Goji Berry & Raisin Rice Cake

My husband and I shared: - Dan Dan Main - Cold Sesame Noodles - Pork Belly Bao - Roast Duck Bao - Pearl Meatball - Ma Ma's Potstickers - Vegan Dumplings - Goji Berry & Raisin Rice Cake I found this spot to be a little inconsistent. I absolutely loved the Goji Berry & Raisin Rice Cake, Pearl Meatball, both baos, and the potstickers. These could complete with the best Asian food I've had anywhere. The bigger dishes were a little disappointing to me. They weren't bad, but they weren't nearly as good as the smaller plates for me. I'd still happily come back to try the rest of the menu.

It was a drizzly day and we stopped by after a hike looking for some comforting noodle soups. I had some ordering remorse after placing my order because I thought the only menu was on the wall above the cashier but turns out there was a whole handheld menu you could look at on the counter. Oops. My husband and I both got a beef noodle soup and some potstickers to share. The beef noodle soup was flavorful and warmed us right up. Potstickers were tasty. Our meal and experience at Zoe Ma Ma was good, nothing too special though. However, I will note, it does seem to be a solid Chinese food restaurant in Boulder. I would come back to try some of their rice dishes.

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat while discovering Pearl street. We saw a Michelin star rated pork and rice bowl on the menu so I decided to try it. The food was alright. The service was quick and friendly. The ambience was laid back and calm.

Food has always been great here, and the prices are reasonable. I got the two baos, which were tasty and enough for a meal. Service - food took a while to come out. On the plus side, I like that you can get your own water (preferable to waiting for someone or being interrupted in the middle of conversation). Ambiance - laid-back, and there are a bunch of tables inside, with the TVs showing food in Taiwan.

The kitchen staff at Zoe Ma Ma. Also, love the art/vibe of the interior dining space.

I'm in Kansas City dreaming of the lunch I had at Zoe Ma Ma. I wish I lived closer to Boulder, Colorado, but I'll be back just for their food! Zoe Ma Ma is known for its affordable 'street food' and is even listed on the Michelin guide. They speak the truth. There's a lot of pricier food stops in Boulder, but I don't know why you'd eat there when you can have handmade noodles at Zoe Ma Ma. If you look at the photo of my lunch, it's food porn. The vibrant colors, the careful arrangement of the food, but then you taste it...and it all comes alive in your mouth. On the left is the Dan Dan Mian (House-made fresh egg noodles topped with minced pork in a savory broth, spicy chili oil, Sichuan peppercorn sauce, pickled radish, scallion, bok choy). Wow was it good and for only $10. They could charge a lot more, but they are customer oriented. On the right is my side of Chillin Veggie (Medley of seasonal vegetables blanched, chilled, served with spicy Sichuan peppercorn dressing) for $5. It was a good foil in contrast to my Dan Dan. The menu is extensive and I wasn't sure what to order so I asked the guy behind the counter. He was friendly and offered his thoughts on what customers like, what he liked, and asked what I liked. I'm no stranger to spice, which is why I went with the Dan Dan. The vibe of the space is clean, contemporary and cool. When I took the photo of the kitchen staff (they probably are in a ton of photos) they were friendly and laughed. Zoe Ma Ma is a gem in Boulder. I want to eat their entire menu and will have to make many return trips. Thanks for a great dining experience!

Small cute restaurant great for a quick bite. Its a sell service kind of place where you order at the counter then sit down and they bring your food over. You get up to get your drinks, sauces, and utensils. Service was fantastic, the food came out pretty quick and they kept checking in with us if everything tastes good. Braised Beef soup was fantastic. The meat was tender and the broth was so flavorful. The duck Bao was one of the best Ive had so far. Will definitely come back!

They had a stall at the Dragon Boat Festival so I took the chance to try their food. They had what we call ba-chang and they call zong-zi. They are sticky rice dumplings and the ones I got had pork belly in them. While not as flavorful as I like, they were a reminder of my childhood and I still appreciated being able to eat them. Friendly and personable servers.

