I reached out to Flowers 'n' Ferns at the recommendation of a coworker while looking for a florist for my wedding. While I am sure they do amazing work, I unfortunately didn't have the chance to see it or discuss it with their wedding coordinator. I do suggest being very thorough and triple confirming things with this shop. I called and was given their wedding coordinator's name and scheduled an in-person consultation with her. My parents and I all got up early and met at the shop at 9am. However, the wedding coordinator was not there. For almost an hour we were continually told she would be there in 10 minutes. It became obvious she had not left her house and most likely forgot about the appointment. I would have preferred if they were honest with us and asked if we could reschedule instead of making promises that she would have been there in the next 10 minutes. It was a total waste of time for us and very disrespectful on the shops part. read more

I want to thank Donna for standing behind her products. I had researched about an hour and a half research a florist who had orchids in their arrangement who will deliver to my friends home. The arrangement arrived on time but the arrangement was not what was pictured on the website. It did not have the orchids as pictured. I was a bit disappointed and embarrassed that a diffevent arrangement was delivered. I e-mailed Donna on Satuday and she replied to me on Sunday evening during non office hours. She was very apologetic and gave me a full refund. She asked me to contact her directly next time I need to send some flowers. We used Flowers 'n' Ferns for my father's memorial service. I stopped by the shop the week ahead and talked with Donna who had been recommended by a friend. She was lovely to work with and listened as I listed what I did and did not like and want. I felt such relief when I walked out knowing that she knew exactly what I envisioned and would deliver it and have it set up just right that Saturday morning. I set out all of our things at the church on Friday except for the flowers and when I walked in on Saturday I was stunned. I knew it would look pretty but it was so much more. I vastly underestimated the transformative power of the simple white arrangements I had for each table in the social hall and the large arrangement for the church altar. The 1 star is for the wonderful woman who tried to appease me with some advice on bringing my 'dead on arrival' snapdragon back to life...simply 'cut the stem and put it in cold water. Yup, just received the flowers today, and because the person who brought me the flowers did not have his A/C on, then the 10 minute drive from the shop to my house caused these flowers to wilt away.... I'm sure it's not the quality of the flowers, right, it's the limited budget of the giver and the lack of A/C in his car. Why is it, these small businesses never take responsibility for their fails.... My initial call was to a gentleman who offered to help if I drove to their shop to return my flowers....seriously, I am the recipient of this gift and I have to drove my from home so they would see the flower. I sent them an email with photos, and waited for their solution which is stated above. This entire process took an hour of my day. I think instead of blaming a person's limited 'budget' and lack of A/C, this small business should take some responsibility and try to service their customer with better quality flowers and solutions. read more

Two days before prom my son tells me he's now going with a date. I thought getting a corsage with such short notice would be impossible. Not so for Flowers 'n' Ferns. The gentleman who answered the phone said, "No problem!" He was very kind and helpful. I wish I had taken a picture of the corsage because it was really beautiful. They used small, red roses with baby's breath perfectly placed between/around the roses. The perfect amount of pretty green leaves accented the flowers, and the ribbon was the exact color I asked for. After looking at the corsages of other girls in the group, I have to say the one made for my son's date was much nicer. The others just looked really big and gaudy, especially on skinny wrists (oh to have skinny high school wrists again!). A corsage is supposed to be a nice accent to her outfit, not be the centerpiece. I don't know if this is how other places make corsages or if that's how they were ordered. Either way, it really made me really appreciate the size and look of the one they made for my son's date. The girl who was there when I picked up the corsage was pleasant as well. I had a great experience with Flowers 'n' Ferns! I was in a bind and needed to order some flowers for same day delivery for my mom's birthday (daughter of the year over here). I'm in Richmond now and was so relieved to find a florist near my parents that offered same day delivery with a reasonable delivery fee. The arrangements were all reasonably priced too - on-par with the big national companies from my experience. I picked a unique fall-themed arrangement that my mom loved! They sent me a photo of the actual arrangement once it was completed (it turned out even better than what I saw on the website) and e-mailed me once it was delivered. I placed my order this morning at 7:30AM and it arrived to my mom at 2:30PM. Couldn't have asked for better service. Would absolutely recommend this florist! read more

Not only is there flower arrangement really pretty but they are very flexible. I called in an order and there was a miscommunication. When I went to pick up my order, it was made incorrectly however they were more than kind and didn't push any blame and fixed the order up right away. They were kind enough to do it with speed and precision and everything looked very pretty. I'm looking forward to working with them more in the future.
