We are a multigenerational household, so scheduling appointments can be tricky. I needed a very specific time, and even though they normally don't accommodate that (because of the gap it creates in their schedule), they still made it work for us -- and I'm so grateful they did. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was professional, patient, and incredibly kind. My mom has dementia, and one of the team members immediately sat with her so she felt safe and calm. They took my parents back first, and when my mom needed extra help, multiple staff members stepped in without hesitation. They treated her with dignity and genuine respect. After my mom finished, another staff member stayed with her again so I could complete my own appointment. They truly went above and beyond. As a full‑time caregiver, that kind of support means everything. If you have a senior loved one or need a place that understands compassion and caregiving, this is the place to go. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! From being greeting nicely with a smile and feeling welcomed in, not like a number, to getting some of the best care from start to finish it was a win! I felt so cared for and love how Dr Andrew Hustava did my exam and never once did I feel rushed. He listened to all my concerns and just took his time with me and getting to know me. I had a concern the next day and needed to get in asap. I called and made an appointment for later that day but Tammy the owner called me and had me in the office within 10mins!! On February 9th, I had an appointment with Dr. Hustava at Flower Mound Eyecare Associates because I had been experiencing headaches, dizziness, and difficulty driving at night, and I needed updated glasses and contact lenses. I went in for both an eyeglass exam and a contact lens fitting. A refraction was performed during my visit but I did not receive a copy of my eyeglass prescription at the conclusion of the appointment. During that same visit, I was given two trial daily lenses of each strength to compares. At checkout, I asked about saline solution for my daily lenses. Ileana initially stated that because they were dailies, I did not need solution. Tammy (office manager) said I should use the liquid from the individual blister packaging instead of bottled saline and stated that bottled saline contained "chemicals." When I later called and attempted to finalize my fitting, there was a dispute because the specific strengths were not clearly written in my chart in a way that resolved the confusion. During a phone call, Tammy stated "that's not what the doctor gave you." The situation escalated to the point that I had to return to the office in person to resolve it. Because I had only been given two of each trial strength, Dr. Hustava later reordered additional daily trial lenses so I could properly compare them. On February 19th the dailies arrived and I was notified by text that they were ready. I responded asking when Dr. Hustava would be back to sign off on the prescription. I did not receive a response, so I called. During that call, Tammy said Dr. Hustava did not need to sign off on the prescription, that she could do it herself. I explained that I had not yet picked up the additional trial lenses and therefore could not confirm which strength was better but that I wanted the strength that allowed me to see nearsighted. At that point, the tone of the conversation changed, and I asked to speak with someone else and the phone call ended. Tammy later returned the call and stated, "No one here wants to talk to you." I was then told the office did not "owe" me anything because my contact lens fitting had not been finalized, and I was released as a patient. Within two minutes, my VSP authorization was reversed. Tammy stated I would receive documentation as to why I was released but I never received anything. Under the FTC Eyeglass Rule (16 CFR Part 456), patients are entitled to receive a copy of their eyeglass prescription upon completion of the exam. I acted in good faith and waited one week from the phone call where I was dismissed as a patient to get my prescription. Because I had not received my eyeglass prescription from the visit on February 9th, I reached out to VSP for assistance on February 26th. The first time VSP contacted the office, Tammy answered and the conversation was redirected to contact lenses, which was not the purpose of the call. A second call was made, and Donna informed VSP that my eyeglass prescription would be emailed to me that same day. It was not received. The following day, (February 27) I emailed Dr. Hustava directly and asked to have my prescription sent to me the same day but did not receive a response. What should have been a routine eye exam and fitting under a physician's care turned into weeks of unnecessary escalation. read more

The service that Dr. Hustava was adequate for the eye exam. But I received an incompetent suggestion for computer glasses at my option. Struggling with eye strain at the computer, I opted to get computer glasses. What I received was bifocals for distance and 1/2 the power for the computer work, because "that's the way the doctor does it". After complaining that I would break my neck off with bifocals for computer work, I was rechecked for computer range work. Then they recommended a set of single vision glasses. After a whopping refund of $80 from the office manager (woo-hoo), Flower Mound Eyecare still received $646 for the single vision eyeglasses alone. As may be obvious at this point, I would not recommend this place to anyone in need of "eyecare". At least the staff was friendly. read more

