What made this particularly frustrating was seeing staff sitting and taking a break while the dining area remained in this condition and customers were clearing tables themselves. The food itself was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the condition of the dining area and lack of attention to cleanliness overshadowed the meal. I understand restaurants can get busy or be short staffed, but this was unacceptable.

At Dragonfly, they make their own noodles and they are very good. I had some last night in my pho and am looking forward to getting the Yuki Udon next time. My husband wanted a selection of Bao so chose the roasted duck, the pork belly and the Dragonfly. He really liked them all. I love duck Bao so I had one too. Because it was chilly out I got the smoked brisket Pho too and had to bring some home since it was a lot to eat on top of the Bao. I lived the fresh basil leaves and the crunchy crisp bean sprouts. I opted out of the spicy peppers an onion as I find them harsh everywhere. I totally forgot to add a few other options as I live bok choy too. You can get a full menu of options online to order at your table by phone but we prefer and they offer a full sized menu at the counter. Note, that a nominal tip is included which is thoughtful and fair to customers and workers alike. They share duties but noted the owner who makes the noodles in the adjacent space was leaving as we were eating. You can see some of the equipment through the glass partition. They were out of oolong tea and I was hoping for some on a chilly day so I hope it is there next time as a long winter ahead of us. My husband had the iced Thai tea with his Bao. That tea is too sweet for me with condensed milk in it. We will definitely be back later. If I have pho again or my husband has it with rare steak as he plans , I hope the broth will be hotter to cook it some. If we could rate with half stars I'd go 4.5 though it was not quite perfect enough for a 5. But we will be back and pretty soon.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been. The price is so high with so little bowl(better call "kid's meal restaurant"). The owner does not know how to cook Asian food at all(Maybe just try to cheat people with no Asian food experience), the Mapo tofu is like boiled with cold water, no taste at all. I ordered dinner but they said the two I ordered was not available and I have to pay tips even I choose "to go".(they don't have any service even you dine in since it is a "help yourself" style and very small restaurant.) But their prices are higher than most bigger restaurants in CO. Plz search for a better restaurant and stay away from this one. I was cheated once and will not go the 2nd time. This is the best place to eat in Boulder hands down. Very authentic flavors and kind owners with that hole-in-the-wall charm. The pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are incredible. The soup inside is rich with flavor. After trying over a hundred different xiao long bao places, Flower Pepper remains my favorite. The sour and spicy sweet potato noodle soup and Dan Dan noodles will not disappoint. I've never had sour and spicy soup as good as the one from Flower Pepper, even after traveling around South East Asia for several months. The cucumber salad or tiger food (if you like the Szechuan tingles) are fantastically refreshing. The mapo tofu also provided that much needed tingle and is one of my favorite dishes. This is one of the worst meals I have ever experienced. It was basically spicey water with a few noodles and three leaves of bok choy. We told them several times to make it vegetarian but they made it with pork anyway. The worst part is when we went into pick up our order of sweet potato noodles we asked them again to confirm that it was vegetarian and they looked in the bag and told us that it was. We got home and experienced meat with no hint of sweet potato. None. Nothing in sight. It's not what we ordered. It also made me sick. Not going here ever again. read more

While the restaurant is small, it is bursting with character. Never judge a book by its cover. My girlfriend and I make a point to come here at least once every couple weeks, because this is hands down the best Chinese food I've had in boulder. Real hole in the wall place, but the soup dumplings and dan dan noodles are to die for. read more
