What a delight! This place was exactly what we needed and we didn't even know it! Im a huge fan of eggplant and this was off the charts good! Served up super hot and fresh off the stove to my fork! The sauce was a perfect amount of sweet and heat. If you don't like spice, I don't think this one would be for you. The lumpia were delicious. Flaky and crispy outside with a delicious pork and veggie filling. The side sauces were also unique and paired well. The mustard based sauce was a new one for me! Paired really well with the pork. The sweet and sour type was also delicious. The cucumber salad was crunchy, fresh, and just the right amount of tang. I could have had a whole bowl of just this! It is street food style so no formal table seating. If the weather is nice, I recommend hanging outside on the benches under a tree. Also eat location to grab and go as well. I ordered takeout on the corner space at the Ginger Pig on a busy Saturday night during parents weekend at CU. I had the crispy char sui pork bowl. I loved it, but the Maggi on the rice was not my favorite as it is overpowering. The pork was plentiful and crispy. I look forward to trying more dishes. read more

I seriously cannot believe Ginger Pig got Michelin recognization. The chicken is so deep fried and cooked to death you would not know it was chicken. in our particular order they forgot to give us the sauces that go with our dishes. We did take out so we weren't about to drive back up to the hill to get them. We got two Bahn mi bowls unfilled with the chicken I was talking about and the other with tofu. The tofu one was better. Both were filled with a bunch of mayonnaise and rice and the usual veggies. This was my second time to try it and I won't go back again. read more

Heard about this place and been dying to try it out, me and my boyfriend finally went the other day & it was amazing! I had the Korean Spicy chicken rice bowl and he had the barbecue pork. We were originally planning a date night here but had no idea it was take out only- no seating at all available. We took the food home and it was delicious! Probably the best asian food I have ever had. Wish they had seating at the Boulder location and wasn't in such a crazy frat CU part of town -lol. Fun to walk around and see all the kids partying, pretty lively area. Parking was a bit difficult but we just parked a couple blocks away and walked (not bad at all). Best asian food ever! Me and my partner don't eat pork but we were surprised to find they offered other meat options that were fantastic. The place is located in a really lively and fun area of Boulder. The service was great and I loved that you just pulled up at one of the side tables placed around the perimeter of the window you ordered from. It feels like you're having the proper street foot experience with high quality ingredients and flavours. I tried the peach milk from Taiwan which was a new taste for me that I'll be looking forward to again. The Hong King French Toast can't be missed! It was so good and the sweet and sour rice bowl was filled with tender meat and fresh veggies. Would highly recommend if you're looking for food in those area! We had heard that Ginger Pig had expanded from its days as a starter kitchen at Rosetta Hall when it opened in 2019. We had tried it here and liked the time we ate, but our favorite kitchen at Rosetta eventually left and we have not returned to Boulder's first food hall. We have a newer one we greatly enjoy. But I was intrigued when I heard that Ginger Pig had a restaurant in Denver and had opened a takeout window kitchen on the Hill, a location very near us, even walkable. So today, sunny and warm for the season, we ordered online and walked down for our food. There is no inside option, all, order and pickup, done on the sidewalk through a window of a former handcrafted jewelry shop that had closed a long time ago. There is also no real outside seating for Ginger Pig, though there is a picnic table near the sidewalk, but at lunch time, was full of CU students. We were not sure whose food they were eating but supposedly this table belongs to Ginger Pig, I learned later. we took out food home to eat. The Char Siu Pork Rice Bowl was as good as I remembered from that first time at Rosetta Hall. Crispy, sweet, spicy, juicy and tender, an ample portion for the two of us. It was supposed to come with a side of rice and a Chinese Smashed Cucumber Salad. The rice was well cooked but it took us hours to remember that the reason the meal seemed so off balance was that they had forgotten the cucumber salad though we had not noticed when we took the bag, as it was closed. We also ordered some vegetable egg rolls, and they were crispy with tender veggies. Those came with a chili sweet sauce and a mustard. I did call Ginger Pig later in the day and told them about the missing salad and they apologized and said they would remind the packers to check orders more carefully. I appreciate that but next time I will also check myself. It is too far to walk all the way back for a small item. Anyone who knows the Hill in Boulder, knows that there is hardly any parking and the best access is by foot, bike, or bus. Next time we will try some more items. The menu here is much smaller than the one in Denver but I hope they will grow here and acquire more seating for summer. I don't believe the existing space has any option for indoor seating. Have a plan for where to eat your food when you come for a meal! If they turn out to be super successful this summer, maybe they can rent a bigger space with indoor seating for next winter. read more

I left a 4 star previously only sighting the pricing, but after having returned many times and tried different options I would give this place a 5. There are definitely some options that are pricey for quantities, however, the bento boxes and some other items are BANGING. I recently got a BBQ pork shoulder box and I have been craving it since I finished. The Hong Kong French Toast is extraordinary. I would travel for this experience. They have a surprisingly large menu, so you will probably find more than four or five items that you will also love. It's a special treat to eat in a Michelin Bib Gormand Award winning restaurant. Outstanding food worth way more than they charge. read more

I'm obsessed with Ginger Pig in Denver so I was thrilled to see another location in Boulder! The food is just as great but I took off a star because this location is counter service with outdoor seating/to-go orders only. One of the best parts of the Denver location is the incredible staff and great vibes, including events, but this location is really just for the food. They offer a totally different menu, designed for to-go, so I would still encourage a visit just know what to expect! read more

After trying The Ginger Pig I was shocked at so many great reviews. Our order (which was delivered) was not very good. Everything was incredibly greasy and the rice and cucumber salad did not taste freshly made. I'm a huge cucumber salad fan, so that was a particular disappointment. Additionally part of our order was missing, which we weren't terribly upset about; after sampling the food that arrived, we had no desire to try anything else. If this is your bag, good for you but "solidly mediocre" feels generous. read more

Overall decent but nothing special. Got the char siu with noodles and the gochujang friend chicken with rice. Wanted banh mi but they were out. Char siu was actually quite good but the noodles were cold which we didn't realize. Chicken was not good at all; it was soggy and was definitely cooked from frozen. Tasted like Trader Joe's frozen orange chicken but less good :/ Would potentially come back to try to char siu banh mi but doubt it's worth the $17. Portions for the rice and noodles were huge which was a plus. Also didn't realize there is no seating. read more

This place is quickly becoming our favorite weeknight takeout spot! Note- there is only outdoor picnic tables for seating and it's counter serve so plan ahead if it's cold out. But the food is fun and delicious, great quality and the portion size is generous, which makes the price worth it! The char siu is otherworldly- I recommend it in one of the bahn mi preps, as the pickled vegetables help cut how rich it is. My husband has also tried the Korean fried chicken and really enjoyed it.
