Sorry but I'm going to have to give you a really bad review. When someone who's worn a military haircut for the past 40 years asks you "can you do military cuts like a high and tight?" Don't lie about it. If you can't then I'll move on. But when you wait until you're in the middle of the cut to realize you don't know what you're doing, that's not acceptable. Did you think I wouldn't notice what a mess you made of it? I was actually speechless when she turned that chair around. But I was a good sport about. I told her I didn't like it but she could just stop. I paid for it and even gave her a tip. But please know I'll never come back. Just be honest and pass up on that one haircut. The barber immediately stated that she doesn't 'do razor cuts'. The website states the haircut includes shampoo, foam & razor neck cut, hot towel, etc. my experience was a rushed haircut, haphazard shampoo (I literally stepped off the chair with my shirt soaked and my sideburns dripping), then hurried to the cash register. I went here for over a year and had great cuts from Misty, but she is no longer there. Last cut I got there was the worst ever. Google Bozo the Clown to see what I look like now. It was not styled at all and both sides stick out like never before. I'm wearing a hat when I leave the house, and letting it grow out long enough to get it professionally styled again, but where? TLDR: A very minimal haircut that I could have done at home, without any decorum or enthusiasm in treatment or service for the high price. A painful and poor beard trim and shave with a straight razor that left red blotches and razor burn because the shaving cream was put on totally dry. I really wanted Lombardos to be great. Since they were #1 in the area I thought it was a good bet. As far as my visit however, I don't understand how they got that position. I have spent the last few years cutting my own hair because yes I don't have that much. Going to a regular chain means getting buzzed on the sides and back and barely any touch on top with no enthusiasm, trying to get me out as fast as possible. I wanted to go to a nicer place. Therefore when I do pay for a haircut, and pay quite a bit more than usual, there is an expectation of a little bit more service. In actuality, this is less than the usual sports clips service seems to be, and the quality is questionable. I had booked a haircut and a beard trim/shave. I showed up and one of the hairdressers/barbers was outside, they walked in as I was coming in. I walk in, barely any greeting, not any sort of how are you how can I help you. I have an appointment at 1 I said, again without a word, to the computer to check, she motions to the other hairdresser/barber at the back of the empty shop. She's ready for the cut, also not saying much of anything. None of this bodes well or makes someone comfortable, especially for an $80+ haircut. The haircut itself is uncomplicated enough even though I kind of expected a little bit of help and discussion in styling or something as they had asked for notes when booking, but no mention of that, just the usual "what do you want?". Seems like I had to push for any questions. The haircut again was something close to just buzzing the sides and back, even though I was told that I could do a low fade or something a bit more complicated. I can and have done this at home with less professional tools. Definitely not worth the price. The haircut ended and instead of starting on the beard I was told we were done, and I had to remind them that I also booked the shave. Again, not a good sign. The most disappointing part was the beard/shave. I am prefacing this with, if you cannot shave someone properly, you shouldn't attempt it and get someone else to do it. I was treated to a quite painful beard trim with a razor. The shaving cream was put on dry, which I had mistaken for some pre oil or wax or something. It's not my job to tell you how to shave a beard as a barber. Secondly the pain while using the razor was considerable. To the extent where at points literally pulling out hairs instead of cutting them. I had also asked particularly not to make any heavily square corners which was also basically ignored. I'm not one to start a fight or complain too much as I know it's hair, it will grow back, so I just wanted to get out of there as I was just disappointed that the one time I decide to splurge on a haircut and shave after almost 2-3 years, it is this uncomfortable and such a let down. In the end when I looked in the mirror at home, two rectangles on sides of my face, with red blotches and uneven lines, areas of the neck almost unshaved, and razor burn everywhere (due to putting on dry shaving cream). The actual haircut was quite simple, and no real "fade" or anything of that sort. I looked pretty odd, with dried shaving cream still in my beard with parallelograms on my face. I'm going to have to do work to make this look somewhat presentable, while also waiting for it to grow in for a while. The main thing that started this downward spiral and the bad review is the lack of any sort of pleasantry at the beginning of the interaction. If you are in a service business, that's part of the deal and even more important if you are charging twice or 3 times as much as the chain shops. I give people a number of chances, and from the start, I was shown that I am not a priority as a customer. Then ending with the proof that proper technique or decorum is also not a priority. If you are an good old guy who only gets his hair cut one way by the main barber here, you might like it. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else. Suffice it to say I won't be going back. read more

I have been here before, today I had booked an appointment with Chris, as he had given me several good cuts in the past. Even though their online system let me book with Chris, it turned out he was on vacation. I allowed the barber covering for him to cut my hair. He spent the whole time talking about his extensive experience and lambasting a new employee that Chris had hired just before going on vacation ability. I ended up with a haircut that would be worth what I paid for it, if I had paid $8 at Super Cuts. If he would have taken the time at the end of the cut to put some product on my hair and try to comb it, maybe it would not look like such a cheap hair cut. read more

Lombardo's is only the second barber salon I've experienced, and my first salon was a good experience, but Lombardo's is undeniably a far greater experience in comparison. I've been twice, cut by Christopher both times, and I feel like it's a therapeutic spa more than anything. The time and care taken infects that inner haste within me and convinces me that, hey, it's ok to calm down and enjoy some peace. I love shooting the breeze with Christopher from sports to childhood pastimes to local highlights. He has a very calm, funny, and caring demeanor about him. From the chop up top to the smooth, slow shave behind the neck, it's all very relaxing. I'm not much for massages or pedicures, but I could hang out here and enjoy the decor and TV all day to feel light and loose. read more