I am a new customer In this place. Dr Gunn did eye exam for me. I used his proscription to get my glasses at Costco. the first time when i wore it, my right eye could not see anything clearly, much worse than the one I had two years ago. this is an obvious error with the proscription, but they refused to recheck unless I pay $50. they charge customers for the mistake they make. unfortunately Dr. Gunn does not do his job carefully. the store manager is not willing to help customers either. read more

The eye doctor did a good job but I had to have the lenses remade several times they are still not correct, I just gave up! The staff that helps with choosing frames and measuring was not helpful at all. They seemed more irritated rather than wanting to help solve the issue and make sure the glasses were correct. WORST business in Flower Mound. They need to be run out of town. Paid for glasses. Husband picked them up. Couldn't see a thing. Today is the third time trying to deal. Took lens out and threw them in trash. Bifocals are so not cheap. The service here is just epically BAD. First time they refused to give refund. I had just paid them that day. It took a month to get refund. Second time I get glasses that I can't see or read with. Third week in, still no glasses. RUN, don't walk away from these people. They are crooks. Inflexible: Rarely do I write a review, let alone a negative one, but I wanted to make sure to put this out there for anyone considering using Flower Mound Eyecare. I have been a patient/customer for over 2 years and do like their doctors. While I agree that their prices are on the higher end, I was willing to pay them because they offer Saturday appointments which are my only available options due to my job. I recently had my annual checkup and was asked to consider progressive contact lenses. I gave them a try, picked them up a week after my appointment and tried them out. The distance prescription was off by a LOT, so bad that I wouldn't even risk driving while wearing them. I asked to have them replaced and was told they do not make contact follow-up appointments on Saturdays. The earliest I was able to get time on a weekday was between Christmas and New Year. I tried to make the appointment for that week but was told that since it's been more than 30 days, I would get charged $50 for any updates to my lenses per company policy. If those revised lenses weren't viable and I couldn't make a weekday appointment in under 30 days because of a heavy work schedule, I'd be charged again. So now I have a pair of expensive contact lenses that are useless to me and my current pair still need to be updated. I found their inflexibility to work with me on this a deal breaker. They have lost my future business for contact lenses and glasses and my wife and son's as well. read more

Buyer Beware, worst eye care business in Flower Mound. I ordered eye glasses and cancelled the order the next day after realizing they were too expensive. Two weeks later, I notified that my glasses were in. I informed them that I had cancelled this order. They refused to give me a refund because they stated the "insurance claim was processed and the lab was half way done completing the order". I stated, all of this happened in one day? After following up several weeks later concerning my refund, I stated well if that were the case, why didn't you tell me the order couldn't be cancelled? This place is bad!!!! I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and am going to dispute the charges with my bank. read more

My Wife and I came in to see Dr. Hassan for new prescriptions. This was our first time here ... WOW!!! Dr. Hassan not only go through the motions of doing an exceptional eye exam, more importantly, she took the time to get to know us so we could have the best prescription according to what our work and interests are. We can't say enough good things about her! I have worn glasses for the last ten years and my wife for most of her life! Bar none this has been the best Optical experience we have ever had! Not only was Dr. Hassan awesome, the entire staff is super professional, knowledgeable, going out of their way to get the best fit and the best price for your individual needs. Soft skills lacking: My first review. What is going on in healthcare? Folks it shouldn't be about money or want for respect/notoriety that should drive doctors / healthcare providers to the field. It is about helping people. It's not about acting like you care but that you do actually like what you are doing and are patient and there to help. Anything less is just bad for all involved. I see others had good experience with Hassan however this day I did not. If there was only a vetting process. Like the saying goes, one can teach just about anyone to do a job however one cannot teach compassion or the genuine desire to help others. For me, robo-medicine cannot get here fast enough. I have been going here for years, more on the basis of convenience vs satisfaction but I'm certain I just had my last visit. The doctor is mean and the glasses and contact lens prices are ridiculous. I would pay much less without using insurance, this is really a joke. For each contact lens box they charge $85 a box these are online for $21 a box! And the glasses after insurance portion was $340 when I went elsewhere with no insurance and only paid $175. for the exact same frames & lenses. Their contact lens exam (insurance does not cover) is also more than other doctors in the area. If you do go here for an eye exam just have them give you your prescription and order elsewhere. read more

