It's beautiful being so close to the river and at the time there was fog present which for me I often enjoy as it adds layers and atmosphere at certain times and it did so here. There were also sand bars near the river we went on. The path we used started at another park, right next to Al Borlin and then led us back to Al Borlin. We wouldn't have known the difference between the two parks if it wasn't for the signs posted. We got some beautiful views of the mountains (which I think were the Enchantments) and of the river again from a different vantage point. This park would be great to come to during any of the four seasons as you are bound to get some beauty each time along with the seasonal aspect at work.

At night you can see lighters flicking on and off. Our apartment faces the creek and I hear people screaming at all hours of the night. I would never go there alone. It's sad because it's so beautiful but not safe. unfortunately, the police cant do anything unless they are committing a crime.

What a neat spot! I…read morewas just out on a drive with my two sons and nephew whom were all getting a big stir crazy.. I stumbled upon this place and pulled into the small, unassuming parking lot. There are a few benches right as you pull in that have a nice view of scenery. As you walk down a semi steep slope, you are met with open field and a few lakes. We kept walking straight which led us onto a trail. There were many branches and obstructions on the path so just be careful! We stopped and had a beautiful view of a private beach along the river. I'm glad I stopped here with my family. It was good exercise and a lovely time spent with Mother Nature.

The view of the sea is relaxing and calming. There are benches scattered, facing the sea. At the corner, there is a sundial which I am not sure if accurate. The shadow fell between 10 and 11, and it was only 930 am on my watch. So either our daylight savings time is inaccurate or the earth has moved so fast/slow over the years the sundial is not working. Interesting thought to ponder over. There is also a mini area near the parking lot with about 4 picnic tables. You could bring food here and chill too. Parking is not the greatest as it was all gravel getting into here, and you are parking on gravel. There is also a washroom facility at the entrance area of the parking lot. It looks like a container building so I almost miss it till I saw someone else walked up the stairs/ramp to access it. When I was there, the Weyerhaeuser Office was being relocated to the park. It is not ready to be opened to the public yet. It is a historic building which tells of the story of the area pulp mill history in this area.

Only twice in my life have I encountered multiple wild snakes in an approximately 20 minute window…read morewhile hiking. The first time was in Montana while I was conducting geology field work, the snakes that time were rattlesnakes. This time I encountered two garter snakes here at Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary while hiking the Perimeter Trail (South portion of the trail). The first one I heard surprised me because it was right next to the trail. The second one was making noise while traveling through brush on the side of the trail as well. That cutie I managed to get a picture of. The edge of the water in the sanctuary is full of cattails in a number of places. At one woody portion of trail I noticed a gnarly tree by the water and decided to venture closer to check it out. I noticed a Hummingbird high in the tree by some cattails. Just this morning back at the house the hummingbirds were collecting the stuffing from cattails to use for nesting material, fun to encounter another hard working hummingbird the same day in a wetland setting. I made my way closer to the water to get a better look and heard a critter flop into the water, twas a big amphibian I managed to miss with my camera. Song birds sang and water fowl called throughout the duration of my visit here today in the mid-afternoon. A carved wooden sign is located at the driving entrance/exit to the park and is artistically well done, evoking a sense of magic that I have found to accompany wetland and heathland biomes. The parking lot is small to medium in size, but there were a number of open spots so it wasn't a problem on my visit. Next to the parking lot is a restroom building that was closed today, I'm guessing due to COVID-19, a grassy picnic area, a map of the trail system, and some signage with information about the sanctuary. There are two main trails through the sanctuary: the Interpretive Trail which includes interpretive signs, and the Perimeter Trail which goes around the perimeter of the sanctuary. I hiked/walked the southern portion of both of these trails and found them both to be very well maintained. Garbage cans were located along the trail, which was convenient. Elevation gain was not immense, but it was also not completely flat. I encountered a number of soloists and groups out walking/adventuring while I was here this afternoon. By the time I left at about 3 p.m. traffic started picking up. Overall a fun experience and place to explore.

I've been working in Everett for 20ish years and had no idea this place existed. It's not located…read moreanywhere near downtown, but I was very surprised to have never heard of it. A friend recently found it on the all trails app when were seeking out a place for an easyish hike/walk. I was amazed to find this located so close to Boeing, but should probably have realized there is a lot of nature in this area. There is a small parking lot, a big sign marking the entrance and maps/informational plaques to help guide you a long. The inner loop is mostly boardwalk and goes thru a cool rock type structure. Benches were placed intermittently. The outer loop is slightly harder to locate and navigate and does incorporate part of the sidewalk. The combination of both loops is less than 2 miles and takes about 35 minutes. This seems like a great location for a break in nature during your work day. I hope to make it back here again in the future.

Gissberg Twin Lakes used to have many trees on the outside border of the North Lake. This westerly view was wonderful on a clear day with a setting sun. Eagles used to perch on the west-side trees and on the north-side trees looking for fish in the lakes or acting as sentries. Now, all of those two tree groves are greatly diminished. What is causing this? LOW INCOME HOUSE COMPLEXES, now being the priority of Snohomish County, have been built around the north end, and the housing is expanding. Also expanding is a road which will be an extension of 27th Avenue Northeast in the Marysville Lakewood Neighborhood, which will require tearing down many more trees.

It was a Wednesday morning and parking was abundant. Signs were speckled throughout the parking lot marking the Ebey Waterfront Trail and where to find it. Exploring around the parking lot, there was a playground and a few short docks out over the water along a muddy boat launch area. Venturing out on the Ebey Waterfront Trail, I found a variety of small birds foraging in the vegetation along the trail as well as a great blue heron wading in the water and occasionally plunging its head into the water to catch a fish. A spattering of wildflowers were also in bloom along the trail. The walking path itself was flat, paved, and yielded infrequent shade. Returning to my car, a few great blue herons flew off along the river.
