    Omakase Room

FlyFish does a modern take on Omakase that is still respectful to the roots of traditional omakase. Chef Nori has been making omakase for 30+ years and curated the best omakase experience I've ever had; Fresh cuts of fish from all around the world, exquisite cocktails and Lo-fi hip hop & RnB in the background to bring it all together. Highly recommend. The main restaurant has Sushi, American, Italian food and a phenomenal bar. Everything on the menu is good but the omakase is just different.

really cool place. this is a members' only club. I'm not a member, but was invited to a birthday. arrived at the door and was let in by a security guard. was then greeted by a hostess who pushed an elevator button for me and directed me to the party, which was in a lounge downstairs. the downstairs bar/lounge had very cool, trendy vibes. the bartenders put a lot of effort into each drink. cocktails were $22/each. friend and i were not a fan of mango no. 5, but the "my thai" was good. place was very loud. i tried some appetizers - the food was good. this is a great date or party spot. i'd definitely want to come back for dinner or another event sometime.

This restaurant was a highlight of our trip to NYC from NC. It's a members only club but we were invited through friends. The staff are attentive but unpretentious. Burrata with caviar kicked off the deliciousness, followed by innovative sushi rolls, shaved octopus - perfection -, oysters in a citrusy brine, sea bass...our table of five must have tried 12 dishes. This is a place with a big personality. Gorgeous, over the top, lively, reflecting the heart of lthe owner Chef Josh Capon who was very present during our visit. We saw several celebrities which was also exciting!

Got to attend a wonderful private dinner for a friend's birthday here. The private room is something special and all staff members were as mentioned kind, friendly, approachable, attentive, and not pretentious. They were very welcoming people. This alone made me want to become a member. The ambiance of the staff is a big point for me. I did not get to see the Omakase room, hopefully in the future. The Cattail lounge is wonderful, and a great place for dinner with friends or for a date.

Just attended a private party at Flyfish and not only was their food great, what was most appreciated was how incredible EVERY member of the staff was.

The portions are to be expected considering it's a tapas bar and the price is to be expected for New York in Times Square. The servers and food runners were attentive, quick to refill our waters, and thoroughly knew the menu and the ingredients. I always appreciate when allergies are noted (although I don't have any). The interior is so cute! Very good date night spot with a small candle and floral arrangements throughout. 10/10 would go again

The restaurant is elaborately decorated with beautiful pink flowers and greenery. We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and let us know it was happy hour, with $2 off cocktails, beer, and wine. I got their espresso martinis (actually, I got a second one when I finished it cause why not), and my husband got their mule, which had a nice piece of candy, ginger, and a light in it. We were only here for drinks and apps as we had dinner a couple of hours later. We went with the tempura oyster mushroom tacos (they are very mini) and the everything Ttaokboitti. We loved them both so much! The little tacos come with three, but they can add another for an upcharge. We just ordered another batch (they are mini) because they were so delicious. The Ttaokbotti was so so good, and since it reminded me of an elevated mac and cheese, it was my favorite.

But don't let the basement level dissuade you; they really turn their location into a strength. There's a covered "outdoor" section with lots of natural light, and the inside is spacious and modern, with a semi-open kitchen that makes it feel like you're in a place twice its size. The tapas we tried were great. Patatas bravas were crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and maybe a touch too much salt. The hamachi crudo was excellent, with a unique coconut and mango sauce that gave it a touch of sweet to go with the zest. And the pulpo was great, the octopus was well prepared and the sauce was hearty without dominating the taste. The half chicken was the most memorable dish; our server recommended it, and it's clear why. It was unbelievably juicy and tender, with plenty of lemon flavor in every bite. Lots of meat, don't expect a small plate like the other menu items! All in all a good experience in a nice atmosphere, definitely staying on the list for tapas in the future.

To find Debajo you have to find the staircase leading down as this is below ground level - hence the name. MUST GET the patatas bravas - just enough to share between three people but might want to get two orders if your party is more than three. DO NOT GET the queso - it's literally a couple thin slices of cheese, a tiny bowl of almonds, and some tomato mixture. You can add bread for like $7 on top of the original $16 price - actually ridiculous for what you get. The roasted duck breast was flavorful and tender, and the bavette steak was even better. Really great to share as well since they're cut up already. Good vibes in Debajo - would definitely come back again. It was clean and very chic.

Props for creativity because I have yet to encounter any dishes quite like what we had here prior and since. To be honest, I wasn't too crazy about the lentil salad with the sicilian melon. Taste-wise it was fine, but the presentation to this day reminds me of a slug on a pile of detritus. Aside from that, I remember fondly the savory dill granita, the cool and spicy elements and fresh herbs from the cucumber salad, and the krofne trifle - an ensemble of fermented rice cream, pickled plums, and anise crumble) that strangely worked well together. You can also add on a wine pairing if needed or just enjoy the wine here! They specialize in Eastern European wines. Service was excellent and attentive. I would not mind visiting again, especially since the menu changes up seasonally. Also, based on my lack of wine photos, it appears that I did not partake in the wine pairing so will need to remedy that. Until next time!