I was a customer for 17+ years and never had to bring in glasses under warranty until 2 months ago for some Oliver Peoples frames that broke while cleaning the lenses. I contacted a Flower Mound Eyecare(FME) employee who told me the warranty for these frames was 1 year and 22 months had passed since I purchased them. So, I called Oliver Peoples(OP) and they tell me the frame warranty is for 2 years. OP replaced the the frames under the 2 year warranty but it was quite an ordeal going back and forth. I am extremely disappointed that FME would not honor OP'S 2 year frame warranty (especially considering the price of the frames) so they lost a 17+ year customer because of it! read more

Love the doctors! They are really nice and don't make you order or buy products if they think is not necessary. However the staff is terrible. Anytime you call them, seems like they have had a bad day. Very unfriendly, abrupt and snobbish in person and on the phone. The only reason I go there is I like the doctors and the location of the clinic. There is only this one young guy who is always very nice and helpful. I am not one to usually leave reviews but wanted to due to the true customer service I have received here. Fantastic place to get eye care. II have used them for 3+ years. The Dr's are very professional, very courteous, and spend a lot of time with you - which is amazing because each time I have gone there has been very little waiting. They have got the appointment times do to an art form. They also have a machine that takes a digital image of your retina. They retain the previous images so they can be used to compare of changes over time. This is one feature that after 3 years of history and images I really like. read more

