We've ate at the one in Little Rock several times. I was craving crawfish so we tried this one. Went on a Sunday and they have 75 cent oysters on the half shell on Sundays. I ordered a pound of crawfish and 6 oysters. The oysters tasted very fresh and they were delicious. The crawfish needed lots of help. It tasted like it was a day old and they just heated it up. Also, most of them were really small. I was definitely disappointed in them. If you ever decide to order the crawfish, ask when they were cooked. My brother and I stopped by for dinner after a Sunday afternoon concert at 21C. The restaurant was not particularly busy. Ordering was quick and the food was ready in under 10 minutes. I had a combo platter with chicken and catfish, while my brother opted for the catfish platter. The catfish and fries were hot and tasty, though the fries were obviously shoestring potatoes out of a frozen bag. The hushpuppies were tasty, but come on guys! Two hushpuppies the size of large marbles is kind of a joke. Surely cornmeal and onions are not that expensive. Golf ball size hushpuppies are called for. The chicken was abysmal. I've had better chicken strips at gas stations. In fact, they should probably be listed as fritters as there was so much breading you could barely find the chicken. What chicken was there was dry and stringy. What's sad is the fish seemed to be a premium hand-breaded product while the chicken was the cheapest Sysco CN style product imaginable. Great experience plus they have Happy Hour. $2 off. Are they good as Blu in Bentonville? Not as good of quality, but Blu is expensive. You get what you pay for. We liked Flying Fish. Husband has fish tacos and said they were good. I had a basket with one piece of catfish, hush puppies and fried okra. We split a side of cole slaw, which was very good and not loaded down with too much mayo like at some places. It's not fancy, but the food is fine. Servers were friendly and helpful. The food is okay but the crew working here is very rude tonight. Wow. They could care less about the customers. I will not come back. They barely acknowledged us when we placed our very large order and after we paid they didn't say a word or give us any instruction. No thanks either of course. Tried this place for lunch today. It is a lot bigger on the inside than the appearance outside gives. More seating farther in. It was quite busy but the line moved pretty fast. The menu is overwhelming with many fried baskets and combo's, gumbo, many grilled fish options such as grouper and trout among others, shrimp, crab legs, oysters...everything you can imagine a "fish house" should serve. I settled on a two piece fish basket which came with fries and two shut up dogs (ha-hush puppies). It was all pretty good. I added just a tad of salt. The shut up dogs were a little small and for that, a bit too greasy for my liking but flavorful. I did notice for the non-fish lover they do offer a hamburger or chicken. Another plus, while not at lunch, is they have beer, wine and margaritas. Side additions galore from corn on the cob to okra to spinach. The poor aka Po' Boys sandwiches came in many different varieites as well for roughly $9. I give it two thumbs up. Service was fairly quick even though they were having a problem today with one register not taking credit cards. Didn't seem to make them skip a beat. Hours are 11am-10pm daily. Wednesdays are all you can eat catfish for $15. read more

The shrimp is excellent, but when using a coupon, one guy behind the counter (I believe he may be the manager) makes you feel like you are scamming the place. We've been to the restaurant a few times and really enjoy the food, but this guy doesn't have a customer focused attitude; that is the main reason that I won't give 5 stars. Hopefully, he'll read some of these reviews, in which others have had similar experiences, and realize that he comes across as abrasive at times. read more

My husband really wanted to go here because he loves the flying fish in little rock. I wasn't too keen on it but agreed to go. Wish I'd stood my ground. I ordered a Chardonnay. They only had one small bottle and it was their display bottle. Hot. No thanks. I got the BBQ shrimp because it's really good at the LR location. It was ok. The slaw was sweet. Again not nearly like the slaw in LR. And someone forgot to season the beans and rice. My husband said his catfish was muddy tasting. Not good. The French fries were the best part of the meal and I think they were just the standard frozen ones. read more

Not much to look at from the outside, but inside opens to a larger seating area and some great, fast Southern food. Catfish was excellent (love that you can get as a kids meal), jambalaya was decent as were the fish tacos and kids shrimp. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Food was mediocre. Shrimp cocktail taste like ketchup and had a bunch of lettuce mixed in it. I didn't quite get why there is lettuce in my shrimp cocktail. I watch them microwave my bread pudding. If you're going to microwave your food, at least do it where your patrons can't see it. Establishments very clean and well decorated but the staff is like the walking dead. The person who took our order was named Sergio and he was unpleasant and not very polite. We watched him dump out all the tip money from the tip jar and start counting his tips in front of everyone. I wasn't impressed with this place at all. My hubby and I both had grilled Grouper, and it was so over cooked, it was rubbery. Their squash was so salty, I couldn't eat it. Raw oysters were old, and wouldn't come off the shell. Only good thing was my kids fried catfish. read more

This restaurant has been around for a few years yet we have never gone. For full disclosure I really do not like fast food style service unless I am paying fast food prices. The Flying Fish does NOT have that pricing. After standing around looking at the menu hanging above the counter I decided on fried tilapia fish tacos and my wife wanted the shrimp/chicken basket. We had to get someone's attention who in turn got someone to wait on us. My wife ordered a 6 oz margarita but when we got to the table there was a table tent advertising 10 oz margaritas for $9. The same price as was on our ticket. My wife took it back and exchanged it for the larger. My wife was not a fan of the margarita nor her food. At one point she even said she would rather have had Long John Silver's. My fish tacos were okay but a little odd they were hard shells. Eventually I chopped up everything and ate it with a fork. Overall I personally would have given it a 3 but when the manager was leaned against the front counter on his phone and there were numerous tables that were dirty I had to reevaluate and lower my score. read more

My family and I have gone here dozens of times. It never fails that we are treated disrespectfully by the main cashier. The taste that the rudeness leaves in our mouth is stronger than the taste of the good food. We have tried over and over again to give them a chance to get better at how they treat their customers. We've complained multiple times to the main manager and no behavior has changed with the same cashier so until they do something to make it right and show that they want loyal customers and value local business we will NEVER GO BACK. That sums up the whole experience from start to finish. Fries okay, not hot. Coleslaw just okay. Catfish, kinda mushy textured and lacking in flavor like it might have been frozen too long.
