Even though i've had some bad experiences here, the customer service never fails me and there's always someone who can fix it even when you're not fully satisfied. The prices are reasonable and they always make sure im happy which makes it worth going back. They all do a good job at trimming hair except when it comes to your fringe, they always seem to miss some corners for some reason. They don't double check and have you look at it instead which is fine, but sometimes i miss details myself. Other than that i love this place. read more

Honestly kind of disappointed after this past experience. Once I got home I realized I had several tufts of hair about two inches long where they had used the clippers to cut super short. I also had several uneven sections that my family pointed out. How embarrassing! I've been here a number of times where they usually do a good job but this last time was awful. read more

I think this is my new favorite location -- there's never as long of a wait as at the Addison one, and everyone is very friendly! I have had my hair cut here by a couple different folks and each time I loved it. Stephanie P is awesome and I'll probably be booking her specifically in the future! You gotta love a barber where you don't feel pressured to talk, and when you do, it doesn't feel forced. I used to enjoy coming here and the only reason im giving it 3 stars is because Audrey messed up my hair and cut off too much. She cut it crooked, couldnt even follow simple directions even after i showed her a photo and it was nothing complicated. I had a bob and i specifically told her i just wanted to even it out. I was trying to preserve length, but she had to go even shorter and it was STILL crooked after i told her. I called up there and i wasted time and gas and when i sat on the chair next to her she decided it was alright to "confront me" and berate me when i was nice enough not to say anything to her. Im not problematic and i dont like causing a scene. I asked for another stylist and she fixed it for free and did a WAY better job. The hispanic woman with the long blonde hair gave me a great experience, but the fact that they always set me up with Audrey upsets me because she doesnt understand you and you have to keep repeating yourself even after showing her a photo. How hard is it to even out your hair if youve been doing this for 10 years? Audrey basically got in my face and said to me "I cut your hair yesterday and i gave you a discount." She was basically telling me i had to nerve to go up there and make her look bad when SHE couldnt do her job. Im sticking to the Mockingbird location. Giving somebody a discount is NOT an excuse to fuck up your hair. Everyone else is fine, but Audrey shouldnt be working there if she gets upset like that. She always cut my bangs and did a great job, but she gave me a horrible experience this time. I trusted her to do a simple chin length cut. I have never given a negative review and I have gone to this Floyd's for over a year and this was my first negative experience there but it was rough. I scheduled an appointment for my fiancé and I Saturday at 10am, with no specific barber, which I have done in the past. From what we have experienced, normally, when an appointment is scheduled they start the haircut right on time or maybe at most 10 minutes late. We arrived about 5 minutes prior to my appointment and checked in and it seemed a bit busy. I knew I would probably have to wait a few moments before getting seen, which we understood and we were fine waiting. However, not one of us was seated until 30 minutes after our set appointment. No acknowledgement or apology was given at all for the wait. Others with appointments at the same time or later with specific barbers were seated first. I was a bit frustrated when I was seated but, I understood it was busy and there was no reason to express it. The barber who sat me had ask the receptionists if he had any upcoming appointments, they said no, and the barber greeted me and guided me to his chair. He sat me and put the apron over me and was about to start the haircut and when another client walked in. This client had a 10:30 appointment with the barber who just sat me. And since I had to wait 30 minutes from the time of my appointment it was now 10:30. The barber apologized and voiced his annoyance with the receptionist but, I was made to get out of the chair for the other client. My fiancé and I decided to not make a scene and just left. Besides the barber, we received no apology, no acknowledgement, nothing. So we just left. Just to clarify the barber did not do anything wrong and we do not blame him for anything but, the receptionist really dropped the ball, and it was just an overall embarrassing and frustrating experience. read more