Not good at all. Barber smelled like cigarettes as a starter. Didn't even ask once what I wanted for a haircut and just started cutting(assuming it's the same style I walked in with). Then proceeded to not really cut much, just fixing the sides. He didn't even cut the sides much and I had to ask again. DID NOT EVEN BRUSH THE HAIR OFF MY FACE OR CHEEKS. I am 48 years old and today I had perhaps the best haircut of my life by Kristen Elkins. She was friendly, listened to what I was asking and communicated with me throughout the cut. Today was unique as I had not had a haircut since this whole COVID-19 thing started and so she had a lot of clean-up work to do. My first haircut there, months ago was just ok. I hesitated to return but I will admit, I was desperate after 2 months of no haircut. I was frustrated by the scheduling, I was scheduled at 11:05 and finally sat in a chair at 11:40ish. I was told that there was a 'scheduling mistake' and granted, he was polite, professional and apologetic but I felt I was switched around to fit in a regular customer with another stylist but in the end, it worked out cause Kristen was amazing. Even though this salon is advertised as trendy, it's not really "trendy". Well, my first review for Lombardo's got taken down for being too short apparently. Also since then the nice people at Lombardo's have refunded us, so I'm adding a star. We've been to Lombardo's a few times and the first couple of times were great; they cut my boyfriend's hair and it looked fantastic. However the most recent visit left him looking butchered. Whoever cut his hair had pushed his hairline back a half inch, but only on the left side of his forehead. It looked terrible and the only way to remedy it was for him to wear a hat, which thankfully he enjoys anyway. Eventually he just got his long hair on top cut short to blend in with how far up Lombardo's cut his hairline. It looks much better now but it'll still take close to a year to grow back out how he likes it. After speaking with the owner they agreed to refund us and I thought that deserved an additional star over my previous review. The customer service is great here and they use nice smelling products. It's more expensive than average but it's also a pretty nice place. However, if they can't cut hair then what's the point. read more

"Oh my God! It's right here!" I was walking over to Frankie's Mexican Cuisine to eat dinner one night when I first saw Lombardo's Barber Salon. And that's what I said when I saw it. It looked like a jewel. The store front is all window, and the owner keeps his lights on overnight. He'd picked a beautiful, warm, and bright -- but not too bright! -- lighting scheme that showcased the line of barber stations and wooden floors perfectly. The lounge area up front was serious yet comfortable. When I was showing my mother in Florida pictures of this salon I made sure she could see the effects of those lights. I knew instantly this was a serious barber; and that he'd given my neighborhood a shop that a man can go to and feel like somebody is taking him seriously. It's exactly what I'd been looking for for years. In today's world we men are just appendages. Afterthoughts. So whereas barbershops were once common, they've now been largely replaced by salons that mostly cater to women. So I was happy to find Floyd's 99 Barber Shop; a chain that does cater to men. But only to men as a market to turn and burn. Not as men. The barbers dress like it's laundry day. Or like they'd just rolled out of bed. There's a large turnover so just when you get to liking somebody they're gone. The music is loud and "cool." Which means you can't take it seriously. Lombardo's does barbering right. It's not a commodity it's a calling. You feel respected. The staff is over-the-top competent. They dress like adults. The "rookie" there has "only" had fourteen years of experience. The owner, Christopher, is a serious, thoughtful man. They sell beautiful products. They're expanding their services. It's $10 more to go there than Floyd's. Pennies on the pound as far as I'm concerned. read more

I spoke with Kristin Elkins. She knew exactly what I wanted in a haircut and assured me it would be perfect. Our initial meeting was great. We hit it off like we were old friends. She is so easy to talk with, very friendly, and very attentive to her job. After my first haircut with her I was not going anywhere else. My friend recommended this place to me so I thought I would give it a shot. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed with the set up and how nice of a barbershop it is. The owner immediately welcomed me and even offered to get me something to drink. As far as the haircut goes, I was skeptical as the past few haircuts I've received the barbers went above and beyond to make sure not to follow my instructions and do their own thing to their liking. That wasn't the case here. My barber was very polite, gentle, and blessed me with this haircut- even though i have difficult hair to cut. When you're hair makes Larry Fine (3 stooges) jealous I am very picky whom I allow to cut it. This is a great salon and really low key. My barber is Kristin Elkins and she is on helllofagood barber. Today I got my first shave at a barber shop. Kristin moved quickly but not in a rush. The shave with a butterfly razor was close and very enjoyable. Reallly, I cannot recommend this shop and, in particular, Kristin. My hair looks great and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Most professional best barber in the area. I was treated with the upmost respect, even though I'm a little younger than the main crowd. I came in as a walk in and Mr. Lombardo told me there was an hour wait, then he took me to Frankie's next door and paid for an appetizer while I waited. He talked about his business and what set it apart and how they are relationship driven. John Baldwin was my barber, such a friendly guy who really knows what he is doing. He would stop to explain the way he was doing things and helped me understand some of the tools that were used. He would ask how you typically style your hair and the steps you typically take when getting ready. He's very good at beards, would highly recommend if you have a beard. It's a little expensive, but like all things you get what you pay for, and this was well worth it. read more

My son and I had an excellent experience at Lombardo's Barber Salon. Friendly service - Chris, the owner, welcomed us and explained the background behind the shop. His vision is to bring a traditional barbershop experience that's relationship driven to the Canyon Creek community. The lounge area has leather couches and recliners, refreshments, a flat screen tv, and wifi. Excellent haircuts - John Baldwin cut my hair and my son's hair. My son normally wants someone him to accompany him at the chair but not this time. As for my cut, John explained everything he was doing and I was impressed by the overall experience and result.
