The service was incredibly slow and we had to borderline beg for water. Our food took over an hour to come out. The seafood tower was good and the skewers were as well but again they were nothing special and did not justify the price whatsoever. We left hungry. Not sure why this place has such a low rating I had such a wonderful night there. The decor is gorgeous, the service was spectacular and the food was so delicious. We started with the focaccia with whipped ricotta and caviar cones afterwards we had the salmon which was served with a beautiful rhubarb citrus salad, the carrot tajine and the wild mushrooms, i had a glass of rioja and my mom had a spicy mezcal cocktail, we ended the night with a sumptuous chocolate souffle and a pot of chamomile tea. In total our meal with tax and 25% tip came out to $277. Not sure why everyone is saying this place is extremely pricey, i have paid way more for way less in the past. We made a reservation for Saturday at 7:15 PM and arrived at 7. They seated us immediately, and the service upon entry was impeccable. There's a coat check, followed by an elevator ride to your designated floor--ours was the main dining room. The restaurant's layout was unique. When we arrived, only one other couple was there, but as the night went on, it became more crowded. The tables are quite close together, which can feel uncomfortable when others are seated next to you. For food, we ordered the lamb chops, octopus, salmon, tots, and smashed potatoes. Everything was good, but the side dishes should at least be larger portions. After dinner, we visited the downstairs bar. Las time I will go anywhere hyped by TikTok. The pics looked amazing and the decor absolutely is. Rest of it was a disaster though. Overpriced below average food. Worst was the below average cocktail- think warm martini with withered olives. The best areas of the several floors concept space was closed off for private parties. The bar - which looked stunning at first glance- is super small (think can't even fit your drink on a table) and had horrible upkeep- cracked tiles in plan view and the warm martini just killed it for me. Made reservations for Christmas Eve to bring in the holiday with a group of friends. The ambiance is beautiful. Who doesn't want to be in beautifully lit Manhattan townhome on Christmas Eve. The staff looked wonderful in their uniforms and their smiles were welcoming. We were seated in the upstairs dining area near a warm fire and delivered drinks that we ordered on a lower level. Unfortunately, we weren't delivered enough menus for the table, had to request water be delivered over, and had the wrong drinks brought out. All things were easily remedied but considering the rather lite number of restaurant goers during our dinner, we weren't sure as to why such mistakes were being made. We ordered Christmas stuffing which did contain pork but it wasn't mentioned in the list of ingredients, wagu beef tartare, fois gras, risotto with gambas Rojas, truffled pumpkin ravioli, braised goose, halibut, and Atlantic cod. The food was delicious but the goose was tough and chewy. We were told at 11:50 that we should order our last round because they'd be closing soon. We asked the waitstaff what was the closing time because the website stated that it was open until 2am. A gentleman with a floor length fur coat came over to the table and stated to one of my guest "brother it's Christmas and people wanted to go home." Which we understand but the restaurant was chosen because of the closing time. I wish that would have been updated on the website. I would suggest this restaurant. I kept having to add salt and pepper, which is weird at that price point and in that atmosphere, where you would expect the food to be great quality coming out of the kitchen. And the service was impeccable; even the waitstaff who offered to take a photo for us was so kind and went above and beyond. I would come back in a heartbeat for drinks again on a weekend. We had the crudo (fantastic, but small of course), foie gras (can't speak to it because I didn't have it), risotto (not great), Brussel sprouts (good; but hard to mess up), picanha steak, and chicken. 3 of us had the steak, and not one of the steaks was served the way we requested. Also, mine was a bit cold, so had obviously been sitting around. Would I go back? No. At ~$200 per person, there's better places to go in Manhattan for good steak and cocktails, and probably a bit less expensive. Each floor of the house has different offerings, first floor a bar at front and restaurant (perhaps 40 covers) at rear. Other floors have more dining, a lounge for founders and a rooftop bar area. It's very chic and well staffed with clearly a lot of thought and money put into the decor and basically everything else. Staff outfits and training remind me of claridges or The Crillion in Paris. Cocktails are well executed, minor gripe is the menu for nuts charged at $10 for what you would get on an aircraft, albeit I am sure far superior. The dinner menu is good and very competently performed, Service is unobtrusive but omnipresent without feeling pushy. One thing I discovered was the misnomer pushed that this is only a private members club. A reviewer early on out this idea out there and everyone assumes it to be the case. The situation feels more like they have very limited capacity and a high level of interest from the beau monde right now which translates into a reservation being challenging. Time will tell. You can get a bar reservation instead of the restaurant but the feeling I got from a conversation was that it is equally hard to obtain. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The 1 star is only for the ambiance and nothing else because the décor and aesthetic of the entire place is stunning. I came here on Saturday night with a reservation for 2. We were seated on the terrace and it was pouring out. The terrace is covered with what looks like a circus tent- it was just an awful eyesore, so we asked to be seated in the dining room, but was told we only had about an hour for our meal because there were other reservations in that room. Turns out- we never saw any other reservation after us. We got setup in the dining room and after ordering drinks, we were told we had to move again because the way the room was setup didn't "flow" apparently. Mind you- no one was seated near us, the only people in the room with us were against the back wall. They moved us to the corner of the room against the back wall so that the entire room was empty except for all 4 tables that were filled with customers seated next to each other cramped against the back wall- very strange. Not only that, but we had 5 different waiters and each one was ruder than the next. We ordered our food and it was just very average. The portions were huge so we asked if we can take the leftovers home and they said it was no problem. After our meal, a different waiter told us they didn't have any more take out containers so we couldn't take anything to go (later after reading some of these reviews, it's clear the restaurant told others that they have a no take home leftover policy- which is just bizarre that they lied to us about that). Another thing to add is that the table next to us ordered steak and when they asked for a steak knife, the waiter told them they didn't have any. I really wanted to love this place, and had it not been for my awful experience (honestly my worst experience at any restaurant ever), I would have loved to come back here for drinks only. We were seated on the top floor. It was a space with a tented roof, I think it would have been nice for a summer day but this space should really be closed down for the winter. We ordered some appetizers along with the wagyu entree, the lemon orchiette and a side of corn. Everything was fine but nothing amazing or stand out to me.
