for the cabinets for 2750 shipped. I reviewed the invoice and noticed that the depth is incorrect (1" deeper than my space would allow). I had to reschedule another Zoom Meeting with him to go over the detail dimensions once again. This time, they came back with a quote of $5280 shipped! That is almost double of what was previously quoted in 2022. He cited that is due to increase in material costs. Mind you that these are not fancy hardwood cabinets. Instead, they are just cheap laminate particle board boxes... Needless to say, I would not be buying from them any more since it is such a rip off. There is no way that particle board could have gone up from 2850 to 5250 in 2 years. I have contracted with a local Phoenix cabinet builder to build solid walnut boxes for 20% of Modern Shelving is trying to charge me for their laminate cabinets
