But also get ready for some dry ass chicken. There's a reason why I only cook chicken thighs at home instead of breast. One is moist and juicy, the other is not. Fluffies was not able to make their chicken breast any less dry than I could. I had to drench each bite with sauce to mask the dryness. Remind me to only buy chicken sandwiches that use thighs only in the future. The crunch on the fry was a little hard, the sauce did work, but overall I felt like I ate saucy and fry rather than a chicken sandwich. The fries are aight. Very well seasoned -- that was the best part. But I felt like I was eating a toss up with each fry. Some had the perfect crisp on the outside, others felt stale? I came here on a Friday evening and was struck by how young the crowd was at this location at this hour and there was quite a number of people here. There is an outdoor window for the to go orders steadily flowing after ordering at the kiosk or at the cashier inside. The kitchen is behind a wall out of sight and the stapled bags of food were steadily coming out. They handled the crowd as best they could at this busy time around 8PM on a Friday. I ordered the Fluffies House Special comprising the signature chicken sandwich, fries, and a chicken tender with two of the Fluffies secret sauces. This house special will run $25 and I was surprised how generous it was. It comes in a large cardboard box with a lot of fries. The chicken sandwich, which has come slaw and pickles is very good. The chicken itself is crispy and the combination with the slaw and pickles is spot on for textures and counterpoint to whatever spice levtyou choose. I ordered it regular spicy and that was a good choice for my tastes. I can well imagine a lot of people will opt to bump up the spice level and I would not think heightened spiciness levels would be fearful here. The sandwich bun was a buttermilk, sourdough or similar and did not detract from the overall profile, but added its own dimension. The fries in this house special are very generous, but I was not terribly impressed by them. They are crispy, but the flavor is disappointing. I would ask for an extra sauce or two for these fries which bumps them up. The sauce is also right on point for the chicken tender, again demonstrating crispy texture and a generous size for one tender. The Fluffies secret sauce is really great with anything and one should apply it liberally. Ask for extra sauce. The chicken sandwich and the tender are nearly four stars for their crispy texture, generosity, and flavor.
