I'll give it 2 stars because it's cheap and the guys are nice. But I came here because the reviews were great and the price was cheap but you get what you pay for. Maybe it was just the man who cut my hair but they have no idea how to blend a fade. I look like I got a school house haircut with a hard fade line done by a day one barber. I have been going to Huey's for the last 10 years and he is the best around. When you walk into his shop it is walking into the past. All of the chairs are 1940's style chairs that gives it the classic feel. Huey and his men give great hair cuts and they are great to talk to. They treat you like a close friend. One of the best things I like about Huey's is that they use a straight edge razor to trim you which feels great and makes you look better. My Dad and I have been going to Huey's Barber Shop since 1972. There is no other place that we would go. Larry Honea is the only person that has ever cut my hair since the age of 4, and I will continue to go to Huey's until he retires. I now take my 3 sons to Larry. My Dad used to have his hair cut by Huey, and then switched over to Larry upon Huey's retirement. Larry is by far the best barber in town. Pamela seems nice, but Larry is the heart and soul of this shop. If you need a great haircut, go to Huey's and wait for Larry. read more

I was in dire need of a haircut as the gal that cut my hair for the past 14 years moved back to Louisiana so I had been hitting the major chains getting it cut and never really to my satisfaction. Huey's is on the opposite side of Central Expressway from my shop on Greenville Ave. I went there to drop of Pamela's receipt for some work I had done for her and decided to get my hair cut before I left. Great job on my hair cut and even got a straight razor shave on the back of my neck. The new towel warmer is supposed to be in this week which should make the visits even better. Fantastic cut and one of the the only old-time barbers left in the metroplex. Huey is skillful and understands exactly what you want in a cut. Got all the lines right, clippers were super sharp and used a straight razor where the ear meets the head as well as the neck. I went and there was only 1 barber present. He was just wrapping up another client and I was quick to get in the seat next. Cool atmosphere and decor. I sat down and explained exactly what I was looking for, as I have been getting the exact same haircut for 3+ years with a beard trim and line up. Well, needless to say what I ended up with was nothing I explained to the gentleman cutting my hair. If you have a beard, atleast when he goes to trim it he only uses a clipper and won't line it up. Clearly he didn't listen, and I knew when he said we were done 15 min after he started, there was no trying to get it fixed. If you are looking for a little off the top or a flat top, this is prob your spot. If your looking for a good skin fade, hard part, and solid beard trim and lineup, stay away!!! I have been on the search for an "old time" barber shop for months. A place that has real barber chairs - not those tiny wedge your rear into them chairs at most new places. I also am tired of clippers being used to trim my neck. I wanted it shaved. Well Huey's is the answer. Let me start by saying I have been going here since 1992. I don't live local anymore but if I'm in town on leave, active duty Marine, I will only have Larry cut my hair. Larry can cut a fade and anything else you need . He is a very experienced barber and the only one there I trust to cut my hair. If/when Larry retires I will not go back to Huey's again. I had one of the other guys cut my hair once and that was enough as he did a horrible job of a fade. I've been going to Huey's for 35 years (actually use Larry as my barber). My son's gone there since he was one (he's 25 now) and my grandson will soon have his first haircut up on the high stool in those old barber chairs. I've tried this place twice and had similar results with each person. They care more about speed than quality, even when there isn't anyone waiting. These men are actual Barbers who know how to cut all kinds of hair. Not your regular cookie cutter chain business that you see on every corner street. The only cutter they use at those places are electric trimmers and believe me it shows. The gentlemen at the shop have been cutting great for years. The place is a bit old fashoined, but if you don't like that, don't let that keep you away, you still get a Awesome cut. They cut using all the proper tools a real barber should use.