What a great lunch time spot on Pearl!! Got this for takeout. Really delicious food and fast service for a quick workday lunch. This place was so busy -- I would come back to sit on the patio with some delish Taiwanese food. Well deserving of their Michelin recognition

A quick snacking stop in pearl st mall. Simple menu, decent price and tasty. We had za jiang mian, it's very authentic and flavorful. Potstickers are great too but the pork belly bao is a bit too dry. For desert we had the goji berry and raisins sweet rice, it's awesome too

It's Boulder and they have a Michelin star 2 years in a row, so yes it will be a little pricey. That said, it's totally worth it. This is the kind of comfort food you need to soften the blow of learning your job has been eliminated. Or whatever the occasion. The braised beef noodle soup currently on the menu is the best bang for your buck, but you're missing out if you don't try a little of everything. I even had the pleasure of eating with MaMa herself. She was also enjoying the braised beef soup, and we had a lovely conversation about the year of the snake and tiny cans of beer. They had the windows open on the inside, and she enthusiastically asked everyone sitting outside, through the window, how they were liking their meals. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! (Anyone need a biomedical research scientist?)

The difficulties with are in my previous reviews. Now much of the facility has been torn down and the ongoing construction of the space to be city staff offices and the bigger space to be affordable housing had become impractical to use or eat at the restaurant. The noise was deafening. In January they moved to a food court on the Hill. This is a lower level of a building with other tenants. There are about 6 food kitchens and each time I have been here this summer and fall, this is the busiest at lunch. Since the seating is communal there is always space and it is clean. The staff here have been really nice. If I'm preparing a meal at home or supplementing leftovers, I have stopped by to get a fave vegetable, baby bok choy, steamed and seasoned and at an affordable side dish price. Today my husband and I walked down for lunch and ordered the Tuesday special street crepes some of the owners have continued from the long gone first owners from Beijing. As with other succeeding owners, they too have continued to use lettuce rather than the bok choy in the crepe. It also has some ham, scallions and crispy wonton bits and a nice spread of hoisin. It is topped with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds that I love. Another difference from the original is that the ingredients of the crepe itself are not well mixed together so many large patches of separate egg white and yolk makes it harder to hold together and not as pretty. But it tastes just fine but original years ago was addicting. I will continue to come here try more of the food from the current owner. I love beef noodles and have 2 other places I can get a good version but this is the most walkable for me. They do very nice prep for takeout which is good too. At lunch it is busy with CU affiliated students, staff and faculty alike. Every item I have had at Flower Pepper is hand made and prepared for the customer.

Let's start with the cons. 1st off, it would be an order at the counter but they try their hardest to have you get a table and order off your phone, with QR codes everywhere. I had it ready to order off my phone and then it wanted only Google pay, which I don't have hook up to any card. So we had to redo the order on my husband phone. There was not cashier or anyone to ask questions to, not even a greeting when we walked in. When checking out, it automatically asked for 20% tip, I have no waiter or anyone to talk to, why the tip request? Order a couple of things which came out at different times. I did see the sign saying expect 20-25 mins per meal, with it being quite dead in the place I figured our two dumpling orders would at least come out together. I was already done with my meal when my husband's came out. The bathroom! Come on! Not the fact you have to walk through a storage room to get to it, the fact it was so poorly stocked. No toilet paper, paper towels couldn't be in the wall container, but stacked high where a small adult like myself could barely reach it, let alone a kid. Two wall soap dispensers neither were filled, the store bought soap on the sink was almost out. Now why would you say it got three stars? The pan fried dumplings were huge and you got 10 pieces per order. The soup dumplings were good but got super sticky when I tried to wait to eat before the others came out. Pancakes app were great especially with vinegar. Would have appreciated maybe a green onion ginger sauce to be a topper options for the dumplings. The huge pan fried dumplings saved this place, would I go back... Undecided.
