Such a fun place- you've just gotta experience it when you're in old town Bentonville. Our cashier, Sergio, was so sweet and helpful. When he found out we were from out of town he recommended some dishes to us and told us a bit about the history of the restaurant. Usually they give you a number and call you and you come back to the counter and pick up your food but Sergio told us to just have fun looking around at all of the crazy/interesting décor and he would bring our food to us- such a nice thoughtful thing to do. We were very impressed. The food was all really good, but expect big portions and plan to take a lot home to enjoy as snacks later. I have had a lifelong love affair with fried okra so of course I ordered that. The corn meal that it was fried and was a bit too soft for my liking but it was still really delicious. The hush puppies are literally the best I've ever had, they had a touch of sweetness to them. We will definitely be back when we are in Bentonville again. read more

It's been a while since I've been here but tonight was amazing!!! I've tried the place with catfish in the title and their fish doesn't compare. Plus there's a whole lot more to choose from. Getting inside is something to behold. It has the feel of a fishing shack. I really like the theming of this place. They are quite consistent with the theming. I have been to the one in the Memphis, and they have similar feel. What is most noticeable is their wall of bass. I am not sure if they are real bass. They are most likely those cheap bass that sings which I thought that they will lose business quickly. Who would want to get those stupid bass. Well, Flying Fish is the reason that they had some business because of the sheer amount of plastic bass on the wall. They have quite a selection aside from fish. Since this is the South, when they say fish, they meant catfish, but they have other selections like tilapia. I ordered the fried catfish, of course. That is supposed to be their specialty. I chose the 4 pieces catfish that comes with fries and hushpuppy. I got it as to go. When they gave me my order, I really appreciate the way they put it on a nice box. They also provided that necessary ketchup and tartar sauce without me asking for it. As for the catfish, it was extremely good. It was cooked perfectly, very tender on the inside. The breading was just right. It was not very thick that makes it so hard, but it has enough so that it has that crunch on every bite. The saltiness was perfect. They did put some spices on it. However, extremely good does not mean extraordinary. I do not think that their catfish stands out from the rest. With that price point, I am expecting a little more, but all I got is an extremely good normal catfish. I recommend coming here to try it out. Someday, I will return to try their other offerings. As for the catfish though, it is just an ordinary extremely good catfish. read more

Can't deny their food is delicious and they have a fun, family friendly vibe. That's what keeps us coming back. However, my rating is three stars because when they get a little busy they are simply an unorganized mess behind the counter. It's been this way since before Covid, and now that larger capacity dining is returning, so are their bad habits when customers are trying to order or pick up their food. ‍ They seem to have plenty of staff, but why the 1 or 2 guys taking and filling orders seem to be overly involved in EVERYTHING else defies organizational logic for trying to be efficient and effective. The place was very clean and comfortable atmosphere. The food was amazing.l, except my feied oyster plate. We were visited by the owner, he was extremely polite. He questioned me about the breading not eaten on my plate. After explaining how it was all breading and oysters the size of a nickel, he took the plate, said give him a moment and he returned with some amazing fried oyster, the size of a business card. I am basing this review on 1 dish and on 1 visit. I ordered the gumbo over grits. It was some of the best gumbo I've ever had! It was so good that after tasting my food, my brother ended up going back up to the counter and ordering a bowl of gumbo--After he had finished his fried fish. I really like this restaurant and have had great food every time I've been. My favorite dish is the crab legs. They are always fresh and tasty and the portion is healthy. Sides are good too. The prices are very reasonable. Note that you order up front and fetch your own food, drinks, silverware and such. I don't mind but some do. The atmosphere is neat and the location is good - just off Bentonville square so parking isn't difficult. For inland seafood, Flying Fish does a great job. I recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting the area and after searching through yelp we decided to eat here for lunch. Got here not long after they opened and the atmosphere was nice. I got the gator po'boy and my boyfriend got the crawdad one, along with fries and fried pickles. I was not impressed to say the least. The soda machine was super watered down. The roll for the po'boy was soggy, they put so much sauce on it that everything just slid out of the roll and could not be easily put back on, and the gator nuggets just tasted off. Im not sure if it's the way they fry their food but it's not crispy at all. The fried pickles were okay for $5, however there was about a quarter of an inch pool of oil sitting at the bottom of the lined basket they were in. I maybe ate a quarter of my sandwich, if that, and some fries and pickles. Definitely not worth the near $50 we spent here. Would've much rather went somewhere else on the square!! read more