I have been going to Flower Mound Eyecare for 10+ years and I have NEVER had any issues with the Doctors, front office staff, and service I received. Be careful when you read these reviews because obviously the only people who write reviews are the ones that have had a bad experience in the past. Not many people take the time to talk about their experience if they did not have any problems during their examination. They have a great selection of glasses to choose from. OF COURSE they are going to be a little more expensive because they are NAME BRAND, HIGH END glasses. If you don't want to pay that much, you should take your money elsewhere. They are more than willing to write you a prescription if you do not want to buy your product at their store. I was a little nervous going here after reading the review that said the staff was unfriendly, but I'm so glad I went! The thing is, the staff here are very straightforward and professional, which can sometimes be seen as rude, but in reality, they really know what they're doing. I told the girl what I wanted, and she helped me pick out pairs of glasses and try them on and gave me honest opinions about them. She also helped me figure out the insurance part and stayed within my price range. When I got my glasses, I was so happy with them!! Great selection of frames, as well. ORIGINAL POST (09/08/2015): Please note that Yelp's automated software seems to be very selective in posting reviews!!! This review is based on my personal experience during my visit to the said service provider. Visited FM Eyecare for my annual check -up of my eyes ... This was my second visit thus far. In my earlier visit, which was in 2013, I certainly felt the doctors were good, but for the front desk personnel who could be more attentive, responsible, consistent, fair and treat everyone equally. It was no different in 2015! On the day of my most recent visit (first week of Sep 2015), 1. The doctor said that he would be writing a letter to my PP that I could collect from the front desk next week. 2. The front desk personnel had asked for my Medical Insurance card (which was on the way, via postal mail). I mentioned to them that I would bring it to them (for them to make a copy of the same) once I receive. Since I received the Insurance card over the weekend, I called the FM Eyecare office this morning to let them know that I have the Insurance card and I could stop by to give them the Medical Insurance card (for them to make a copy). When I checked with them (on the same phone call) about the letter, I was told by the 'Manager' that it would be ready for me collect when I stop by. So, here I go to their office, and kept up my words in providing them with my Medical Insurance card, which they happily collected, made a copy of it, and returned the Medical Insurance card to me. When I inquired about the letter, I was told that it was not ready !!! Only one of the front desk personnel sounded and treated me in a friendly manner, who did apologize for the inconvenience. I left their office hoping to receive the said letter by postal mail (in a reasonable time). I find it hard to believe that the front desk staff appeared very unhappy, rude and are unable to keep up their words, not to mention that I was not comfortable the way I was treated (for whatever reasons) and / or spoken to (except the only one personnel referenced above). I believe this would be my last visit to their office. While I do understand that it is a business, I also expect consistency, fairness and equal treatment in terms of customer service. I did inform the Medical Insurance company about this experience (as an FYI). I hope no one else is subjected to sub-standard treatment at FM Eyecare's front-desk personnel. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE with FM Eyecare. New to town so selected an Optometrist near by. For the standard checkup, it was fine. However, I asked for basic pair of glasses at minimum cost, they added options I did not want. When I tried to cancel, they said no refunds. A credit would be totally useless......why would I ever go back to a provider who cons their patients??!! I'm sure some of the folks don't even realize that they are paying for services or add-ons that they don't need. Don't trust the staff or the doctor here. Oh noo what a terrible experience I had! Walked in expecting to buy a pair of maui jim sunglasses. Asked the floor sales lady about temple length on a certain pair, had no idea what I was talking about, asked a girl behind the counter who seemed to have the answer then walked off to chat In the corner with two Co workers. Meanwhile I'm stuck with cash in hand needing help. Looked around, no one cared. Very pretentious and snooty place. Plenty of sunglass stores in area so I'm moving down the road. Very satisfied with the quality of the care and service here. They are very busy, and not as chit-chatty as some facilities, but everyone is very good at what they do. They have a very nice selection of frames. Dr. Gunn wrote a PERFECT prescription and I can see so much better with my new glasses. I also get a lot of compliments on my new frames. I had a horrible experience with this doctor. While home from college for Christmas, I tried this doctor for my annual checkup. He seemed less interested in my prescription and instead lectured me on eye health. Immediately after the examination, I knew that the prescription was off. I gave it a few days but finally decided to go back to have my eyes reexamined. The doctor was unhelpful and did not seem to care. I relented, kept the prescription, and went back to school. In my 12 years of wearing glasses and 7 years of contacts I have never had such a terrible prescription. I had trouble recognizing people from afar and was unable to think of anything other than how hard it was to see. After calling to see what could be done, I was sent boxes of contacts to try and figure out the prescription myself. Finally, this summer I just gave up trying to work anything out with this optometrist and went to another. The prescription my new doctor (See Clear Eyecare Costco- awesome doc) gave me is completely different than the one from Flower Mound Eyecare. That doctor overshot my prescription a ridiculous amount, which accounted for not being able to see. So much frustration and stress have been wasted this year because of this situation. All in all, though, I am simply relieved to be able to truly see the world again. I do not recommend using Flower Mound Eyecare- all it does is cause a headache. read more

The front desk staff has never been very friendly but my family and I loved my doctor. She recently moved to another practice and I was rescheduled with Dr. Gunn. WORST EXPERIENCE!! not friendly at all and seemed upset when I asked questions. When I asked him if my prescription changed, he responded in a very rough and upset tone "I already explained that; here are the numbers" Wow!! Never expect that from a "doctor." Then when I got my glasses with the new prescription something was wrong and I asked for an appointment for a re-check. I asked to be scheduled with another doctor no Dr. Gunn. They did not have any appointments available until 2 weeks later. I missed the appointment since I was super busy that week but no one called to remind me about it or to reschedule. I called today and they wanted to charge $50.00 because it passed 30 days after my vision test. I do not care about paying but I felt it was unfair and even talking with the manager I did not feel she care about my feedback at all. I am not coming back to this office and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE AT ALL!! read more

The worst dr. office I have ever seen. Extremely rude staff, unpleasant in person or on the phone. They never answer your question and belittle you if you ask anything. The only good thing about it is its location. The male Dr. is ok and relatively easy to deal with. The female Dr. is simply treble and extremely rude. AVOID this office, I don't think they will survive with this attitude and service level. My neighbor warned me about them but now experienced it first hand!