Had lots available and got me in at 11 on a Saturday. Walked in and Brittany took my son immediately to start his cut. She asked me what we wanted and I showed her his previous cut. I get a haircut two to three times a year tops. this isn't because i'm cheap, but because barbers have this amazing ability to not listen no matter how thoroughly you explain how you want your haircut. In december I was in dire need of a haircut and I decided to give floyds a shot. Olivia L was my barber and she did a spectacular job. so much so that a month later I came back and got another haircut from her. once again she killed it. I plan on going back next month. Ive gone from being someone who hates haircuts to someone who will get a haircut once a month as long as it's from her. I used to always go to cheap haircut places like Great Clips or Supercuts because they charge like $10 and you're good to go. I decided to make a change about a year ago and start going to Floyd's so that I would get a better experience, friendlier hairdressers, and a less-rushed haircut. I've been coming here for about a year, once a month, and at first it was great. The hairdressers were kind and friendly, always giving advice and never rushing, they'd take all day to get my haircut just right if need be. They also give you free services like a neck razor shave and a quick massage included with the haircut, it was fantastic! For some reason, ever since a few months ago, my experience has been much more like Great Clips or Supercuts. The haircut feels rushed, like they're just trying to get me out of the chair for a tip as quick as possible, and they have stopped giving those "extra" services unless you specifically tell them to (and it feels super awkward asking your stylist for a massage that's supposed to be included with your haircut that costs triple what it would at one of the cheap places.) The stylists that I've had for the past 3-4 visits have been very unfriendly, one time a stylist cut the top of my hair with scissors and then asked me how it looks. I asked if she could cut it a bit shorter as it was still long. She literally replied "You know, honestly if you want it cut finger-length in future just tell us that so we don't waste our time" in a pretty rude tone. I mean, I'm paying you $30 for a haircut and tip, I would expect stylists to be friendly for the 15 minutes I'm in their chair. I really don't know what's the reasoning for the service quality declining recently at Floyd's. Several of the stylists have complained to me about how much they get paid (I don't know why they're complaining about this to a customer), so perhaps Floyd's isn't paying them enough to care? My hair ended up looking so choppy and horrendous, which is not surprising since the stylist only spent 15 minutes and never even shaped the edges or asked how I wanted my neckline from the back. I have received better haircuts as a kid at places like Great Clips. This place is basically a supercuts/great clips masquerading as a trendy/old-school barbershop. After this bad experience though, I am more than happy to drive an hour or more to get a haircut at my usual local/independent barbershop where the service/quality is top notch. First time was good, atmosphere is only thing that really sucks about the place.. you're literally screaming to talk to anybody . This place really is my saving grace from bad haircuts. I stumbled upon this after waiting for 45 min due to 3 online check ins coming in front of me at Great Clips. The straw that broke the camels back was the stylist deciding to style her own hair and putting on makeup before she even thought about waiting on me. They are open until 9pm which is great for late workers. They are like a cross between a barber shop, tattoo joint, and old school cd store. I love it. The whole experience was awsome. Very expensive, staff is unprofessional, and the service is not acceptable. I was charged $25 just for a fade, which is normally around $15-$20 in any other place. Well, if the service is great, you may think it's worth it. But let me tell you, in any other place, this fade haircut usually takes 20-30 minutes, but here the stylist only spent 5 minutes on the whole thing! Also when I asked for "double zero" (that is, a cleaner and shorted fade) she told me "that's another $5"! Really?? That's the basic of any fade! Then when she was finished, she asked me if I need any change. I asked to fade in the upper part even more, as there was an obvious line, but she just said that's how it is and if she wants to blend the fade, she has to cut even more and it's not going to be this length anymore (which I know she is wrong, since this haircut is something I am getting for years) My haircut right now looks not clean. I've given this place 3 different chances and they've completely screwed up my hair every time. This time was the the absolute worst. I asked for trim and no more than an inch taken off. 4 inches later the barber tells me that she thinks she cut too much off the back. The haircut was completely uneven and the whole thing was choppy. I wanted to see if I could style it at home, but I couldn't. So I came back and the manager took over and had to "fix" it. I love this barbershop for the variety of hair products they have, and the staff does not push them on you. I also love it this barbershop because while I make an appointment, there is no problem. It is when I try to come in as a walk-in, the time stands still because they are trying to accomodate all other scheduled appointments. I have selected several different barbers at several different shops both in the Dallas and Houston areas. I cannot recall as single incident where my hair has not been cut consistently to my demands. All of these staff members are top notch, which is why I always tip 25%. Highly recommended. read more

I came to this store to get a touch up done because I live closer to it than the one on Lemmon in Dallas. When I called I told them that the other store on Lemmon had cut my hair about a week or 2 ago, and I'd been out of town but it had always been a little off and I wanted to get it fixed. They said great come on in at 12. I arrived, thinking I was getting a small touch up and it'd be on the house since that's what they've said in the past. After I get done they then charge me for a full haircut and said, sorry it's been over a week, we can't do it for free. Would've been nice to be told this beforehand, instead of being shady about it. Looking for a place near my house. My regular place is a bit far and during traffic time, makes me wish I never moved from the area. Floyd's popped up on my searches and decided to give it a shot. Setup is pretty nice. Sara cut my hair well but I might just be use to the way it is currently cut by my regular person. It she did a good job. At $30 for a haircut, I can't give it 5 stars since the place I go to charges me $15 and I go every other week. But this is a good stopgap if I'm ever in a rush need of haircut. read more

This Floyd's does a pretty good job with appointments and making sure that your stylist will be ready for you when you get there (that has been an issue with other locations for me in the past). This happened once here and I didn't have time to wait and so Deana cut my hair instead. I am happy this happened because she did a great job and I have been going to her since! I typically get a fade to a taper with a hard line. She does it well and she shaves your neck and asks if you want a massage which most stylist will not offer or do.
